We are all heroes. We just need a perfect opportunity to showcase our superpower.
My favorite superhero is Iron Man but my heart goes to Spiderman. You can't blame me, three handsome and great actors portrayed Spidey! And they all slay the role (for me). Spidey or Peter Parker is just a normal pal living his life when an incident happened and made him our friendly neighborhood.
Same goes for Iron Man, he was a genius, billionaire, playboy, and philanthropist (as what he calls himself) that was living his life until he was kidnapped. His life was in danger and to escape he used his 'genius mind' to create an armored suit that eventually helped him save the world, the universe rather.
See? Even these superheroes are normal people first. In real life, you don't need such a superpower or too much money to become a hero. What you need is a brave heart with a just mindset and a gentle hand. Real-life superheroes are born with integrity and a kind heart. Those who are willing to lend a hand to those who are in need. Those who are willing to risk their lives to save others. Those who are making us laugh in times of devastating situations. Those who are brave enough to face their fears in order to save others. Those small acts that you do everyday may look simple and ordinary for you but to others, they are not.
Aling Glo
It was 2009 when Metro Manila was hit by a Super Typhoon named Ondoy. Many families were stranded in their houses with no food, medicines and water due to floods everywhere. Many lives were taken away too. Our family was not exempted from this. We were living in a bungalow back then. Our place was never been flooded so we were complacent that we were in a safe place. My sister just gave birth to my niece at that time. She just came back from the hospital. It was nonstop raining overnight. So I decided not to go to school the next morning. I was still studying in college when that happens. The next morning, we were shocked that there's already a flood near our area. My father started to pack some important things. I also helped in packing too. We are almost set but one thing was still bothering us, my sister and her baby. There were no barangay officials during that time. We had no idea if we will be evacuated or not. Then suddenly, we heard a knock on our door. It was our neighbor, Aling Glo. She was our landlady. Her house has a second floor. She offered help. She let our family stay in their house until the flood subsides. But her kindness didn't end there. The next morning when things seemed better, she gave us a meal and helped in cleaning the remains of the typhoon. She also helped some of our neighbors who were affected too.
She's been like that, always. Kind, generous and full of spirit. I remember she will always give us banana cue for afternoon snacks. Then every time she will go to her province to visit her family, she always give us sweet delicacies from their town. I will never forget Aling Glo. We don't live in that neighborhood anymore but we are still in touch with her and her family.
Before anything else, check these awesome people's works too. They all rock!
It just takes one big shot so we can unleash the superpower we have. Most of the time, our superpowers are being revealed when we are in a tough situation.
Closing Thoughts
We are all heroes, not in our eyes but with others. Continue spreading the kindness you are doing. You just don't realize you are already saving a life thru that.

Salute for Aling Glo. 😎 do you know where she is or how she is now? That's sad that there are now places that gets flooded. Everything really change in time. So we should always expect for the unexpected. And we should also start caring for our environment. Also we should also start being a hero to anyone or everyone.
