An estimated reading time feature has been added to articles on read.cash. You should have noticed this change reflected across articles on the site.
Read time is the estimation of the time taken by a reader to read an article. This is a usability feature that is ideally designed to keep the user on the page longer by letting them know about how long it will take them to read the article.
Read time is based on the average reading speed of an adult which is about 228 (± 30) words per minute (WPM). The total word count of a post is translated into minutes. Then, adjustments are made for images.
It can be very useful for readers to know how much time they can expect to spend on an article before they engage.
Estimating read time
To estimate the article’s reading time, the number of words is divided that by the defined WPM. The parameters affecting the reading time of an article include the length of words, duration of word pronunciation, font type and size, reader's age, whether you’re reading on a monitor or paper, and even the number of paragraphs, images, and links in the article.
Users' Reactions
I think there is a connection of the reading time to the points. Maybe the site can detect the time of when you opened the article and when you will leave it, so that they can determine if you read the whole article before commenting something in it.@Eirolfeam2
...as for the reading time I think it's the solution for your concern few days ago, for the users who only take a glimpse of an article, get the idea and give some irrelevant comments. @Makkyy6275
It seems to me a good strategy to place "estimated reading time" of an article, I suppose that when it comes to scoring the reader this will affect them, if you meet the estimated time and also make a comment according to the publication they will score you well. @aleja
I don't think this feature was necessary. There is enough problem to deal with in Read Cash now... There are many more problems we are going through. So, avoiding/ignoring them and adding new feature is seemed weird to me. Donbt know what they will make fuction of the feature. Is it a fancy option only or has some power too🙄🙄. Who knows? I doubt if the timing on the articles has anything to do with our getting points. It is the same as in publishOx where the timing just shows how long it would take to read it. Some read really slow, others read really fast. I am a fast reader. I think read cash would have taken that into consideration. @Leo_kitti
the new features is okay with me as I really read even how long it's just that my points is freeze again I guess 😆 hope it can resolve soon. @leejhen
It feels motivating to see these changes - it shows that this platform has not been forgotten or abandoned by the developers :) I think the reading time is a good addition for those who read. It gives an estimated time and if you have no time to read, you can read the shorter read time first and come back to the longer ones which will still be under the unread notifications. @marblely
Let me not bore you with more reactions and comments from users regarding the new feature - Read point.
Keep in mind that the read.cash estimated read time is just that: an estimation. You might finish an article faster or slower depending on various factors such as how many children or dogs/cats you have, how fast you are, eye vision status, distractions, your age, your caffeine/alcohol intake, and many more. They just want to give you a figure so you can decide whether you have time to read one more story before you sleep, or if you should save it for later.
What do you think about the new feature? Since the update I have earned just 9.6 points, does it have anything to do with it? What's your opinion?

I'm just glad the freezing period is over. Lol. Two days without a single point.
About the timing, let's just see how it goes...
