Crossing The Line..

We are all advised to be modest in all that we do because even the littlest of things can be abused when we go extreme or over the bar. Today, I'll be taking another path in the topic of extremism. I say this because I am not just talking about being extreme with the way we use things but I want to actually dwell on extremity in the religious sector.

I have been pondering on how to maintain an abstract state of mind that is void of emotions as I write this article because I feel that being emotional will invite sentiments and thereby reduce the efficacy of this article's goal which is to educate and remind the readers what their religion should be about.

I am a Christian, therefore I only have indebt knowledge about what Christianity preaches as do most other christians who walk the surface of the planet. Only very few take it upon themselves to try and understand other religion while others do not see the need.

So I'll focus more on the flaws in the Christian religion, using it as an extension to others which are Islam and traditional religions. At least, these are the main 3 I was taught back then in primary school.

One thing that happens within Christianity itself is the need to be above another. You hear people slander one church and praise another, talk down about this and that forgetting that the we share one belief and system of worship.

Sadly, this is not only limited within Christianity but it has began to spread across the different religions that there are in the world and I believe this is the cause of the problem.

It now seems like there is a competition and because of this, there's a struggle to be the one and only religion or should I say the struggle to hold the number one spot and eliminate all others. That's why today you hear Islam wants to wipe out Christianity and the reverse. Even traditional religion is not left out as some villages do not allow others worship any other God apart from the known god.

Having thought about it, the above reason is why extremists in religiosity were birthed. These people have taken it upon themselves to defend their cause no matter what it takes. To these people, Religion is now like a secret cult where if you offend one of their member they hunt you down and deal with you, only that this time all you have to do is even less than offend one to get the full hit of all.

It's shocking how religion that is supposed to preach peace now starts full blown war and not flinch.

Just like the sky accommodates all birds why can all religions coexist? Why must there be this unending and unspoken war that is always looking for a way to break forth.

What's funny is that every religion that we belong in is by choice and preaches choice, why then do we want to impose our beliefs on one another? Why can't we just accept that this is a person's choice and let them live like that?

No religion preaches killing! So why would anyone kill another just because they said something that didn't go down well with the other party? This is devilish and outrightly demonic.

I know Christianity says thou shalt not kill and islam offers a right to life where it says that man needs protection and is sacred.

It doesn't matter the extent of what another says about your beliefs, they should not be punished and killed over it. It's not right.

A young girl was killed a few weeks ago over something she said on a social media group. Despite the fact that I believe she could have said what she said in a better manner, but no matter how she said it death was not the option for her.

Religious extremism is not a job or a title, and I don't think there's any reward in heaven for destroying life and property over a belief.

Let's draw the line between being faithful and being and extremist. Some people can't hear you talk about their religion without switching into combat mode. Let's all become sensitive of these two things

• It's by choice, so don't castigate other people for their choice and anger them in the process..

• Don't kill anyone or destroy properties in the name of defending your beliefs.

• Right now CAN that is christian association of Nigeria and PFN Pentecostal fellowship Nigeria is not happy with the outcome of that girl's death and something supposed to be trivial has turned into chaos...

I'm wondering why rain has decided to pour down everyday. Although I like the weather, I just wish it would not pour like 3 times in one day..
