You just have to work for it

Howdy folks 🤠 how was your weekend? Mine was quite cold with a little bit of rainfall throughout the day, I didn't even see the sun at all. As usual, I spent a major part of my day doing coding and I actually started a new side project today, I am going to try and clone this website 😁 I know I won't be able to get everything right, but I will be able to remake most of it.

Anyway, I was on Whatsapp earlier today to reply to some messages and at one point I started looking at the status updates of some of my contacts. It's a bad habit I can't seem to stop because I tend to get carried away whenever I do that and I end up watching tons of videos, and those things consume data a lot! (It's like the younger sibling of TikTok). But the good thing with it is that I came across a picture that is the reason behind this article

Faith without work is dead

There's something I have observed in a lot of people in my country and that's their love for prayers. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying it's bad to pray but it shouldn't be the solution to every problem. I get confused whenever I come across a problem that the solution can be figured out, but people will decide to just pray about it and leave the whole thing in God's hands.

Why will you just pray about it and instantly believe things will be ok when you can actually do something about it? The worst ones are those whose pastor told them that everything will be fine and they should just have Faith, and they go back home to really sit and wait for things to be fine. Take for example, someone that is looking for a job goes to meet his pastor and the pastor told him that he will have a job soon, he should just have Faith.

This person goes back home with optimism in his heart that he will have a job soon, but he does nothing to get that job. He just went with the words of his pastor and decided to just wait for his prayers to be answered, meanwhile he is fully capable of going out there to look for work, maybe he is waiting for angels to bring an employment letter to his house?

Things like this have even caused some people to lose their life. I remember a case of a baby who needed a blood transfusion urgently or else she will lose her life but the parents refused because it was against their belief but instead, they invited people to come pray so that their baby will be miraculously healed.

Thanks to the state government who quickly intervened and took the baby from the parents and gave her proper medical attention, she would have lost her life if that didn't happen. Another case I heard of many years ago was a pregnant woman who was in labor but was having complications, so a caesarian section (CS) was recommended but the family refused!

It was against their beliefs, instead of agreeing about it, they decided to keep praying so she will deliver the normal way. The lady was in labor for hours and it quickly went into days but the family still refused the CS, and what was the result? She and the baby died, they died because of the foolishness of the family.

Another good example of faith without works is something I found out in the university. Some people take church more seriously than their academic life, you hardly see them in class but they are always found in every church service and programs around the university, and you begin to wonder if they are even students.

Even when exams are approaching, they are still more focused on going to church. Ask them if they are not going to read their books for the incoming exam and they will tell you; "I can't fail when I have God". Isn't that a foolish thing to say? What exactly are they going to pray for when they haven't been reading? Are they going to pray to God to show them the answers while in the exam hall?

It's one thing to do your part and leave the rest up to God, but it's a totally different case to not put in any effort at all and still expect a miracle. It's just like you're trying to help someone up on their feet and the person is not even putting in an effort to stand up on their own, they are just waiting for you to do all the work, will you still help someone with an attitude like that?

Let's bring it home a little bit and use readcash as an example. Let's assume you onboard someone onto this platform and you are acting as a mentor to them, sharing their links on your articles and announcing them to everyone but you notice the person is not even engaging with other users and they are not consistent with writing, will you continue offering help to them?

Some of us don't even need to assume because something like that has happened to us. We bring in someone new and show them how things are done while helping them out since they are still new, but they sit back and relax while we try to grow their account for them, they put in little to no effort to grow their account simply because they believe someone good is helping them out, so why should they even bother?

But the truth is that attitude is a big turn-off to anybody that wants to help. People love to see someone trying to succeed on their own, that's when people will be more than willing to help even before you ask. They already see you have the zeal to succeed and you are working hard to see it through and that's how faith truly works. You don't plant tomatoes and keep praying for them to grow into maturity, you have to put in the work and nurture it so you can reap the fruits.

Thanks for reading 💖💖💖

This has to do with a story I once wrote here, they brought a dying man to wait for pastor and pastor was not around, they waited till about 10hours and the man died under a mango tree.

Yes, faith heals all but wisdom demands that medicine or Medical attentions should not be neglected

Yeah I remember that story, there are a lot of foolish people like that. Having faith doesn't mean they should just fold their hands and be waiting for things to improve when they know they can start fixing it by themselves

Isn't it was supposed to your best and let God do the rest?

Exactly, but some people will rather leave everything to God without putting in their own effort

And rant after that God didn't grant their prayer
