Pet Peeve Pinpointed
October 14, 2022
In the middle of the night when everyone else is on the verge of their lucid dreams. When a mom finally felt relieved after hours and hours of swaying and humming with her little offspring. When an insomniac elderly has finally miraculously fallen asleep, a reckless driver passed by the road. Not only does he runs his motorcycle swiftly, but the sound of his motorcycle is also eardrum-breaking.
I couldn't grasp why some motorists prefer having loud sounds in their motorcycle exhausts. I'm not familiar with its technical term but I'm pretty sure you know what I mean. It's one of my pet peeves. Even though it's not nighttime, I'm irritated whenever I hear such a sound. I asked a boy friend why some motorists prefer to have those loud honks and I have just confirmed my intuition. He said it was cool. Then I asked further if he would like to attach a loud honk to his motorcycle. He answered, 'Yes'.
I find it selfish for motorists to have those loud motor exhausts or honk or whatever it is just to look cool. They haven't thought about the people that would be disturbed whenever they pass by. The thing is while we are pursuing our wants, we also have to consider how this would affect the people that surround us. Maybe it would be better if they connect a headset to their honk so they will only be the ones to hear the noise. It would be a hassle on our part if we would cover our ears with noise-cancelling headsets whenever these kinds of motorists are approaching.
As we live in the community, we are intended live harmoniously with each other. We must think that our actions would create a ripple effect on society whether we like it or not. The world is small. Each of us must do our fair share of sacrifice when we want to have a lasting and healthy relationship with the rest of the community.
I just hope people would understand that you can be cool even without changing your motorcycle exhaust. We can all be happy and harmonious when we would consider each other because living in a society entails understanding and respecting everyone's rights. Always remember that our rights ends where other people's rights begins.
That's about my Friday rumblings friends. How did your Friday go? Just hopping here for a minute and reading and living the moment. I'm excited about the weekend. How about you?
Thanks for reading. Until then.
