6. Fondazione Prada, Milan, Italy
Another Italian pearl! Quite astounding, but this building is entirely covered in 24-carat gold prints. But it’s not the best of it either, it’s the fact that it shows up several times a year with periodic exhibitions, so they can always show something new. And the name is no accident: the head of the Prada fashion house, Miuccia Prada, founded and still manages this museum.
7. Vuitton Foundation, Paris, France
If we are already very much in fashion, let’s not go any further! Not only Prada but also French luxury brand Louis Vuitton has its own museum, housed in this special building designed by Frank Gehry. Does this museum just remind me of pineapples? It looks strange anyway, but not as much as the inside: the museum's most famous attraction is "Insinde the Horizon," a square lined with large neon-yellow columns, with a lake in the middle.
8. Nezu Museum, Tokyo, Japan
In stark contrast to the museums on display so far, this gallery of more than 7,400 Japanese and East Asian works is located in an almost rural setting on the outskirts of Tokyo. There are also calligraphies, textiles, sculptures, painted canvas and enamel furniture here that are just waiting for the undeserved audience to admire them.
9. Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa, South Africa, Africa
It is considered as one of the world's leading collections of the Contemporary art from Africa and it is also the largest museum of the contemporary African art in the world. I think it would be a sin to miss if you are visiting nearby and interested in modern structural solutions. The museum, with more than 100 Galleries, looks extremely striking from the outside as well, making it one of the main South African architectural attractions.
10. Hanoi Museum, Vietnam
In a glass-like, upside-down pyramid-like structure, there is a museum showcasing the 1000-year history of the city of Hanoi, into which you will receive a huge atrium - only then can you move on to one of the three different levels of the building. Interestingly, the museum, built in 2010, has no elevators or stairs - it can only be reached through a long, winding road in the building.
