Hello, my readcash families.

Today is another day to wake up and appreciate our existence on the surface. Life is so cool. When we are reminded of some things in life than we actually feel like there is nothing left in this world of ours. That's just life for us.

Another Friday again. Just like the blink of the eyes when we started another beautiful week. Monday came around like yesterday and tomorrow will be the weekend again.

One thing I am always grateful for is being among those who are privileged to witness another day on earth.

While I was thinking about a topic to write on. I remembered a topic we were taught in our general studies when I was in my first year at university. The topic was about BYPASSING.

At first, merely looking at the topic I thought I could actually get the meaning once. Since it's just a simple combination of "By" and "Pass". So my silly thoughts or childish definition 🤣 was that when someone passes you by means bypass.

Then I proceeded to the topic content and it was just an amazing read because I got to know the true meaning to bypass in communication was that I already bypassed the meaning for another thing. 😆

Bypassing: Different words have different meanings to different people. Bypassing happens when two people attach different meanings to the same word.

So that was the actual meaning of bypassing communication. I gave it a different meaning compared to the actual meaning. Bypassing occurs at almost all levels of communication, be it formal or informal.

Bypassing could also be termed miscommunication or word conflict. So in this case while communicating it's always best to make sure we try passing our message across to the receiver in a way that they would understand the nuances of the message in context.

Effective communication is just at its best when we try using concrete words and we are also vocal enough. Be it orally or in text, we should also make sure we are giving away the correct spelling and pronunciation. We can also express ourselves through signs just to give effective communication.

Bypassing could cause conflict. There are many cases whereby one of the communicators receives the word in a wrong way then they would give it a different meaning compared to the actual meaning the sender meant.

There was a day when I was in a conversation with one of my friends and everything was going fine not until I mentioned a word then everything changed. He didn't hear what I said so I asked him maybe his sore throat was the reason why he couldn't hear me. "Is your sore throat affecting your hearing?" That was what I asked him with the expectation of hearing a yes or no from him.

He never replied to me, so I noticed he was acting strange towards me. I approached him to ask what happened. Then he said what I told him earlier was totally wrong. He felt like how would I use the word "affect" assuming I never said that word it would have been better.

I tried explaining to him that what I meant was that while he keeps cracking his throat I am not sure If it would temper his hearing. I never meant to abuse him.

He already bypassed my words for abuse. So when I got to explain myself was when he realized he bypassed my words.

Bypassing happens at all levels. In the textbook I read, bypassing could also happen through material things. If it is said that when you give an average Nigerian a wristwatch for their birthday, it means nothing and they would cherish it. But when this same wristwatch is gifted to a Chinese person they would see you as a bad person because they termed gifting of wristwatches as giving them a timer to the end of their life.

You just thought us another meaning of this word. Mere people like us would just give it the normal explain of workover or maneuver. 🤪🤪

Oh so it's like a miscommunication or misalignment of perspective. I get it haha. Well that happens a whole lot. We should learn to not take words seriously. They are nothing but futility of the tongue.
