A few might say, combining work with leisure is difficult, it might cause conflicts. But when a chance of making the two work together, I know you will also grab that chance.
WORK
Our program conducted an Extension Activity to Happy Fish Kids Center. I had an article about Happy Fish Kids published months ago - Introducing to you Happy Fish Kids. Now, we are able to conduct an activity titled "Training for Center In-charge and Assistants on Proper Way of Handling Computers and Production of IEC Materials for Proper Computer Use". The said activity aims to help the center in-charge together with the center assistants to be familiar with the proper utilization and care for the computers.
A week ago, our program had a meeting on what things to prepare, who will be the speakers and in-charge of committees. We worked for each task and were able to conduct the activity with grace and determination.
We were able to train 5 center in-charge and assistants on the proper way of handling computers and basic way of taking care of it. Our faculty members were able to share their knowledge.
Aside from the training, we also conduct periodic maintenance of computers in the Center. Our technician lead the checking of hardware and updating software of the computers.
We also distributed brochure to be participants regarding proper computer care for them to read and be reminded of the things that they should do.
The participants were able also to participate in the training by allowing them to clean the computer units themselves.
After the training, they were able to share their learning insights, on what are the things they have learned and what trainings are they looking forward to. Aside from that, they were able also to express how grateful they are for the opportunity of attending the training.
We concluded the activity with a picture taking of participants and facilitators.
LEISURE
After a half day of work, we were able to have a bonding time with my workmates. Happy Fish Kids center is very near to the beach. The community is taking care of the seashore, and it is very clean and the beach is calling us to swim.
We had our lunch in a cottage, and talk things related to work and life. Moments of bonding with colleagues is really rare for us. So we really grab this opportunity that we can have leisure after work.
We enjoyed the rest of the hours for swimming in the beautiful, free and pristine beach of Taganilao, Mati City.
Closing thoughts
There should be a balance between work and relaxation. Too much work would not be good, one needs to relax through different activities. In this day of work and leisure, we make sure that we make the work done first before our personal relaxation time. We were able to maximize our time and resources.
