We Are in the City!
I can't remember the last time we were in the city and that's a good thing, my husband and I aimed not to go to the city for weeks or months but if I think of it, I guess the last time we did so was back before Matt's birthday so I guess it's been almost a month.
Our unplanned trip here is that my parents are about to travel to Dumaguete tomorrow for their passport renewal. I might have mentioned it before that they are joining us for our Singapore trip in October. I already booked a ticket for them and my parents are excited to travel out of the country with us.
My parents are seniors, my mother just turned 62 years old while my father is 65 years old. For me, it is just right for them to enjoy their senior years and one way to do so is to get them to travel outside the country.
When the opportunity knocked and my father confirmed they can join us for a few days, I booked a ticket immediately. Mine and my husband's tickets are paid for by their company while we have to pay for Matti because each employee can only bring one additional person for free, if the employee wants to bring more, it will be at his or her expense.
So, now, because my parents' passports were already expired, they have to get them renewed as soon as possible. I mentioned that when we got our passports renewed before in May this year, it took more or less a month of waiting before it got delivered so I already advised them to go to Dumaguete City as soon as possible. Still, because my father had some open wound in his left leg, it took some time to work on it as he still has to wait for the wound to heal.
I actually thought my father is diabetic because the wound was not healing for days but thankfully when he went for a checkup and got his sugar levels tested, it was all normal.
Now, after getting medicines and applying them for two days, the wound somehow is healing and he is able to walk well now, there's pain once in a while but he is better than a few days ago.
So, yeah, we are now in Tagbilaran City and I suggested they go to Dumaguete for the renewal of their passports because it is less chaotic over there compared to Cebu plus, my mother's brother is also there, it is an opportunity for them to see each other too.
From Tagbilaran going to Dumaguete takes around two hours. The trip schedule keeps changing so it was good that we went to the ticketing office as soon as we arrived in the city to buy tickets and make sure of the timing.
Instead of their usual 9:30 AM trip from Tagbilaran to Dumaguete, Oceanjet had changed it to 10:30 AM instead which means, they will reach Dumaguete past noontime and they have to get the passport renewals done on that same day.
I suggested that they bring some food on the boat while traveling so they won't go hungry as they still have to travel from the port going to Robinsons Mall where the office of the Department of Foreign Affairs is located.
So after getting their tickets, we headed to Kenny Rogers for dinner. This is Bohol's first Kenny Rogers restaurant! The food was really good and we all finished the chicken, my mother commented how good the chicken and even Matti ate a lot of their roasted chicken too! Unfortunately, the quesadilla was not available.
Then we are now staying at my brother's house. My husband and I together with Matti won't be traveling back home yet. We will wait until my parents come back from Dumaguete by Tuesday so we will be staying here for the next two days. I am quite excited because I see some new establishments in the Tagbilaran. I will try to visit them. Kenny Rogers is down so I will try to visit Seattle's Best and an unlimited Samgyupsal restaurant too nearby.
Already, that's it for today guys! I noticed that Rusty is a bit absent in the past few days, I hope he'll be back soon!
