Cooling Down
September 29 | Thursday
The University seemed to be a ghost town after the victory party of Intramural was held last night. The silence is deafening and you can only see a few students. It is like the time of the pandemic when only the staff and faculty are allowed to be on the university's premises.
The students might have been tired from the three-day streak of running and moving endlessly under the heat of the sun. Undoubtedly, most of them know are still in their bed, regaining their strength and making the most of their time to relax. The University didn't declare a time off for them today but it seems like they have all agreed to have a time off from school. It's like they are still getting rid of the Intramural feels and hangover.
Some of the faculty I know find it favourable for them to see no students today. Scratch that. There are still a minimal number of students today. You know, the students who still show up even if the majority decides not to show up. There are those kinds of students. The students are very particular with their academics and their grades.
Meanwhile, we went to the supermarket today to buy some supplies needed for tomorrow's event. There will be a celebration tomorrow to commemorate the 122nd Anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service. Our office is a partner with the Human Resource Office. Mainly the things that we are tasked to do are: preparing games for the event, facilitating the program, and being the technical team.
Today, we bought junk foods to be used as prizes for tomorrow's parlour games. The market is not flooded with people unlike during weekends so it took us only a few minutes to do the errand. I had fun picking the junk foods to be added to the cart. Some junk foods are as old as mine. Some are my old favourites. It's exciting to taste them all again.
I love junk food since I was a kid. I'm delighted to see these but they've also reminded me of the painful experience I had a week ago. I have to stop eating unhealthily as I don't want to feel the same pain again.
I want to have a healthy lifestyle so bad but the temptations are really strong that I always fail. I just hope that one day I would get to follow a strict healthy lifestyle for my good.
These days it's easy to satisfy cravings and follow the trend. It's convenient to eat in an instant as preparing meals requires time and effort. However, when our body would take their toll on us, we also have to be prepared to face the consequences of our bad habits.
Thanks for your time. Until then.
I'm a junk food junkie. Panu, yan, Mura?
