Hello beautiful people!
I hope you all are doing fine amidst of the shortcomings and uncertainties we may feel day by day. Always remember that a positive life is a happy life. β¨
That was last June this year when our company decided to assist us on getting vaccinated when vaccines were finally available in our country. At first, I was very hesitant to have it as there were a lot of issues coming through to those who get vaccinated. I was afraid that same thing may happen to me as well. That is why it took me weeks to decide to finally have it.
Last July 27, our supervisor sent us the registration form for the last batch that will be accommodated by the company. Without further thinking, I signed up on it and just waited for our HR to message me for my schedule.
I've been checking my email from time to time to see if I already have a schedule for the vaccination, and just last August 26, I received an email about my vaccination date. That was yesterday, August 27. It took one month for me to finally get my vaccination.
Yesterday was actually not my day off, but my supervisor allowed me to be absent for me to have a good rest first before getting vaccinated. So I took a good rest and condition myself before having the vaccine. I was very nervous yesterday, not because of the vaccine but because I will be by myself going to the vaccination site. I am not used to be alone especially I will be having two rides. I am not good in directions that I may be lost along the way. Good thing I didn't.
I took a jeepney from our home, then took another ride with CIBUS going to the main site. It was such a long ride, good thing there's no heavy traffic in the city that time. I arrived at the vaccination site at 11:30 AM and was surprised to see a long line of people wanting to get vaccinated. I never thought it was that long.
While waiting on the line, we were given forms to get filled up. It was a little hassle as from time to time we were moving from one sit to another and were not able to finish the form to be filled up right away. But still we bear with it.
Finally, at around 2:00 PM I got to reach step 1. Yes, that was that long. From 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, I am still on Step 1. There were six steps actually and it was not a problem anymore as the process was smooth on that part already. They get our personal information and a short interview and check out our blood pressure, oxygen level, and heart rate. Good thing, I have a normal result.
After checking a lot of things, I did not expect that I will be vaccinated already. I even asked the nurse, "Hala, magtusok na diay?" (Am I getting vaccinated now?) They just said yes and prepare my shot.
And finally, after I guess two seconds? I got my first dose of Pfizer vaccine. I was so happy to finally having it after putting a lot of thought on it. It was such an achievement for me.
So after getting my shot at exactly 2:38 PM, we have a mini seminar to at least check up on us if ever there will be some side effects that will happen and while waiting, we were educated about the use of the vaccine, what to do if ever we experienced some severe side effects and checked our blood pressure again. And set us for our next dose of vaccine. That will be on September 17.
After the mini seminar, we were finally discharged from the vaccination site.
It was such a long day for me that I thought of doing window shopping but decided not to because I may forgot the time and knowing that I still need to take two rides. So I just get my first ride with CIBUS again and ate on the first stop as I was very hungry lining up for hours on the site.
And there, I got home at around 5:00 PM in the afternoon.
To get vaccinated was not really on my plan before. It just came to my mind that what if time will come that they will allow people to go to places without getting quarantined anymore. That was the thought I have as I really wanted to go home to our province. I just wanted to relax my mind there and be away from the city for at least two weeks. Hopefully, soonest they will allow it.
One more thing, if you think of getting vaccinated, you can do it now. And if not, no need to rush. It was not mandatory anyway and it will still be your choice to have it. You know your bodies capability more than anyone else. And that is fine. I just considered this one as an achievement for me as I did not depend on the decision I will make from others. I decide it with myself and with my liking. And I thought as well that I will be having a Sinovac vaccine but ended up with Pfizer. Anyway, as they always say, "The best vaccine is the available one."
And just an update for today, I do not feel any severe side effects. I just feel like my left arm which was pierced by the needle feels so heavy, but over all I am fine.
That's all for today beautiful people. Let's interact. Stay safe always! Xoxo β¨βΊοΈ

I am so glad you got vaccinated wee singer, although it does seem complicated there. I just turned up , got the injection and left, then went back eight weeks later and the same thing. Well done, if everyone gets it then we can beat Covid.
