Hello guys, it's so good to join you all on this platform. It is my first published article on read.cash and I intend to leave a footprint here.

The topic I choose to begin with is what you must know as a writer.

Have you paused for a moment to ask yourself what is it that you must know before punching your keyboard to type words?

Like art writing is a task that requires planning, analyzing, and visualizing. Often the recurring mistake that most writers fall into is that they just start to write even though they don't know the direction of what they are writing about. Such an article becomes extended that conclusion becomes pretty difficult. Or it may even fall short of where the conclusion should fall. The consequence of this is, that it becomes really difficult for readers or the audience to lay grasp the idea being talked about.

Reading an article that one hardly could grasp just what the idea or the point of discussion is about could be burdensome. Sadly, it kills readers' spirit to want to hit on your next article even though it may make better sense than the previous. Let's say you are into the business of writing and your pay is determined by the number of people that clicks. How much would you have lost if no one wants to click on your article to read?

As a writer, your mind must feel, perceive and think like an artist. Artist uses their imagination to a great limit to bring about an end product that is appreciated by many. And the mind is a writer's most potent tool.

Again, how many of you put the limit of your minds to a great depth of thinking? Maybe not so many but when you find one who's put their mind brilliantly to a piece of writing, you find the difference is clear from one who just horridly put some pieces together.

Now, let's find out the things a writer must know:

  • Having clear thought about what to write; one must never be in a hurry to publish an article. Take your time and think clearly about what you want to write about. Ask yourself, why do I want to write about such? The answer you were able to arrive at would determine your zeal towards that task.

  • You write because you have a passion for it; it is true everyone writes but it is also important to note that not everyone who writes can compose a meaningful article. You can say some are born writers but I believe with constant practice you can be good at what you do. Passion for what you wish to achieve is very important to get your writing goal to where it should be.

  • Know your audience; this is yet another very important point to note. Your audience must be the central point for your article formation. They are the reason for which you are writing in the first place. And it is still them that would read it. So write for them in a way that it is easy to grasp the content and also quell their curiosity

  • Following the laid down rules of the platform; they said obeying rules would keep you in the good books of those who place them. After all the rules are made to keep processes smoother and optimize whatever it is you writing. You can only succeed by keeping strictly by the rule because it helps you to bring your creativity out and show you to a larger audience.

  • Take a good rest when tired; writing could be tedious. To write one needs to think and present their ideas in a comprehensible way. And the process of thinking can be energy draining. When you feel you're getting tired it means your energy level is sapping. Take a rest, have yourself a drink and you can come back to writing when you're well-rested. Now you would be fresh in ideas and everything you seem to be writing would fall in line.

These are the things you should know as a writer.

I absolutely agree that is best to not be in a hurry to "just write another article" and to take regular rest breaks, from the writing process (as well as to avoid staring at computer screens all day long). Always try to enjoy what you are doing, too, and you may even write better when you're happy.

I love the fact that you said that we shouldn't rush whenever we're writing. Rushing will only spoil the article and it won't be in order

Rushing to finish up an article and then move on to another would only cause one to produce a poor article that readers would benefit Little or nothing from it. Never rushing into a piece of writing and doing it diligently is the way to go.
