Handle Stress Like a Pro
April 3, 2022
Happy Sunday read-fam! It is the day again of the week wherein we are torn between enjoying the rest of the weekend or stressing about the next day. Sunday being the day before Monday carries some sort of burden or hard feeling. Unlike Saturday wherein we can freely be lazy, Sunday reminds us that it is the final day to be carefree because the next day will be another battle.
Some of the people I know hate Monday to the bones. The sound of the day alone makes them stressed knowing that they would have to see their bosses again. Are you like most of the people I know? Do you dislike Mondays too? Do you feel instantly stressed the moment you hear the word Monday? Worry no more! I have here few tips that I happen to bumped into at instagram posted by didoymd. Here are few ways to manage stress that you may want to check out!
Here are things you can do right now if you are stressed:
1.Watch a feel-good movie.
Nothing beats sitting on the couch watching a very light and feel-good movie. If you are not feeling yourself, just pick up a comedy movie or anything that you prefer and prepare some snacks while on it.
2.Do breathing exercise.
In the middle of a very-stressing activity, you can also pause, inhale and exhale. It would be nice to breath sometimes.
3.Take a short nap.
When everything seems heavy and you feel hopeless and all that you do seems to not work out well, you can take a nap. Give your brain a break and let it rest for at least a short period of time. Through napping, you can forget about the stress. You will also have a fresh mood when you wake up. In that way, you can think of better solutions for your problem.
Meanwhile here are medium-ter stress management tips:
1.Take a walk outside.
Probably the most underrated activity we could ever do. This is the activity which doesn't require extra equipments other than running shoes and a bottle of drinking water to keep you dehydrated.
2.Reflect and Journal
This should be part of everyone's day. Reflecting and journaling would really be a great help in sorting our emotions. It would give us peace and serenity to pause and reconnect with ourselves. See where you are at. Appreciate what you are and what you have done. Compliment yourself and note on which part you can do better.
3.Talk to a Good Friend
We may not have a bunch of real friends but a good talk with one good friend can really help our mental health. Having someone who can validate your feelings is so magical. Not to mention the joy you get when you get to spend time with a good friend. You will surely not run out of topics.
For long-term stress management, you can:
1.Make time for a hobby.
Doing something you love would relieve stress so it is a must to find your niche and nurture your gift. At the end of the day, when all of us feel tired, our hobbies will be our escape. That no matter how tired we are, we still make time for our hobbies like we can't do life without it.
2.Have a healthy diet.
I must say that this is probably every doctor's advice. The truth is most of the food we consume contributes to our stress. There are hormones that are awakened causing us to panic about our body figure and how we look like. Some foods trigger the ailments that are sleeping. So, it is advisable to discipline yourself and be as healthy as possible.
3.Work-out regularly.
You will surely feel good after working out. It gives a feeling of satisfaction when you know you beat yourself and your laziness. Most importantly, it is the best way to establish self-discipline, consistency and self-love.
There you go friends.
