Hi everyone how's your day? I just woke up and suddenly thought that i should finish my continuation of my previous article entitled "Do you remember? Games i played during my childhood days". If you haven't read it yet feel free to click the title :)
Continuation :
Patintero
It is a game where players will draw a shape of rectangle using chalk and put a line inside it or others will used the line in the ground if there is. The players should team up and each team containd of 5 members. The goal of the team is to get past the lines and the opposite team will guard that line, there are guards who face front and back and one is perpendicular. Be careful not to touch by the guards.
"Luksong baka"
Luksong baka is played by many kids during my childhood. This one is played by using our own body. One should stand as "it" then then bend himself forward be careful with your heads when playing this one, it should be inserted a bit inside so that others will not hit it. I rarely played this game since im scared i might hit the head of the "it" or fall onto the ground hehe. But this one is fun.
Luksong tinik
This one is like a luksong baka. I called them siblings hehe. But un luksong tinik you will use your hands and feet see photo above. The levels will go higher so the players will need to jump higher in able to pass. I preferred this one compared to luksong baka.
Piko (Hopscotch)
In order to play this game, you need to have a chalk or charcoal and draw a big rectangle on the ground with lines inside of it see the photo above. The players should have a "pamato" or small stone or rubber or anything that serves a "palatandaan"/sign on what level are you already. I love this one because when you reached all the levels then you will able to build a house my throwing your "pamato" inside the rectangle and wherever it falls that is your house and no one will going to step on that.
Agawan base
This one is like a tag game. Players should team up into 2 and need to have a base be it a tree trunk, rock or woods. They should guard their base. When a player tried to run onto your territory the opposite player can tag it and they will become a prisoner their team mates should rescue them by tapping their hands.
Bahay bahayan
We can play this inside or outside our house. This one doesn't required physical activities a lot unlike the games i mentioned above. When playing this, there are person who acts as mother in the family doing things like cooking, taking care of kids and such. I remember we used to get leaves and put it in the stick like a barbecue we grilled it imagining it was real hehe.

Message :
Our childhood is indeed memorable when we experienced these games. We gained friends. But sad to say, nowadays most of kids are enjoying this modern world become addicted with gadgets and online games. Isolate themselves with gadgets in their hands. They will not going to experience what we've experienced back then. Also, one of the reason why some of the kids didn't enjoy these games anymore is because of the pandemic where we advise to stay at home especially the kids.
I hope when the world become better and back to normal again games like these will continue to exist and children will continue playing it.
