Life is full of so many twists with a lot of people saying the things they can't do. Most people live their lives indirectly telling others to do what they say but not act the way they do. It's a life of deception now and then with the words coming out of their mouth unable to be relied upon. It's the world we live in with everyone carving their own rules and doing what they think it's best for them.

Mike's childhood dream has always been to become a lawyer and he tailored his life to studying that law even with the family troubles he was having while growing up. His background shaped him and he would do just about anything to win. He is very bright and always wants to win every argument. He would do anything to win a case even if he has to collect evidence illegally and blackmail others. Every case is about winning to him.

While he was in school, there was this professor of Ethics that he constantly fall out with due to varying degrees of reasons. The professor clearly stated that there are law ethics that should be followed even if it means you are going to lose the case. Mike argued that it's not fair because it means justice wouldn't always be served just because others are not willing to cross the line, not just to win but to open up the truth. Mike and the lecturer didn't see eye to eye during his law school days but it didn't matter as long as he was passing his exams.

He carved a name for himself because when he was taken by a law firm to work with them after school, everyone know him to be a serial winner. He got into one or two troubles but he would still do whatever it takes to win. He has better win ratios to defeat which is why everyone respected him. He went to this Professor, reluctantly one day just because he wanted to cover for one of his associates but the old man never forgot their grudges and walked him out of his office instead.

As life would happen, the professor who also got a wind of Mike's growing influence came to his office one day to ask Mike for help in taking up his case. Mike vowed he would never take the case but other associates begged him to take it because they believed if the man was the way he was in school, definitely, he didn't do anything wrong on the case and it's winnable. The government needed an explanation for the $25,000 payment into his account and if they can't come up with a logical explanation, the school would likely sack him too. With the little Mike knew about him during the Ethics class, he believed the man didn't do anything wrong.

The man told him he won the money during poker and since the school is against it, that's why he wouldn't declare to them where the money came from. It took Mike a while to know that the professor lied to him and the money was paid by another student who wanted his grades to be changed. The bad thing is, that the professor already spent the money.

Mike confronted him and the professor confessed to it. Mike wasn't only disappointed but he felt something must have been wrong with him since everyone thinks he was on the wrong path. He has broken laws just to prove a case and this is why he didn't back down to do things the right way because he always beat himself up for being on that sloppy path. Now, he found out that his professor who claimed to be morally upright and told him off in the class with other students there to watch is not all who he claimed to be.

He managed to solve the problem for the professor. He got the name of the student that bribed him and told the student to sign the letter that it was a loan given to the professor which would be repaid. It means the grade of that student would go back to the original F which was why the student was reluctant to also sign it but when he was threatened with a lawsuit about bribery and he knows what it means to his law career, he had no choice but to sign it.

Mike went to the professor to tell him what the arrangement was and give him a copy of the letter. The professor told Mike he had already spent the money and he doesn't even know how to pay it back. Mike offered to pay it back for him while the lecturer questioned if he won't ask what he used the money for. Mike said he isn't interested in what he used it for but in getting the case over with. The professor was humbled and told Mike: "I am sorry you felt let down because I taught one thing but here I am, doing another thing underground. I might have won that argument with you in class that day, but on the ground of who is a better person, you beat me to that and I am grateful."

Most people would rather change their value system when it comes to their issues but would slate you when you walk down that path.  It's the world we live in where not everything people say can be held up. This is why I am always wary of social media life as well because a lot is buried beneath the surface.

Thank you for your time.

I can only wish people are indeed upright in their doings. Living a life of deception, preach about something while obviously doing the contrary.

Mike only carried out his profession on the path of the provisions according to his profession. While the professor wanted to fix it but had already done so. Is this a kind of greed in the end having to swallow the bitter result of one's own actions. The story is very instructive.

Let me get acquainted with you. I am also incorporated in noisecash with the same name. I was exploring in noise and found you.

Imagine! The professor didn't do well at all... Mike even believed he wouldn't be capable of illegal things, all because of what the professor taught in school. This is the society we're living in, most people find it easy to preach, but finds it hard to practice what they preach. It's very common amongst all humans. Alot is indeed buried beneath the surface of social media, it's very easy to lie and pretend when it's virtual.
