Exposed by Wednesday
Hey People! You had a cool Wednesday I guess.
Mine went well and I had some funny experiences I would to share.
There was Light all through yesterdaye's night(Tuesdays's night) but I had to sleep because I was so tired. meanwhile there were clothes to iron, so I woke up as early as 4:00am to attend to the clothes which I did till 8:00am. After ironing I put a call through to the owners of the clothes(customers) to come and collect them but they said that should be later.
My brother left for school very early after cooking a "casual Jollof Rice". You know that kinda mixture, right?. Since I'd be at home all through the day I planned not to starve my stomach but what he prepared chased away my appetite. I'm not fond of that kinda rice, so it's no go area for me.
Around 8:30am, I brought out clothes to wash and as I was washing, I was thinking on what to prepare since i can't eat that rice that my brother prepared. The washing didn't take much time but was interrupted oftentimes with greetings from passersby who have not seen me for a while.
I went to the market
After washing, I decided to visit a nearby small market to get raw food items to prepare soup. Just at the entrance of the market, the market women started hailing me saying Happy New year bla bla bla. It's been 7months I last visited the market so they were surprised seeing me after a long while. I was a embarrassed because their shouts made People in the market to gaze their eyes on me. I had to kill the moment by working fast to Meet the woman. I bought fish and vegetables and left without wasting time even when one of them was trying to hold me by asking where I have been since all these while.
I prepared the soup.
I got home and straight to the kitchen I did justice to the slicing of the okro, did the magic and within an hour my pot of soup was ready to be devoured. Thank God we still have garri(cassava flake), so I boiled hot water and made a little quantity I know I could finish. The soup is so sweet that I was eating and sweating. I didn't believe I would be able to make a sweet soup like this because I haven't prepared a soup for the past 8months, my brother has been the one doing the kitchen work and whenever he's not around and I'm at home, I usually run a quickie food such as beans, noodles or rice.
After eating I did some reading here and before I knew it I slept off even when I targeted reading 20articles before retiring, I tempted myself though because instead of me to use the chair and table, I decided to lay down on bed.
I found out that I can not make Semovita (wheat flour)
After the long sleep, I woke up very hungry like someone that fought a war in dream.
I looked and found my soup so enchanting so I made up my mind to enjoy the soup again but this time around I'm not using cassava flake but wheat flake.
If you know these two you'll know that there's a big difference in making them into solid swallowable form. I'm very familiar with the cassava flake because that was what I was brought up with but very far from the wheat flake.
There's no harm in trying, so I brought the sachet out and wanted to use my initiative to prepare it but a tiny voice from nowhere told me to browse on how to prepare it otherwise I'd waste it.
No time to waste, I quickly entered YouTube to check and I found series of videos. The first one was a very young lady (should be 20-23years) and the second was a well matured woman, I quickly opened the video of the woman because if I should go for the young girl, she'd say more of herself to what she's supposed to demonstrate. You know how ladies behave 🧐
Yeah, let's go! I followed all the instructions but I ended up making something different from semo. " What's this na? I followed all the processes she mentioned why is this one different?" I questioned the genuineness of her teachings. I had to pack and throw the rubbish away.
It dawned on me that's it true, I can't make semo. I began to wonder how guys make it with ease because I had a friend way back, that usually make Semovita and calls me to feast on it.
This still shows that practicing remains the best way to master anything. Since I still have the pack of Semovita remaining, I'd be practicing from time to time till I master it. Because I love it when I boast that I can cook anything.
This same thing goes to preparation of pap, some said "you need the grace of God" to make pap. It's not a lie because I've experienced that before.
Thanks for reading my rants.
