Success, But Is It Ephemeral?

A few days ago, I posted my strategy while challenging myself to reach five million impressions and get accepted to the ads revenue-sharing program.

It worked remarkably for the following days, but then it stopped working.

It worked so well that in a single day, I almost reached 1 million impressions!

However, the following day wasn’t that brilliant and left me wondering what could have gone wrong and how to fix it.

Reaching high numbers and then diving back to lower levels suggests success was ephemeral, but also points to a promising future.

Explore my progress and how I broke X’s algorithm, even if it was for just a couple of days.

1 Million Impressions In A Single Day!

I’m almost there, but sadly, the rising trend abruptly ended, and views returned to the mean.

On October 2nd, I reached 937,187 impressions and felt like my journey to monetize my content on X was becoming a reality.

The following day, views dropped as the effect of my viral posts dwindled.

The results the following day (yesterday) were less than expected, but I think I identified the reason.

Some of our posts and comments will go viral, but most won’t.

Not when our accounts are not big enough.

Here’s my total stats for the last week on X:

The rate of increase for all numbers followed a parabolic trend, except for the engagement rate. Unfortunately, our engagement rate is expected to decrease significantly as our posts begin to attract more attention.

Organic growth will be sustainable in the long run.

I don’t have any issue with returning to normal views because my target was to reach 100,000 impressions daily.

Still, I will be pushing more with better content from now on.

What matters is sticking to the plan, delivering quality content, and, if possible, creating value by adding useful information.

The method we previously proposed included:

speed: post a comment as fast as possible

relevancy: make that comment relevant to the topic of the OP

value: bring something that is not of zero value (no spam or nonsense)

performance of the original post: If the original post does not get people to read it, your comment will also have low impressions.

Some of my posts went viral these three days and contributed to reaching more than 900,000 impressions.

Here’s my top post on X:

I created this meme but not the artwork, though, which I found reposted on X, but could not trace the creator.

Also, I observed several people reposting my meme!

Discovering that your meme has gone viral is an incredible feeling, as it indicates that it has been successful.

That’s almost 600,000 impressions for both these comments on one of Musk’s posts.

Of course, they are relevant and convey a message with just a few words and a meme.

Sadly, I thought of creating the meme after my first response. If I had done that previously, I would have included it in my first comment to make it more powerful and replied again with a second comment, adding more details.

As previously explained, this technique (replying to your viral comment) works well on X.com.

Besides these two posts, several more reached between 10k and 50k views in these three days to make it to a total of close to one million views!

These “viral” moments make a strong case for our future on X.

Now, I’m almost certain I will soon be part of X’s ad revenue-sharing program. That can happen within days if I get a couple more comments viral.

In Conclusion

Making a new meme that directly addresses a point helps.

A meme does not contain a copyright, by the way, but we expect our memes to go viral and share joy. Yet copy-pasting text or copyrighted images is not entirely welcome by anyone.

Consider fair use when making content online, and be fair to yourself first of all. Anyone can get demonetized or find accounts censored for these reasons without ever getting a notification.

To use any platform, including X.com, we must always adhere to their terms of service or any rules in place. It’s important to follow these guidelines to ensure a safe and fair experience for all users.
