My "Would you Rather"
I am actually drafting a different article which I supposedly publish today. But then when I saw this random "Would You Rather" questions posted by @Fyangzee24 , I've got an interest of publishing this as well tonight so I am not that late with the trend. https://read.cash/@Fyangzee24/would-you-rather-7e0654f0
I generated my random would you rather questions from this link. https://randomwordgenerator.com/would-you-rather-question.php
**Would you rather have free coffee or free ice-cream for the rest of your life?**
Free coffee of course!. Cause coffee is life. My day will not be complete without at least a single cup of coffee. I used to sip a cup of coffee during breakfast cause it help wake up my sleeping brain cells.
In fact, before pandemic, as soon as I arrive the office, I will immediately go to the pantry to get a cup of coffee. I love to drink coffee while catching up with my mails at the start of my shift. And after lunch, coffee has also been my dessert.
**Would you rather kiss a poisonous snake or a crocodile?**
I think I will choose crocodile. Cause if the poisonous snake has ever bitten me while I am attempting to kiss him/her, my life is at stake automatically. There are venom that will cause immediate paralyze or immediate death to the victim. Whereas if a crocodile attempted to bite me, I have a chance to avoid its bite. And maybe, I will kiss crocodile in a spot like the tail or any part of his body that's far from his mouth.
**Would you rather spend the rest of your life underwater or underground?**
I will rather spend the rest of my life underwater provided that I am able to breath underwater. There are lots of lovely living things under water as compared to the underground where you might see insects, or worms, etc. Underwater species are more lovely than underground animals/insects.
I would rather see the thousands of colorful fishes swimming around.
I would rather love to see the beautiful corals under the water.
I would rather love to accompany the dolphins flying above the water.
**Would you rather give up pizza or give up coffee forever?**
Oh no!
This is a very difficult question for me. I love pizza but I also love Coffee.
After thinking for about 1 minute, I have decided to give up the pizza rather than coffee. I believe I can still find some food that I love in replacement of pizza. Number one in my list is DONUT. I love to partner coffee with donut, so I guess I am okay to give-up pizza at all.
**Would you rather give up social media or Netflix?**
I would never give-up Netflix of course cause I won't be able to watch the next season of Money Heist if I will give it up.
I used to live without social media before way back when I was a kid since there's no internet that time yet. So I believe I can still do the same and survive without Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. as long as I have unlimited Netflix movies in front of me.
**Would you rather find a dream partner or a dream job?**
I already found my dream partner but if in case I don't have my partner yet? Of course I will choose a partner over my dream job. I don't want to grow old alone cause I am also afraid to be alone.
**Would you rather be poor but everyone loves you or a billionaire and nobody likes you?**
Of course I will rather choose to be poor but everyone loves me. I don't need a money if my life is full of loneliness. Money can't buy happiness. Money can't buy true love and money can't buy your contentment in life when you have all your love ones loving you back.
**Would you rather have all your food over seasoned or under seasoned?**
I will choose an under seasoned food over an over seasoned. Why? Cause for under seasoned food, I can use some condiments to adjust the taste. It is easier to fix the taste of an under seasoned food than an over seasoned ones.
**Would you rather have a job where you sit all day or a job where you stand all day?**
I think over these two, I will choose a job where I can sit all day rather than standing all day. In standing, you can easily feel the tiredness whereas with sitting, you spend lesser energy and hence you cannot easily feel exhausted or tired. You can conserve more energy when sitting as compared to when standing.
**Would you rather be able to take a shower whenever you want but the water pressure is always really low or take the perfect shower but only be able to do it once a month?**
Given our tropical weather here in the Philippines, I would rather choose taking a shower despite the very low pressure of water. I think I won't survive if I don't take a bath in a week - how much more for more than a week.
Maybe I'll choose the latter if I am residing in a cold place like Alaska.
As long as I wanted to answer more "would you rather" questions, I think this is long enough for my readers. So I will leave you to answer the other "would you rather" questions from this site if in case you're interested to try as well. https://randomwordgenerator.com/would-you-rather-question.php

Benefits of Being Lazy
Being Lazy is natural!. Admit it or not, all of us will have this day or time that we don't want to do anything at all.
Our mind doesn't function at all and all we want is to lay in bed and relax all we want.
That's why there are what we are so called "Lazy Sunday, Lazy Day, Lazy Bed, and so on."
I guess most of us here knows about Bruno Mars "The Lazy Song" which describes how does being lazy feels. Have a listen to it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLexgOxsZu0
I thought of writing this article about benefits of laziness because I suddenly remember my former subordinate who is good in automation, good in excel formulas and macros.
When I gave compliment to one of his works, he replied back to me and said:
*"Tamad kasi ako ate Khing kaya mahilig akong gumawa ng paraan para mas dumali ang trabaho"*
And then I suddenly bumped into the below statements quoted by **Robert A. Heinlein** - an American science fiction author, aeronautical engineer, and naval officer.
***“Progress isn’t made by early risers. It’s made by lazy men trying to find easier ways to do something.”***
While to some, "laziness" describes person's negative traits, there's also advantages and positive outcome or result of becoming lazy.
Laziness can lead a person to think of Smart Solutions, in other word, automations.
Lazy people always love to do a shortcut. They always find ways to complete a task easily without exerting more effort to it than what a normal people do.
My former subordinate is my perfect example of this. Since he don't want to do a repetitive work, he tend to think of automating them instead of manually performing the checks or manually doing the task in a daily basis.
When you are required to do a repetitive tasks in a daily basis, you will lose your interest and thus resulted into "you" being too lazy to do it over and over again right? Eventually, you'll going to treat it as a "no brainer task".
Let's say for example, opening and closing the door every time someone's about to leave and about to enter. Why do this if you can actually automate it? There are motion sensors available in the market which can be used to detect if someone's approaching the door. It saves time and effort.
In my line of work, automation is one of our main objective or goal - automating stuffs that are repetitive which eventually reduces effort or manpower.
Due to automations, company saves a lot. It is actually one of the efficient way of cost reduction.
Laziness keep a person away from being exhausted
You might have already heard this statement *"Di bale nang tamad, di naman pagod"*.
Well, this is just a joke for others but if we'll just think of it, it makes sense right?
Since lazy person tend to take regular break, they will have enough time to recharge their mind and body.
They will have plenty of time to restore their energy. Actually they will not felt tired at call cause they spend more time on taking break than their job - ***"Mas madami pa ang pahinga kesa gawa"***. Only, the downside is, they are too less productive. But again - ***"Hindi naman pagod".***
Laziness can help manage stress
Why? If you are away from the thing that contributes to your stress (for example your work), it help you cope with your stress right?
I once became an I.T developer during my Accenture days. I've been a mainframe developer (Cobol - DB2). As an IT developer, we used to create/update a program or number of programs depending on the business requirements.
For example, if the company introduced a new option to the user interface, let's say a "Register button", we, the IT programmers or developers do the coding and instructs the system on what shall it do as soon as the user clicks the "Register button".
I do noticed most of my colleagues are taking a break whenever they're already stressed or stuck with their codes.
And hence, one day, my seatmate asked my other colleague to go for a break cause he's already stuck and stressed cause his code is not working and keep on failing.
So I asked him:
***"Nakakatulong ba ang yosi para maisip mo yung kulang na syntax sa code mo?"***
He then answered:
Which is somehow true and I have proven it myself. Whenever I felt stressed and exhausted with my code, I also came to a habit of taking a break from time to time but of course, I do not smoke (I am not a smoker at all).
I just do some strolling around Venice Piazza in Mckinley Hill (Grand Canal is still under construction that time) whenever I get exhausted or stressed with my code. Venice is just few steps away from our office way back when I was working in Accenture.
How about You?
Do you think being lazy is also beneficial?
Aside from those that I mentioned above, what do you think are other benefits or advantages of laziness? Come and share it with us :).

Highest Top?
I graduated High School as Valedictorian. I am able to maintain the first honor spot since Second Year High School till 4th Year High-School.
Lowest Top?
Top 7. First year high school ako nun - first grading. First honor ako sa section namin nung first grading.
Never ever!. 70% academic and then 30% extra curricular ang grading system nung time ko.
Never ever din.
Never ever ulit!.
More of stock knowledge lang po.

Work From Home Struggles
This article is my entry to@JonicaBradley Writing Prompt #17: Distraction.
When I first read of this writing prompt, I immediately had a thought of joining cause this "distraction" is literally part of my daily struggle to be a Work From Home Mom.
Let me site some of the factors that affects my productivity in my daily working experience at home.
**Household Chores**
While work from home is a big advantage to some because they can multitask and can do their household chores during their work hours, to me, being a working from home mom with three kids can be chaos at all times.
We just had our stay-out helper 2 months ago. Before that, when the pandemic has started March last year till June 2021, I work from home and take care of my three kids at the same time.
My shift starts at 4:00 AM Monday, and then 6:00AM from Tuesday to Friday. Since I am working from home, I usually set my alarm 30 minutes before my work's start time.
In the morning, as soon as I have completed my Start of Day Checks in my work, I will grab a quick break and will go to the kitchen to prepare for our breakfast before the kids woke-up.
I usually cook a lot in the morning so that I don't need to cook again for our lunch.
After breakfast, I'll have to clean the dishes first and then ask my two bigger kids to take a bath, then go back to my work afterwards.
If everything in my work is quiet and smooth, I will take another 15 to 20 minutes break to fix our bedrooms.
After my 2 kids took a bath, it's my toddler's turn. So I will take another 15 to 20 minutes break again to give my youngest son a bath.
I will take lunch break at 12:00 noon. This time, my husband do the dishes after our lunch, so I have nothing to worry about and can go back to my work right after lunch. My husband will leave right after he washed our dishes and go back to our store. Sometimes, he will take a nap first specially when he has "MARKET" schedule. He goes to the market around 3:00AM in the morning to buy veggies, meats, and fruits which he sells in our store.
My shift ends at 01:00 PM during Monday while 3:00 PM during Tuesday to Friday, so I usually do the cleaning and laundry (twice a week) after shift.
Household members
I have three kids, 11, 7 and 3-year-old child. They are my company the entire day. It is very undeniably that if you have kids at home, it's not impossible for them to impose a fight. You'll just suddenly hear them arguing, crying and screaming.
Furthermore, sometimes at the middle of your meeting, you'll just suddenly hear them laughing out loud, talking at a very loud noise, or throwing their toys and food everywhere (too stressful isn't it?).
How about when your husband told you great news about your neighborhood that tested positive in COVID-19? This can trigger a long conversation that you'll not even notice the time that passes by and your shift is about to end already, yet you still have work that needs to accomplish for that day.
Also, there are times that my toddler will approach me and ask a non-ending questions. After you answered his first question, there will be follow-up question and another follow-up question until you don't even know how to answer his future questions.
Those distractions are actually impacting my productivity at work. I loose my focus to whatever I am doing, I lose my focus to the topic, I lose my focus and sometimes having hard time to grasps with the topic whenever I am having an ongoing call or ongoing conversation with my colleagues or Boss.
Noisy Environment
Aside from the noise of my kids, I also have to deal with the outside noises during my working hours.
This happens often. Our neighbor has 3 dogs and whenever there are people at their front yard, the dogs (all of them) will bark simultaneously until that person leaves. I am so annoyed by this to be honest. Those are big distractions for me because you cannot even hear your own mind because of those loud barks.
Another example based on my experience is the rooster's crowing sound. It happened during my meeting (a 4:00 AM meeting) and then all of a sudden my husband rooster's (three of them) crows loudly.
I don't know what to do that time, I felt so embarrassed cause one of the person in the meeting asked me right away **"Are you in the farm?"**. Of course, I have to explain that those are my husband's rooster and jokingly said, **"they are our alarm clocks"**. They laughed after I said that.
Mobile Phones
It's already been the habit of most of us (including I myself) to constantly check my mobile phone for any text messages or chats. But there are times that we used to hook on using our mobile phones during our working hours till we didn't even notice how long we've been scrolling on our phones already.
This significantly reduce our productivity. While it is important that we should keep our phones close to us specially in case of emergency, it's very tempting to keep on browsing it.
*If you're going to ask me how did I survive my more one year work from home without a helper? I don't know as well.*
*I cannot give you some tips on how to survive on that set-up because I barely survived as well. Likewise, I am so stressed during that time.*
*Don't get me wrong, I am happy to be with my kids at all times. So if I will have to choose between working in the office or working from home? I will choose for sure the latter.*

Monday Morning Sickness
Did you ever experience the Monday Morning Sickness yet? That feeling that you wanted the Sunday back. The feeling that you don't want to end the weekend yet.
This is not the morning sickness commonly experienced by a pregnant woman.
Monday morning sickness is the Monday morning blues where an employee don't feel of getting ready for work yet after the weekend off. It is more of your mind is wanting for more day-off.
I thought of writing about this cause I have observed lately that our stay-out helper is always absent every Monday - take note: Every Monday.
Since she started working with us, about 2 months ago already, she always has absences. And most of them happens every Monday.
That's why earlier when my husband told me that our stay-out helper texted him that she can't go today, I told him *"expected ko na yan, kaya nga ako naglinis ng maaga"* or in english *" I am already expecting that one. That's why I cleaned the house early"*.
I know this Monday morning sickness syndrome already cause way back before the pandemic where we are required to go to the office, I myself often experience this. I don't really know why but every Monday, it's too difficult for me to wake-up early or on time to get ready for work. It seems like my body is not ready yet for 3 long hours commute (one-way only) again. It's like my mind and body are having hang-over of the weekend rest and wanted to have a little more.
This sometimes resulting into a Monday late or Monday Sick Leave the worst. This happens not only to me but to my colleagues as well. It's very noticeable to the management already that every Monday, there are employees for sure that will be late or will be on Sick Leave.
How to Deal with Monday Morning Sickness?
Spend your Sunday to the Fullest!
I am not saying to overload your Sunday with a bunch of works, and make yourself exhausted. It is actually the opposite.
Plan your Sunday accordingly. As much as possible, do not overload your Sunday with a lot of stressful stuffs.
Allot more time to relax rather than pressuring yourself to do the general cleaning of the house, etc.
Do something that will make you more relax like biking, strolling, reading novels, watching movies and some more.
Spend your Sunday to the fullest.
During the pandemic, what my husband and I did every Sunday is to spend quality time with the kids. We always make sure that we do this in every weekends.
We go out, eat our favorite foodies (usually Pizza, fried chicken, fries and burger) and then go home afterwards. That give us all time to unwind, relax, and a quick escape from our messy house (that's painful to my eyes).
Go to Bed Early
Make it a habit to go to bed early on a Sunday. This is for you to avoid sleeping late which is one of the main factor for Monday Morning Sickness. Plan your bedtime. Allot 30 minutes before your bedtime and take away from Television or your cell phones. Put them away so you won't get tempted to watch KDrama series, movies, or any "mukbang" videos that will result in sleeping so late. Just relax your mind and try to think of the positive things that happened throughout the week while waiting for yourself to fall asleep.
Though to me, this is not applicable because I have a toddler that's more active at night, what I do is take a nap whenever I get a chance on a Sunday afternoon. This gives me enough charge for my Sunday night "puyat".
Do not Snooze your alarm
Most of us might have a habit of snoozing our alarm for 5 minutes, and then another 5 minutes, and another more 5 minutes until we realized that we only have 5 minutes to prepare for work. I know it and I've been doing it (before the pandemic).
But during pandemic where I am not required to report to the office anymore, as part of giving back the favor to my Boss, I make it a habit to login at least 1 hour before my shift. He is too considerate not to require us to report at work hence as a way to compensate that kindness, I always make sure not to be late.
Dress well
Start your week with a good-looking you. It helps brighten up your mood and boost your energy to work.
I always do this prior the pandemic, and we're required to report to the office.
I used to plan my whole week outfit Sunday night. Furthermore, I iron them accordingly. It helps me not to rush the next morning because they are all ready to wear.
To me, personally, dressing up helps brighten up my mood. It brings me back to my first day at work cause I always make sure to dress up during my first day at work because I believe in a saying that "First Impression Last".
Be the Positive Vibes Bearer
Have fun at work! Having fun at work means you have something to look forward to each day and gives you no-reason to be late or to be absent.
If you're looking forward to those fun at work, then it reflects with your morning vibes as well.
Good or positives are contagious. If you start your day with all the positivity in your mind, and your colleagues noticed your enthusiasm, smile, and positive attitude, it helps set their mood as well and have it same as yours.
And this will then result into having fun at work despite the bunch of workloads. If you and all your colleagues are happy, energetic and has positive vibes at work, it makes the work more easy that you won't even notice that your shift schedule is about to end.
*How about you? Are you suffering this Monday Morning Sickness as well?*

Mga Bagay na Hindi Ko Kayang Mawala
I've first seen this topic from @Pachuchay entitled "Things I can't Live Without".
Naka work from home na ang set-up ko mula nang mag pandemic (March last year).

Is it Important to use Punctuation Mark in Text Messages?
I am struggling with what topic shall I write about today. I do not have any plans to publish any articles tonight as I have work-related stuff that needs to be done, actually. However, the work related stuff I am talking about has some dependencies. This means we cannot start with our work yet till we have received the go-signal from our upward dependency to proceed.
Hence, since I am already in front of my computer, I thought of writing an article to make my mind stay awake while waiting for our upstream to give us the go signal to proceed with our tonight's work.
This topic came into my mind cause a while ago, I and my husband went into the grocery to buy school supplies for my kids in preparation for their start of school this upcoming Monday.
While we're queueing at the parking lot, somebody texted my husband, and so he replied supposedly with a question but he did not put a question mark at the end. So I gently told him, it looks like a statement and not a question. He might get confused about that. But he insisted to me that "no!. He will for sure know that it's a question" in Tagalog.
Does Punctuation Mark Matters in Text Messages?
For me? Yes, it matters.
It helps the reader or message receiver to understand the sentence easily. Punctuation marks help the writer/s to express their feeling through words.
Nowadays, one of the main communication means between two or more people that are distant from each other is via Cell Phone. A person can now instantly send his/her message to another person via text message or FB Messenger.
We are talking to someone face to face, it's easier to understand the message that he or she is trying to convey through his or her facial expression and body language. This is the main problem or challenge if we are talking to someone through text message or messenger.
All that we can see from our screen are characters, words, and sentence/s. Punctuation helps us understand or give us a clue on how sad, how happy, or how strong those words that he/she texted you. Punctuation helps us avoid confusion.
Let me site you some of examples:
**Apostrophe (')**. The meaning of a sentence can be easily changed by just missing an apostrophe (').
Examples of these are:
**its** (associated with the mentioned subject)
*versus*
**it's** (shortened "it is")
your (associated with the person that the writer/sender is addressing)
*versus*
**you're** (shortened "you are"
were (past tense of are)
*versus* **we're** (shortened "we are").
**Exclamation point (!)**. The exclamation point can be used to show how excited, surprised, or happy the sender is.
Examples of this are:
Oh My God! I passed the licensure exam!
***versus***
Oh My God I passed the licensure exam
Watch out!
***versus***
Watch out
*Which one expresses more feelings?*
**Question mark (?)**. In English, we can easily know if a statement is a question cause it usually starts in What, Where, When, How. But in Tagalog, some sentences are difficult to distinguish if it's a statement or a question if the sender/writer did not add the question mark at the end.
For example:
K**umain ka na**. In English, this could mean Did you ate already? or this could also mean a "command" to the receiver/reader to eat.
**Sa akin ito**. In English, this could mean "Is this mine"? or this could also mean "This is mine".
*If you're the reader or the receiver of the aforementioned message that has no punctuation mark, how are you gonna comprehend?*
*Kung ako siguro yan, magpapause muna ako for a while, mag iisip saglit at magbabackread para maintindihan ko kung anong gusto nyang sabihin.*
**Comma (,)**. A comma is being used to separate multiple items in a group or a list. Comma denotes a short pause for the reader.
For Example:
Can you please buy me an apple 1/2 kilograms of grapes 2 bananas 1 watermelon 5 Sunkist 6 oranges 1 kilogram of eggplant 2 kilograms of rice and 6 pcs eggs
***versus***
Can you please buy me an apple, 1/2 kilograms of grapes, 2 bananas, 1 watermelon, 5 Sunkist, 6 oranges, 1 kilogram of eggplant, 2 kilograms of rice, and 6 pcs eggs?
*Aminin, medyo hiningal ka nung binasa yung unang statement.*
Author's note:
**I am not saying that the use of proper punctuation should be mandatory for text messages but as much as possible, please make it a habit as it can save you and your message receiver from having a misunderstanding.**
**Punctuation marks add more feeling and meaning to a sentence.**
Before I end this article, just wanna take this opportunity to send gratitude to my lovely sponsors. Many thanks for your support.
My Answer to "WHAT-IFs"
I've read several posts already answering random what-if questions from this site. And so I thought of joining the fun of answering as well. https://www.questionsrant.com/what-if-questions/
Every time I heard or read "What if", Aumsum is the first thing I always think of.
If you don't know Aumsum yet, he is the main character from an Indian Educational YouTube Channel "**It's Aumsum time**". You can find some of the video playlists here. I learned about it cause my eldest son loves to stream Aumsum's video via YouTube thru our Television and I've also got interested in the information that it was trying to relay to its viewer regarding a specific "what if" topic. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3Qhl_FNeCtsOC46DVdYDsw
Anyways, let me answer some of the "What If" questions from this site. https://www.questionsrant.com/what-if-questions/
***What if you could change one thing about human anatomy? What would be the most exciting alteration you would make?***
https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/appendicitis/symptoms-causes/syc-20369543
If I will be given a chance to change human anatomy, I would like to remove the **appendix**.
As we all know, this is part of our body that doesn't have a significant function, although Wikipedia says research suggests that the appendix may serve an important purpose - it may serve as a reservoir for beneficial gut bacteria.
However, there were multiple deaths recorded already due to appendicitis (appendix inflammation/infection). Appendicitis causes intense pain in your right abdomen.
A common procedure to treat appendicitis is the removal of the appendix itself.
So why not eliminate it from human anatomy if later on it will just cause problems to your health and can also cause death?
***What if you had a job that pays you half a million dollars a month for sitting in a pitch-black house for 8 hours a day? Would you take it?***
No thanks!. A big NO for me!.
I will never take it. First of all, I am afraid of the dark cause in the dark, you can see a lot of things - a lot of scary things (thru your mind). Being afraid in the dark is one of my weaknesses so I won't take the offer.
***You can either be an astronaut or a professional driver. What if you could be both but only if you agree to switch to the opposite sex?***
Yes, I think I would go with this one. I've been dreaming of watching the earth from outer space. I would like to know how the stars, moon, and sun look like in a bit closer view. I wanna see everything that's outside of earth. I wanna see how volcanoes look like from up there.
For being a professional driver, of course, I need this. I don't know how to drive till this writing. We have a car but since I don't know how to drive, every time I have errands outside, I will have to consider my husband's availability to drive me to wherever my errand is.
For switching to the opposite sex for these to happen? Yeah, I think it's okay. I don't have any issue if I will be a BOY.
***What if money was never an issue in your life? Where would you be at this exact moment?***
If money was never an issue in my life? I will be in my hometown in the province of Oriental Mindoro planting fruit trees, flowers, and vegetables in our backyard.
Since the pandemic, we're not able to visit our province anymore cause we have 3 kids and all are still minors who are not allowed to travel unless we will go there for good. I've been longing to stay long in our province and enjoy the beauty of nature, enjoy the privilege of having a low-cost living. Away from any types of pollution (including noise pollution).
The only problem in our province is, earning money is very difficult. Maybe because our place is far from civilization yet hence you cannot easily find a job that will pay you an ideal salary. That's why I and my husband is dreaming that we spend our retirement in our hometown (in our province). Work hard and save now, relax later - this is mine and my husband's motto now.
***What if you owned a bar? What would it be popular for?***
I do not drink any type of wine or alcohol. But my husband wants to collect different types of alcoholic drinks. So If I will be given an opportunity to own a bar (which I think is also possible due to my husbands' like of alcoholic drink collection), it would be popular for a coconut wine called "**Tuba**". This drink is very common in my hometown as it's very cheap and also, if you have a coconut tree, you can have it free. All you have to do is be patient in fermenting the sap taken from the coconut tree.
I would love to sell Tuba in my own bar to help the locals in my hometown. To help them have another source of funds aside from farming.
***What if you had to give up one thing between watching television or surfing the internet?***
I will give up watching television. Surfing the internet has lots of benefits nowadays. Let me mention some of them.
You can search for some home remedies on some symptoms you, your husband or any from your family member is suffering. That is what I normally do as a mom. I usually check natural home remedies from the internet and try them first.
You can search for answers to your kid's assignment from the internet. Nowadays, we can find a lot of virtual libraries on the internet, and hence internet is very helpful to a lot of students today for their assignments or any other school project and activities.
You can search for different recipes from the internet.
In my line of work in the IT industry, surfing the internet also is one of my resorts in checking specific code syntax.
You can also read the latest news on the internet.
Those are some of the internet usages nowadays so practically speaking, I would choose to give up watching television over surfing the internet.
**What if you could make money grow from trees in your backyard?**
If I could make money grow from trees in our backyard, I will plant as many trees as I can till they occupied all the space in our backyard. More trees = more money.
When I have lots of money already grown from trees in our backyard,
I will resign from my work and will just stay at home to take care of my kids and my husband.
I will complete our house renovation here in Cavite and to our hometown (Oriental Mindoro).
I will build my siblings and my father their dream house in our province and give each of them a business as their source of income.
I will travel to every part of the Philippines. Of course, I would love to explore the beauty of the Philippines first before going to other countries.
***What if you could only listen to one boy band for the rest of your life? Which one would you pick?***
I will pick "PLUS ONE". This is a Christian Boy Band. My favorite amongst their song list is "**The last flight out**" and "**Here in My Heart**". Their band was formed last 1999 but has been disbanded too soon (2004).
Here is one of their album released last 2000.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LptgujDm6ME
I also love their version of "**Here I am to Worship**" from the Exodus album that they have released last 2003.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqFvwAY2O0g&list=PLDr2D0Ni1tkituWT9VOkz2PQcUoeZ7_xO&index=9
This would be all of my answers to some of the What Ifs that can be found here. https://www.questionsrant.com/what-if-questions/
Many thanks again for dropping by and patiently reading my articles. Feel free to leave a comment!.
To my lovely sponsors, I thank you as always for your trust and support.
There's Beauty in Every Failure
Fear of Failure
Do you still remember how nervous you are before your examination especially if the subject is the one that you're not that good at?
Can you still recall how fast your heart beats as your teacher announces your scores?
Can you still recall how nervous are you while you're on your way to your job interview?
Those feelings are due to one single reason.
*You're afraid to fail.*
*You're afraid that you're not going to make it!.*
*You're afraid to accept the consequences of being a failure.*
Admit it or not, nobody ever wanted to fail. Of course, all of us wanted to taste the sweetness of SUCCESS in our every goal.
Failure is part of being a Human
We cannot ever deny that failure is part of being a human.
Hence, we have to accept the fact that it is normal, cause we're just human in the first place.
And as for the saying "nobody is perfect" - this simply means that everybody is bound to make mistakes and will experience how to be a failure.
Failure helps us learn the most valuable lessons in our life.
Failure helps us see our mistakes, our imperfections and helps us find ways to avoid the same mistake in the future.
In other words, failure helps us to improve and make a better version of ourselves.
It helps us discover how far we can go that in the end, we will be able to tell ourselves *"gosh!. I never knew that I can also do it!. And I just did it!"*
Always "Fail Forward" - Never "Rollback"
In my line of work, we have terminologies whenever we are executing changes in the production environment. We have what we're so-called the "rollback" procedure. This is the step that we need to perform if in any case our implementation didn't work or introduced an issue.
We have two possible actions: "rollback" or "fail forward".
**Rollback** means, to revert the changes we did and go back to the latest working version of the code. Whereas **fail forward** means, to find resolution on the issue introduced by the change without going back to the old version.
If we're going to apply these procedures in our life, I always believe that we should always fail forward. Accept our failure, try to fix it, and move forward with it.
Cause if you keep on rolling back, you might be left behind. In other words, you will be stuck to wherever you are if you keep on coming back to the old version of "you".
What to do when failed
There are things you can do whenever you failed.
**Accept the fact that you failed.** This is the very first thing that you need to do. Cause if you will keep on denying that you didn't fail, then you will never learn how to overcome that failure cause you do not look at it as a failure. Remember that each failure teaches on how to improve ourselves further, to learn and discover new strategies to succeed.
**Seek advice.** Gathering several opinions or ideas can help reinvent your ideas into something new. Do not isolate yourself from others when you fail.
Open your mind, and your ears to other's suggestions as those ideas can help us get up from a fall.
**Change Direction if necessary**. In your next attempt at achieving your goal/s, when you see that failure is coming your way again, stop for a while, and think. Change your strategy and consider changing your route as well. Try to step out of the box for you to see a clear picture of what's inside.
The ability to sense failure is also a skill that you need to develop along the way. It will help you change your game plan which saves you from falling.
**Do not give up**. This is one of the main keys to success. You should develop a strong fighting spirit. As we commonly said, "practice makes perfect".
Try and try and do not give up. Failures are those who stop whenever they sense that they are approaching failure and that their work plan might not work already.
It's okay to stop for a while but do not end the story of your failure right away. Cause doing that is like you're claiming that you're a failure already without even trying to complete the race.
Closing Remarks
The beauty of failure is that it helps you to become a better person. It helps us create an upgraded version of ourselves. . Be open to suggestions always. Always fail forward - do not roll back, keep on moving forward, and do not go back. It's okay to stop for a while but never give up. Just do not quit cause quitters never win :).

My Least Productive Work from Home
Today, September 8, 2021 is considered to be my least productive day at work
I'm almost 2 hours late at work
First epic that happened today is, I failed to wake up before 06:00 AM in the morning. I woke up at exactly 7:39 AM already (based on my phone's clock) earlier which means I am nearly 2 hours late in my shift cause it supposedly start at 06:00 AM. Luckily, there were no issues that arise during my offline hours.
I am alone in my shift in APAC hours by the way cause the rest of my colleagues are in EMEA shift since most of our applications and users are based in UK. And since I am alone in my shift, no one will know how late I am today unlessni'll tell them. But please do not judge me. Don't think that I am taking advantage of my shift cause honestly, this is the first time it happened. I normally wake up before 6:00AM and log-in right away.
Upon logging in, I immediately started with my start of day check. It is to make sure that our applications are "Ready for Business" before the APAC users came in. They normally comes in at 09:00 AM Singapore time.
Boiled Banana (saba) for Breakfast
After ensuring that all our applications are running as expected, I went down to prepare our breakfast. I'm glad when I saw the ripe banana on the table cause last night before we sleep, I asked my husband to buy ripe SABA when he goes into the market. He usually leave at 3:00AM in the morning. It needs to be that early cause what he buy in the market will be sold in our little store. Usually he buys pork, chicken, fish, veggies and some fruits. I'm glad that he did not forgotten my Banana. I boiled 10 pcs of banana which will serve as our breakfast. I left about 8 pcs raw of it for our afternoon snacks.
While waiting the boiled banana to be evenly cooked, I went back to my desk and do some of the stuffs related to my current project (at work). I just occasionally check my banana and as soon as it was cooked, I ate 2 pcs right away cause it's already 9:00AM by that time and I can feel my rumbling stomach already due to hunger. I partnered it with a hot coffee as well.
The repeated reboot
I went back to my desk right after my breakfast but then after an hour, a power interruption happened. But after about 3 seconds, power came back immediately.
I've got disconnected from my remote desktop connection and our router has rebooted as well. But it's been 15 minutes already after the router reboot, it's still not able to establish internet connection. So I rebooted it again - manually. I waited for another 5 minutes but still no internet connection, so I did another reboot. This time, I did it remotely thru the web. I just logged in as admin. I waited another 5 minutes again but nothing happens. Still no internet connection. I went down the stairs and turned off the router and unplugged it as well. I waited for about 30 seconds before I turn it on. I waited a bit to make sure it will turn on successfully and checked if the Wifi and LAN led lights are both on before going back to my desk. Luckily, this time it works.
I managed to log-in back but power gone again few minutes after I logging in back. And same with the first instance, power restored after 2 to 3 seconds. It's just like a blink and a finger snap interval. I asked my husband to unplug our refrigerator cause it might get damaged by the current surge.
Same thing happened with our router. It was having a hard time to establish internet connection. This time, I've sent notification to my colleagues and my Boss via whatsapp while doing a repeated reboot of our router till it successfully established internet connection. I've informed them again as soon as I have managed to login back.
But then after few minutes, another power interruption occurred. Power immediately restored after few seconds again. That's almost 12 noon already. So I decided to grab lunch first while waiting for our router to work by itself. Right after my lunch, I tried the repeated reboot once again till it works.
However, in just less than 10 minutes after our router was fixed, another power interruption happened. This time, the interval before the power restoration is longer, it took about 10 minutes. So while waiting for the power to come back, I sent message again to my colleagues and my Boss informing them of the power interruptions I am experiencing at that moment. My Boss replied which serves as his acknowledgement of my situation. I have a very considerate Boss and he's one of the reason why I see my current job as my "for good job".
As soon as the power has been restored, I manually unplugged the router and waited for about a minute before plugging it back. This time, the unplug trick dis not worked. So I tried the repeated reboot until the router was able to establish internet connection.
However, while I am in the process or rebooting our router, another power interruption happened. That was around 01:20'ish PM already (7th power blink as per my counting) and my shift is till 3:00PM only. But this time, it was not restored back immediately unlike the previous instances. So I am not able to login back for work.
In summary, the only work related thing that I am able to accomplish is the Ready for Business checks which normally take 10 to 15 minutes to complete. That means my productivity today is just 15 minutes of my supposedly 8 hours on shift.
Finally, power is back at around 8:40 PM earlier. Just in time cause I am almost done and about to publish this one but my mobile data is so unstable that I cannot upload a photo even in noise.cash.
That concludes my article for today.
Many thanks guys for patiently reading my today's struggles. I wanted to take this opportunity to send gratitude to my sponsors. Thank you for trusting me.

Random Ice Breaker Questions
ICE Breaker
First time I heard of this term was during our team building (that was like over than 10 years ago already). My colleague brought a card with random questions in it. We are asked to choose one and were urged to read a loud the question in our card and answer it with honesty.
Ice Breaker is a good way to start a conversation amongst a group of people. This gives each one in the group a specific topic to talk about since the questions are very general. It's all about having fun while getting to know each other and from the word it self "breaker", it breaks awkwardness and help make everyone in the group comfortable to each other.
ICE Breaker Question Generator
When I tried to search for an ice breaker random question generator, this one caught my attention cause of it's uniqueness. https://wordwall.net/resource/295445/ice-breaker
There's a wheel with random questions that you need to spin. You need to answer the question into which the arrow has pointed when the spinning stops.
There are two ways to spin the wheel. One, by dragging the wheel itself and second, by clicking the "Spin It" button.
My Random ICE Breaker Questions
Since I like number 7 today, I will pick seven questions and answer them one by one.
1. What is your name?
Well, my real name is Nielmalyn Del Mundo with the nickname of Khing. The midwife that helped my mother deliver me into this world gave that name. Basically, it's the combination of my Father (Natha**niel**) and my Mother's name (Wil**ma**) and then just appended it with **lyn**.
Whereas my nickname **Khing** was given by my grandmother. My mother said that my grandmother gave me that nickname cause when I am still a baby, I used to cry a lot and hence my mother would have to dance while singing a lullaby to me. And my grandmother translated that dance with exaggeration to "King King" a native word in our language that means hopping with one leg raised.
2. What do you do in your free time?
Before I discovered noise.cash and read.cash, during my free time at work, I make some documentations which will help me easily understand our system. I usually do connection diagrams, knowledge articles, and a lot more. Sometimes, when I am not in the mood to do work related stuffs, I used to play Mobile Legends. My colleagues introduced this online game to me and I got hooked into it before. But now, after I learned about this platform, during my free time, I used to visit the sites and read some posts in there. https://noise.cash/u/Khing https://read.cash/r/Khing14
After work, and I am free, aside from engaging myself in noise.cash and read.cash, I also love to visit my little garden to check if my plants are doing okay. In the afternoon, I water them specially during hot weather. I love to plant veggies that's easy to take care of like eggplants, tomatoes, okra, sitaw, I also have lemongrass and chili of course. https://noise.cash/u/Khing https://read.cash/r/Khing14
3. What are your favorite food
Let me enumerate them:
Thin Crust **Pizza**
Pork Sinigang with Gabi
Lumpiang Shanhai
Siomai
Any steamed vegetables like okra, eggplant, pechay leaves, kamote leaves, and some more.
Garlic Buttered Shrimp
4. What's your job?
I work as an I.T. Analyst. I've been in this I.T. world for more than 13 years already. I actually gave a glance on how I became an I.T. in one of my published article "Paano ako nakapasok sa IT world". You can google translate it cause it's written in our language (Filipino). https://read.cash/@Khing14/paano-ako-nakapasok-sa-it-world-c0a5e781
I am currently working as an Application Support in a Broker Company based in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.. We support applications being used by our brokers in their trading.
5. Are you usually early or late?
I am a late person (more active at night) but I am usually early (on-time) in my shift unless there are any unexpected circumstances along the way to office which is uncontrollable. I usually arrive in the office 30 minutes before my shift.
6. What is your favorite book?
I am not a good reader to be honest so I don't have a favorite book.
Whenever I read a book, or a novel, or a story, I felt sleepy. That's why I do normally do read articles here before I go to bed as part of my bedtime routine.
But if I'll be asked, what book caught your interest/attention most? My answer would be in the bible - The Book of Revelations. I just find every chapter in this book very interesting as it shows how the second coming of Jesus will happen.
7. If you could any meet historical figure, who would you choose and why?
Jesus Christ - I wanted to see Him face to face. I wanna know if the faces of Him from the movies are close to the original Him.
I saw him in my dreams once (I believe I am 11 to 12 years old by that time). But I never had a clear picture of him when I woke up so I wanna see Him in person.
***That's it for today guys. Hope you enjoyed reading my answer to the aforementioned ice breaker questions.***
Feel free to make your version.

My Postpartum Dream
January 19, 2010 at around 19:14 PM (PH time) when I gave birth to my first born.
Since it was my first, I never expected that the labor pain is the pain that no one would ever wanted. It feels like my bones are all breaking at the same time. It is the worst pain I have ever experienced - since birth.
I am actually more than a week overdue the time I felt the contractions. If I may recall it correctly, I am 10 days overdue by that day already. My OB Gynecologist prescribed me "Buscopan". As per my memory, she said buscopan will help soften my cervix and prepare it for the delivery.
It was around 02:00 AM in the morning when I started to feel the excruciating pain I never felt in my entire life. I told my husband that I might give birth already. We rushed immediately to the nearby hospital. Luckily, the hospital is only walking distance from our house. I asked my husband to bring me to the hospital when the contraction frequency or rate becomes one in every 5 minutes already.
While in the Emergency Room
As soon as we arrived at the Emergency, one of the nurses approached and assisted us to one of the hospital bed. He asked me if I do have a record at the hospital and who is my OB Gynecologist. They immediately contacted my OB Gynecologist for confirmation of my record and for further instruction.
The nurse continued quizzing me and asked me few more questions about sickness history while I am at the emergency room. Whenever he noticed that there's contraction, he told me
*"okay Mam, answer that later after the contraction"* .
After few minutes, the resident doctor came by. She wore gloves and immediately checked my cervix opening and told me that it's just 1 cm. She said, we have to wait till it reaches 10cm. I asked them if I can go home and just come back when I think it's about time to give birth but they didn't allowed me to.
I was then admitted to the labor room and there, I am the only patient. I have a resident doctor sitting beside me, monitoring my baby's heartbeat and my vital signs from time to time.
While in the Labor Room
I could barely cope with the pain I felt while I am in the labor room. I cry out loud whenever I felt the cramps. I know that they are annoyed by my loud agonizing but I don't care. I don't know what to do every time there is contractions. I cannot move cause if I did, the monitoring equipment attached to my tummy (to monitor my baby's heart beat) might displace.
I can still clearly recall one of the resident doctor asked me
*"was your pain tolerance too low?"*
I didn't answered that question but back in my mind, I am talking to myself like
"*can't you see how much I am in pain right now?*
*"can't you see how much I agonized due to the pain?"*
I am not allowed to eat or drink anything while I am in the labor room . I believe it is due to the risk of aspiration which happens when food or any liquid inhaled thru lungs.
More than 10 hours has passed already but my cervix opening was still stuck at 1 cm.
It's already 3:00 PM when my OB Gynecologist came. She checked right away the heart beat pattern of my baby.
I think she saw how tired and exhausted I am hence she asked me if I wanted to have a painless labor.
Of course at that moment, that's the most beautiful word I heard. I noded immediately.
She then instructed the assistant doctor to call for anesthesiologist. After few minutes, the anesthesiologist came. He asked me to sit still and arched my back while he is administering the anesthesia. Few minutes after that procedure, I can still feel the contractions but it is not that painful as before. It's more manageable this time.
While monitoring my baby's vital signs, she noticed that my baby's heartbeat is getting weaker and weaker. That was around 18:00 in the evening already. She then stood up, walk through the door and approached my husband who is patiently waiting outside of the labor room. She asked my husband to sign a waiver to conduct a CS section to me. To cut the story short, my husband signed the waiver.
But when they are about to bring me to the operating room, my water bag suddenly broke. That was nearly 19:00 in the evening already. The plan has immediately changed cause when the doctor measured my cervix opening, it's at 6cm already and minute by minute it's going wide till it reaches 10cm. Instead of bringing me to the operating room, I was brought to the delivery room instead.
Delivery time!.
I was so exhausted and tired during the time of delivery. I really feel so weak and so cold at the same time. I can barely push in each contractions hence the other doctor already helped me by adding some pressure on my tummy with her arm. By God's grace, I am able to deliver my son successfully thru vaginal birth at exactly **19:14 on January 19. 2010.**
I felt relieved when I heard him cry. After few minutes, one of the doctors told me
*"papatulugin na muna kita ha" ("I will put you to sleep temporarily")*
And just after few seconds, I fell asleep.
In the Recovery Room : The Unforgettable Dream
After few hours, I woke up at the recovery room from a weird dream.
I have dreamt about my Grandmother and Grandfather who are both dead already by that time.
I was in their house, wearing school uniform having conversation with both of them. Though I cannot recall already what's our conversation by that time but I look so happy while talking to both of them.
And then all of the sudden my grandmother told me:
***"Uwi kana Khing, baka hinahanap kana ng nanay mo (go home now Khing as your mother might already looking for you)****.*
I woke up right after I said the word (in my dream) ***"sige po la, lo uwi na po ako (grandma, grandpa,I'll go home now)".***
I told my husband and my mother about that weird dream as soon as I was discharged from the hospital. But they just looked at me, **both speechless**.
Until now, I don't know what that dream means but I think they just wanted me to know that they are always there, watching me and my family.
This is my entry to @JonicaBradley this week's writing prompt #16: Dreams.

Many thanks for your time!.
My "Y"
Why do you need to discover your Y?
Finding your WHY means:
Knowing and understanding the reason you do the things you do.
Knowing and understanding the reason why you must do it.
***Knowing and understanding your MISSION in life****.*
Why did I highlighted the last one? Cause it is the main reason why do you need to know your WHY. To know your real mission in life.
We cannot just simply copy other's why in life.
Your WHY once discovered is the one that will guide you towards the fulfillment of your WHY itself.
For many, their "whys" tend to be not due to their own choice. It's not necessarily what their want, it's not necessarily what their passion is, it is not what they have dreamt of, but they needed to do it due to their sense of responsibility, . They think that they have to do it because their family depends on them.
It doesn't mean that you're doing good with your job right now because you love it. I believe it is more reasonable to think that you're working so hard with your current job for your real WHY.
***For some OFWs maybe one of their Ys are:***
**- Why do I have to work abroad?**
Because it is difficult to find job here in the Philippines that gives satisfying salary.
Because it is their obligation as the eldest daughter/son.
To help their family / to make a living for their family.
*For moms like me, one of their Ys is:*
Why do I have to wake up early in the morning and stay up late at night?
Cause it is part of their responsibility. They wake up early in the morning to prepare for breakfast of the whole family and stay up late in the evening cause they are urged to finish all the house chores before going to bed, or for those who have babies or toddlers, they have to stay up late in the evening cause they need to wait for their babies or toddlers to sleep first before they can finally sleep.
*For students:*
**Why do I have to submit projects and assignments?**
To comply with their teacher's requirements and so that they won't fail on their subjects.
**Why do I have to maintain a passing grade?**
To make my parents proud.
To maintain my scholarship.
There are a lot of why's we can actually think of.
But, do you already know what amongst these WHYS could help you identify your mission in life?
How will you identify what your real WHY is?
Simple! By asking yourself as many questions as possible.
Why do I do this?
Who is this all about?
Why did I choose this over that?
Why I am working so hard for this?
Why I am not happy now?
Why I am here?
My "Y"
Why do I have to work more 9 hours or more a day?
Why do I need to be good in my job?
Why do I have to bear the 3 hours one-way commute to and from work?
Why do I have to wake-up so early in the morning?
Why do I have to work on my birthdays?
Why do I have to work on holidays?
*I work hard because I wanted to earn MONEY for my Family.*
Why to I need to earn money?
To think of, I can actually resign at work and let my husband find money for our daily needs.
But why do I still need to continue my work?
Why did I chose to be away from my children for more about 15 hours/day (before WFH set-up)?
Me and my husband both know that he cannot find a job that will pay the same as my basic salary at the moment as an IT Analyst given his educational background as Criminology graduate. He is not able to take licensure exam cause he needed to find a job right after he graduated to help his younger sister in her school expenses.
My husband's business income is not enough to pay all our monthly bills
i.e electric bill, water bill, internet, house, car, and my children's tuition fee.
Cause I don't want my children to experience the hardships in life that I have experienced during my childhood. I wanted them to live comfortably with easy access on all their needs (clothing, food, education, etc).
I am the breadwinner in our family. My father, and my three siblings are still dependent on me on some occasions.
I want to give my father a comfortable life.
*I believe my "WHY" is to make my family's life better that what I've experienced.*
***How about you? What is your WHY?***
*Is your why to share humor with others? Always make them laugh?*
*Is your why to give comfort to others when they are down?*
*Is your why to give a positive impact to other's life?*
***Do you think you've discovered your WHY yet?***
***I challenge you to discover your WHY as well and share it with us in your next article.***
Tardiness
Filipino Time
If you're a Filipino, you must already heard the word "Filipino time". This is described as the habit of arriving late regardless of how planned and organized the schedule is.
For some of the Filipinos, this habit is already associated to our culture. And to some who make it a habit already, they tend to forget how their productivity is being impacted by this and hence they do not make extra effort to avoid or prevent the tardiness. They don't care of what others will feel but actually, repeated tardiness shows a lack of respect with other people.
Let me site an example.
In my work as an Application Support, we might have to deal with a shifting schedule, depending on the business requirements. In my previous work, we have to rotate into 3 shifts (APAC, EMEA , and AMER (a.k.a. the graveyard shift). Each shift has at least 1 hour overlap allotted for shift endorsement/handover.
Just imagine if you're the outgoing shift (and you're on a graveyard shift), at 7:00AM in the morning, you can already feel the sleepiness and tiredness. But then your colleague who supposedly accept your handover is 1 hour late, this means that you'll have to extend your shift 1 hour more. If this is being done say once or twice a week, it's fine and somehow acceptable. But if this happens daily for the whole week, this is already shows lack of respect and consideration to your case and is very unacceptable.
Possible Reasons for Being Tardy
Unpredictable Traffic
For those who are working in Metro Manila can relate into this. Traffic in Metro Manila is very unpredictable. If today, you spent only 1 hr travelling to your or office, or to you meeting destination, tomorrow, it can be doubled or might be tripled as well. So the tendency is, arriving very late or arriving very early depending on the traffic situation.
Due to this unpredictable traffic, commute time of every commuters are also impacted. Filipinos already used to long queue in MRT or LRT in Metro Manila.
The main problem here is, there is no specific time set for the arrival and departure of each train from one station to another unlike in the other countries where they are very strict with train schedule. This also applies to our buses. Hence Filipino commuters struggle to manage their commute time as well.
Public Transportation Availability
While for some places, public transportation is not an issue, there are some places where access to the same is not easy.
There are areas where the public transportation versus the commuter's ratio is very unbalanced already even prior the pandemic. It affects the commuter's waiting time.
This problem has worsen during the pandemic. When lockdown was initially issued in some of the places here in the Philippines, public transportations are the ones that are majorly impacted and hence the effect is reflecting back to the commuters.
Why? From the normal capacity of each transportation unit, they have to reduce it to implement the social distancing rule to prevent the spread of Covid-19 virus. This means, commuter's waiting time have been doubled as well or might as well worst that doubled.
Lack of Time Management
This can be associated as to having a lack of self discipline. Some already know their schedules ahead of time but do not make an extra effort on how to manage their time accordingly. They already know that they have to wake up early the next day for their commitments/appointment but they will still sleep too late. Hence resulting in difficulty to wake up the next day. Even though an alarm was set accordingly, they will just snooze it until only few hours are left for their preparation and travel.
How to Prevent Tardiness?
**Sleep Early.** Make it a habit to sleep early cause sleeping late is one of the major root cause why some has difficulty waking up early in the morning.
**Do not snooze your alarm.** When the alarm rings, don't make it a habit to extend 5 more minutes until the 5 minutes became 30 minutes or even longer.
**Allot enough time for preparation/ getting ready**. Getting ready for work, or school sometimes takes time. Allot atleast 1 hour for this.
**Give time allowance for travel**. Give atleast extra 30 minutes allowance for tpur travel. This is as contingency in case an unpredictable traffic occurs.
**Set a goal** . Why don't you challenge yourself to set a record of having no lates for a week, and then once your initial goal has been achieved, try to increment it to 2 weeks and so on.
**Change your mindset**. Erase your perception that being late is okay cause it's part of our culture. Change your mindset. Give respect and have considerations to your colleagues or boss (if you're an employee) or to your teachers (if you're a student) waiting for you as your motivation to getting early/ on-time at work.
Sis @GarrethGrey07, thank you so much for the sponsorship. Many thanks for the trust :).. more BCH to come :)
I am "Promdi" and I'm Proud of it!
"Promdi" is a tagalog word that means "person from the province".
Nowadays, so many people are living in the city of Manila from their respective provinces to seek or find their luck. It is undeniable that it is much harder to earn money in the provinces compared to cities like Manila. Therefore, many are obsessed with going out to take risks and find their destiny in Manila or neighboring cities.
I grew up in the province of Oriental Mindoro but when I started College, we have to move here in Cavite as my parents needed to work both to supply our daily needs and me and my sibling's studies.
My Struggles and Challenges
**As a Commuter**
I am not used to travelling via vehicle cause way back in our province, I barely ride a vehicle and when I say vehicle, it means tricycle. Jeepneys are very rare in our province.
My first few months of commute to and from the school are always a struggle for me. I felt dizzy and always wanted to vomit while I'm inside the jeepney.
I don't know how to use pedestrian lane.
I am not familiar with the traffic lights and how to use it, cause I do not see any of it when I was in our province.
I am too shy to ask other passengers to hand my fare to the driver so I always make sure to sit right behind him.
**Language**
There are certain language that I know in our native tagalog but others can't understand it even though to my knowledge, it is also a tagalog word.
For example:
mabanas (also known as maalinsangan)
sintoris (also known as dalandan)
kalamunding (also known as kalamansi )
istep-in (also known as tsinelas)
lukban (also known as suha) , and there's many more.
**Accent**
Since accent in our province is far way more different that the accent here in the city, I keep on trying to get used to accents here. But sometimes, I still pronounce it with "Bisaya" accent accidentally.
Here some of the example:
letter "F" that becomes letter "P" when pronounced and vice versa - "plawer" instead of "flower".
letter "V" that becomes letter "B" when pronounced and vice versa - "seben" instead of "seven"
letter "e" that becomes "i" when pronounced and vice versa - "sex" instead of "six".
letter o that becomes u when pronounced and vice versa - "omowi" instead of "umuwi"
**Ordering food in the resto**
In my first few months here in the city, I honestly don't know how to order food in a restaurants, or in any fast foods. So, I always have to copy my friend's order cause I am not familiar at all on the food that's listed in the menu.
**Riding in an elevator or in an escalator**
I struggled to ride an escalator and even more the elevator during my first few months of staying here in the city. I would rather look for stairs rather than taking the escalator or elevator ride.
**Branded Products**
I don't have any idea before on the brand of any products. Like for example, in pants, or any clothes. There is one brand I ever know before - the ballpen brand (Panda and Pilot). Aside from that? I don't care at all :).
**Don't know how to operate computer**
During my early year in my college, I still can recall clearly. During our computer subject, when our teacher asked us to turn on the PC, I have to ask my seatmate's assistance as I don't have any idea what to press.
When I type letters, I only use two fingers (one at a time). An index finger from my left hand and index finger from my right hand. So just imagine how long I am able to complete a word.
**Why I am not ashamed to be a Promdi?**
I ought to say that despite of many challenges and struggles for being a Promdi, I still managed to survive and overcome most of them. And that's one that I'm proud of!.
Aside from that, I am proud and not ashamed that I am a "Promdi" because:
**I am a certified multilingual**
Multilingual means able to speak and understand more than two languages.
Aside from the universal language (English) which I currently use in my writing, I also know how to speak "tagalog Mindoro", "tagalog Manila", and "bisaya Mindoro". I also know how to speak "Romblomanon". It is the native language of Romblon.
Hence, I consider it as an advantage amongst other who only knows how to speak "tagalog" and "english". I can easily mingle with other promdi guys who speaks other languages that I also speak.
**I have a guaranteed province to visit**
I once asked my colleague before *"saan ang probinsya mo?"* and then he responded*"wala eh, tubong Maynila ang mga magulang ko".* I felt a little sad for him. Why? Cause he doesn't have a single province to visit where the lodging is free at all. Having a province or being a promdi makes a guarantee that you have atleast 1 province where your visit is free of charge - no service charge at all (except the fare of course).
**Survival mode**
We can adapt easily to our environment. We're not afraid to sank in the mud or dirt.
In terms of food, person like me who grew up in the province can eat any edible plants available in the surroundings.

Si Pepe at Maria Noon vs. Si Pepe at Maria Ngayon - Part 2
Unang bahagi: Si Pepe at Maria Noon vs. Si Pepe at Maria Ngayon https://read.cash/@Khing14/si-pepe-at-maria-noon-vs-si-pepe-at-maria-ngayon-39929496
Mga Laro ni Pepe at Maria "Noon".
**Habol Habulan**.
***Ikaw? Base sa mga obserbasyon mo? Ano na si Pepe at Maria ngayon? Sila pa din ba sina Pepe at Maria noon?***
First Day of BER month and I've got new sponsor...Thank you so much @Zcharina22 for the sponsorship!.I super duper appreciate it!..
Meron tatlong part itong laro na to.
Meron itong tatlong round.
**Tagu Taguan (Hide and Seek)**.

.......
*Tagu-taguan maliwanag ang bwan.*
*Wala sa likod, wala sa harap.*
*Pagkabilang ko ng sampu nakatago na kayo.*
*Isa, Dalawa, Tatlo, Apat, Lima, Anim, Pito, Walo, Siyam, Sampu.*
*Game?*
My Bi-Monthly Grocery List
As a wife, it is one of our primary responsibility to buy grocery for the entire family's supply. Some do the groceries weekly, some do it monthly, and some do it every other week. In my case, it is the latter. I do grocery twice a month.
Since I've been doing it for sometime multiple times already, I do not make a list anymore before I go to the grocery. I just do a quick inspection of what items have been used up already and what items have some more, and what items don't need a refill yet and that's it.
To make sure I won't forget a single thing, when I do the grocery, I normally group them based on where they are being used. Kitchen, Washroom or Comfort Room, Laundry and Living Room.
Kitchen Area Grocery List.
This is the first in my list cause this is also the one having most in my grocery list.
*Dishwashing Soap, Sponge, and scouring pad.* I usually change Sponge and scouring pad every after two week even though they still looks good cause I believe there are a lot of that our bare eyes germs can't see and I don't wanna spread that germs into the plates, spoon, forks, and other kitchen ware.
*Delata (Canned Food).* I always stock this kind of food cause whenever we're having difficulty deciding what to cook or what to prepare for the kids and , whenever we don't have time to cook due to busy work, this is always our last resort.
There are the ones in my list of canned food:
Mackerel. My husband and I love to sauté this with pechay leaves and sotanghon. The kids also eat this kind of viand.
Sardines. Same with Mackerel, we also cook this one with pechay leaves (malunggay leaves when we don't have available pechay leaves in the refrigerator) and sotanghon (sometimes misua).
Corned Beef. This is actually for Chuchay (our pet dog)..Whenever our viand is something that we know Chuchay won't eat (i.e vegetables), we just open a can of corned beef for her.
Meatloaf. Usually I prepare this for kid's breakfast.
Saba Squid. My husband's favorite *"pulutan".*
Century Tuna. This is one of my kid's favorite canned food.
*Instant Noodles*. When the kid's viand are dry like for example fried chicken, fried meatloaf or fried pork belly, I usually accompany it with Noodles. I just put malunggay leaves on it to make it healthier.
*Pancit Canton.* I cook this sometimes for kids' snacks in the afternoon. Whenever we don't have left-over pandesal.
*Coffee.* Of course, coffee is life to me. It's my energy booster. But don't get me wrong, I limit myself for coffee intake. I just took up to 2 cups a day.
*Powdered Milk.* I am a fan of coffee. But I don't use the usual creamer as my creamer - but powdered milk. And so as my husband. It's more creamier if you use powdered milk as coffee creamer (try it!).
*Milo.* Sometimes, my kids loves to drink Milo specially in the afternoon as part of their afternoon snacks.
*Iced Tea (powdered juice).* My youngest son loves juice (any kind of juice). Whenever he would ask for a juice, I will just shake iced tea in 1 liter of water and add some sliced fresh lemon to it .
*Quaker Oats*. We sometimes do this as instant *"lugaw"* or instant *"champorado". We just add some milk or milo and a little bit of sugar to taste.*
*Hotcake Mix.* This is an instant snacks as well for the kids.
*Biscuits and Snacks.* This is for the kids. I don't normally allow them to go to the store (for safety purposes) to buy biscuits or their favorite snacks so I usually include this in my grocery list instead.
*Dog food (Pedigree).* This is for chuchay (our pet dog). An alternative whenever the left over table food is not something that she will eat.
*Condiments and other mix.* Of course, this is one of the major items in my list.
Soy Sauce.
Vinegar
Catsup
Vetsin . We're not a fan of Magic Sarap or any other similar products.
Pepper. One pack of fined pepper and one pack of cracked pepper.
Sinigang Mix.
Chicken Breading. This is always present cause the kids love fried chicken.
`I do not buy cooking oil in the grocery cause my husband normally buy it from our store (the 1.5 liters of cooking oil).`
`Same with salt and sugar. We just get some from our store for our daily consumption.`
Washroom/Comfort Room Area Grocery List
*Shampoo.* 2 bottles of adult shampoo being shared by the four of us (me, my husband, my eldest son, and my daughter) and 1 bottle of kiddie shampoo for my youngest.
*Conditioner.* I am the lone user of conditioner in our household.
*Bath Soap.* I usually buy 2 pcs. But normally, we're just able to consume 1.
*Beauty Soap.* 1 for me and 1 for my husband. He uses Silka papaya for his face while I am using Silka Avocado oil on mine.
*Toothpaste.* 1 adult toothpaste being shared by me, my husband and my eldest son and 1 kiddie toothpaste being shared by my daughter and my youngest son.
*Toothbrush*. I replace our toothbrush every other two months actually.
*Bleach* *for the toilet.* I am a fan of bleach a.k.a Zonrox in disinfecting our toilet bowls, toilet floor, and lavatory.
*Glass/Tiles Cleaner.*
Living Room Area
Below list are not actually items that's for living area use only but I just tagged them under the living area list just for me to easily remember them when I am at the grocery.
*Air Freshener*. I have this in our bedrooms as well.
*Face Powder, Lotion and Cologne.* These items are placed in the living room for everyone's access but I also have these in our bedroom area.
*Alcohol.* I usually buy 2 500ml of this. 1 to be used to refill my alcohol sprays (1 in the living room, 1 at the car, and 1 in my work desk) and the other 500 bottle as the back-up.
*Cotton buds.* I put this together with face powder, Lotion, and Cologne in our living room.
*Diaper.* We usually put this somewhere in our living room for easy access.
Laundry Area
*Powdered Soap.* I usually buy 12 pcs of Ariel twin pack.
*Fabric Conditioner.*
*Bleach.* This is for white shirts/towels that has stains.
I think that concludes my bi-monthly grocery list :). There were few items that I did not listed.
How about you? How do you normally make your grocery list?
Do you write it in a piece of paper?
Do you also do the groupings?
Thank you for dropping by and spending some time with my article. See you around!

My Throwback Slam Book
`"Personal Property of XXXXXXX... Please handle with care".`

"Silence" Do not always Means "YES"
There is some saying that *"Silence Means Yes"*.
Do you agree on this?
`Me? I don't. I strongly disagree on this. Cause silence means a lot of things. A lot things that you chose not to put into words for some special reason.`
When do silence means yes? And When do silence means no?
Sometimes silence means YES, sometimes it means NO.
When my husband asked my permission if he can go hang out with his friends, sometimes, I just answer it with silence.
And to me, in that case...silence means NO.
I often not say anything if I'm against about a thing. And my husband already used to it already. He knew that it was a NO if I didn't answered cause if it's a YES, I will immediately say "Sure you can go".
Silence will only means NO if someone confirmed that it's a NO and similarly, it will only means YES if someone confirmed that it's a YES. Confirmation in this case would be the body language and of course, the facial expression.
Sometimes what you speak is against with what your body language says.
Sometimes, you say YES but your facial expression means a NO and vice versa.
Sometimes, silence means pain.
Yes, silence is also a way of expressing pain. There are people that when they're broken hearted, they don't wanna speak at all. It's too painful for them to talk about their miserable past. Sometimes, it's too painful for us to tell to the person we love the most but at the same time the person who hurt us most how much anger we have inside but despite that anger, we still don't wanna loose them.
Sometimes, you just choose to be silent so you won't hear words that will just intensify the pain that you're feeling.
That's why there's this commonly used line "*Gusto ko munang mapag-isa*".
Silence also means confusion.
When you're not sure what to say and don't know if it will get things better, or will just worsen the situation/incident you're currently at, you are urged just to keep in silence instead.
This happens to me a lot of times. When I and my husband are on a heated conversation and then he just suddenly said *"Ano? gusto mo maghiwalay na tayo?".* For me to save myself from making decision that will cause my kids to grow up with a broken family, I would rather choose to be silent.
Sometimes, you chose to be silent to let the other party know how much pain they have caused you.
Sometimes silence is a way of saying *"You're not okay"* to the person who doesn't actually care to know if you're okay or not.
Silence could also means love.
This usually happens in a person who accidently fell in love with his/her bestfriend. To keep their friendship lasts, he/she will love that person in silence, will watch him in silence, will take care of him in silence, dream of them in silence, and miss them silently.
Piolo Pascual's character on his movie with Alessandra de Rossi *"My Amanda"* is the perfect example of this (it's available in Netflix in case you're interested).
Silence is a sign of loyalty.
When someone asked questions about the person you care the most and you know that answer to that questions will lead him/her to shame, you would rather choose to be silent than utter any words. And that's loyalty.
You would rather keep yourself silent that betray the person you loved the most.
Sometimes, silence means anger.
When you hate your neighbor cause they keep on making gossips about you, how do you express your anger? Sometimes, by not talking to them right? By pretending that they do not exist, right?
When you hate your partner cause he keep on texting his ex, how will you express your anger? Sometimes, by not answering when they are asking you something, right?
When you hate your sister cause she used your favorite dress to a party, how will you express your anger? Sometimes, by not talking to her right? By pretending that she's not there and nobody's talking at all, right?
That how silence could mean anger.
**How about you? What is the meaning of silence to you? Let it be heard.**
"Chuchay" the Christmas Dog
Hi friends! I'm going feature in this article another special to my heart.. Our chuchay!
`She's about to take a bath in that picture. I have to chain her so that she won't run away. She don't loved to be bathe but she's well behave when we are bathing her.`
She is an aspin. Not imported dog, doesn't have any breed but just a simple ASPIN.
It was Christmas day last year (2020) afternoon when me and the whole fam bam went to Tagaytay for some sight seeing. The plan is just to look for a perfect spot to park beside the road where we can clearly see the Taal Volcano. Kids are not allowed outside hence we cannot go out of the car or go to any park at Tagaytay like Sky Ranch. In short, we just stayed inside of the car while watching Taal Volcano from the distance.
We brought our left over food so that we have something to eat when we"re hungry. In short, it's kind of family picnic along the roadside.
Everyone had fun seeing the Taal Volcano. That's how we spent Christmas day.
While we are on our way home, we saw a man standing beside the road holding two puppies. He is actually on the other side of the road. I immediately saw it and called my husbands attention. So we slowed down a bit. Looks like the man felt our interest with the puppies he's holding.
So he approached us and asked us to buy a puppy. My kids immediately fell in love to the white puppy the man is holding. The man gave it to my kids to try pet it. Unfortunately, the kids don't wanna let go og the puppy anymore.
So I asked the man *"Magkano yan kuya?"*
The man responded: *"1-5 po Mam"* which means 1500 pesos.
My husband then asked the man, why so costly, does she has a breed? The man then answered *"Opo sir. Husky Labrador po".*
We knew that he was lying cause it can be seen clearly from the appearance of the puppy that it's an aspin. But since my kids liked her too much already, I convinced my husband to buy it. My husband tried to huggle for the price until the man agreed for 1,200 PHP.
Before we left, I asked the man again *"Nakain naba ito kuya? "*
He responded *"Opo mam malakas na po yan kumain. Two months na po yan. Saka hindi po mahirap paliguan sanay po yan"* ....and then we left.
The kids are so happy. They've put the puppy on their laps till the puppy fell asleep.
I've created her bed as soon as we arrived home. It was made white of fruit crate and then I just put a rug inside to help her stay warm.
I also gave her some of our left over table food. She ate it all. She'svery good in eating.
Few days passed by, one morning, my husband told me, *"Pinainom ko sya ng gatas"*. So I just responded *"O*k".
But then after a while, the puppy pooped a watery like poop. And she's not that playful anymore.
That's when I realized and told my husband right away *"Hala wala naman tayong gatas, anong gatas ang binigay mo? "*
*"Yung gatas ng mga bata, yung bear brand choco"* he answered.
*"Kaya pala sya nagtae. Bawal ang chocolate sa aso, nakakamatay sa kanila yan"* I said.
`My husband knew that chocolate is not allowed to dogs but he didn't realized that bear brand choco has chocolate in it.`
Then the puppy became weaker as the time goes by. I felt so worried about her. She don't wanna eat. Good thing is, she still drinks water. However, he is still pooping watery like poop.
*She is not the playful puppy anymore. She just like to sleep and sleep all day.*
I forced feed him with sugar. I also asked my husband to buy dextrose powder. I patiently force feed him day and night with dextrose powder solution (dissolved in water) and sugar as well.
And after 3 days, she regained her taste buds. When I offered her table food, she tried to eat it. And it's the start of her recovery. The playful puppy is back!!!
My kids and the pup just play chasing game all day.. Hahaha.. My kids loved the puppy so much. But then we realize that she doesn't have any name yet. So I asked the kids what name do they want. Since they cannot think of any names, I just think of any names that starts with CHU cause the puppy already used to that "chu-chu" as the language of calling her. Then I came up with the name **"ChuChay"** .
Chuchay is actually the stress reliever in the house.
Though sometimes, she's also the source of our stress. She loves to pee in our bed. She likes checking the garbage can in the kitchen and get some tissue (whenever there's any tissue), bring it to our living room and tear them into the smallest pieces she can.
Bu then, Chuchay became one of the best playmate of my kids. They always play chasing game specially my youngest son. Chuchay became his *"gigil"* toy.
We also talk to Chuchay like real a person. In short, we treat him as another part of our family, as the youngest member of the family. All of us became so attached with her.
This is Chuchay now.
She loves to sleep on the sofa.
She became my sleep buddy.
And my youngest son's nap time buddy.
A playmate.
And of course, she's the stray cat's best enemy.
I know that dog's life span is not like us (humans). But we will continue to cherish our moments with her. We will always make her feel that she's always a part of our family. We will always make her feel that she's our bunso. And we will always make her feel that she belongs to our heart :).
*I hope you enjoyed reading my article featuring our one and only CHUCHAY.*
Ang Aking Covid-19 Vaccination Journey : Second Dose
`Date written: August 27, 2021`
August 23, 2021, Lunes nung makatanggap ako ng text reminder from taguig regarding my second dose of Sinovac.
Halos doble sa itinagal nung first dose.
May dalang supot.
My Cutting Classes Stories
Let me ask you these two questions:
Did you **never ever** tried to cutting class during your school days?
Did you **never ever** tried to THINK of not attending your other subjects during your school days?
`Cutting class is a term that means intentionally not attending a class for no valid reason.`
Back to my questions above, I guess I will get a very few **YES** answer.
Cause I know, even you're the most loyal child to to your parents, or even you're the most loyal student to your teacher, and to your school, there will be this single moment that you will feel of not in the right mood to attend a specific subject.
`Before I start with my cutting classes story, let me just site some of the possible reason why do students cut classes.`
They don't like the subject or no interest in the subject at all.
They don't like the teacher. Maybe because the teacher is terror, or the teacher's way of teaching is so boring.
Trying to avoid punishments for not doing the assignments.
Longingness to play computer games. I believe this is one of the reason why computer shops nowadays are not allowed to operate or accept student customers during class hours.
Already late.
By the way, let's go back to my cutting classes story. For my entire school days, I am able to cut class twice only. All happened when I am in my Ementary school days.
My first cutting class experience
Way back when I was a kid, in the province, transportation is very difficult. There are tricycles but few only and seems they are reserved for passengers going to the market only. So most of the people go to their destinations by foot. My school during elementary days is more or less 3 kilometers away from our house. .
`Our morning class is from 7:00 AM till 11:30 AM then our afternoon class starts at 1:00PM till 4:30 PM.`
Like the other kids, I have to walk in the morning going to school then after morning class, I have to go home cause I do not usually have packed lunch like the others. My mother is not the type of mother that will prepare or cook us food in the morning hence we usually go to school with an empty tummy.
After eating lunch, being the eldest, I have to wash the dishes first and then prepare afterwards for school again. I need to leave before 12:30 PM for me to arrive in school on time for my afternoon class (3:00PM).
Sometimes, I joined my aunts and cousins eat lunch to their house. Their house is actually 2x the distance from the school as compared to our house and hence most of the time, they do have packed lunch. However, there are times as well that they are not able to bring food for lunch so in short, we walk together going home after our morning class.
I have an aunt who is of the same level with me. We went to grade 1 at the same year but she's in the lower section (section B) while I am in section A. One day, she asked me to accompany her to their house to join with their lunch and so I did.
Everything went so well as per the usual but then when we are on our way back to school, I am not sure what's in my aunt's mind that she suddenly asked me (with a very low tone) to walk slowly. That time, we have my older aunt and older cousin walking together with us. She asked me to walk slowly so that my older aunt and older cousin won't notice that we're already been left behind.
And the plan s have worked. When we are halfway from the school, my aunt told me again that we just go to different route and find some guavas and cacaos to eat.
For those who are not familiar how cacao looks like, here it is.
That's when we noticed that my other cousin (only 1 year older than me) and another neighbor which is our classmate as well are walking together going to school behind us. So to execute our plans successfully, my aunt talked to them and asked them to join us hunt guavas and cacao.
`In other word, my aunt was able to convince both.`
So we went to the forest and hunt guavas and cacao as per our initial plan. We also played Chinese garter, *"tumbang preso"*, "*tagu-taguan"*, and some more.
Chinese garter:
Tumbang Preso:
Tagu-taguan:
When we thought that it's nearly 4:30 PM already, we walk down back to the main road to see if there are walking students going home already. We waited sometime there till we saw some and we walk together with them as if nothing has happened. Haha..
That was the first ever major sin I've made to my mother. I never mentioned that to anyone cause I know for sure that if my mother discovered what we did, what I did, she will punish me.
My second and last cutting class story
This has happened when I was in Grade 6. Me and my little sister was already on our way back to the school for our afternoon class when we heard from the radio in one of the house says **"Ito ang inyong.... Tiya Delly"**.
`None of the households in our place has television that time. Aside from the fact that there's no electricity in our place yet, only few can afford to buy television and even they can, it will also become useless cause there's no electricity to power it up except those who can afford to buy generator.`
And that means we're already late cause that radio program usually starts at 1:00PM. We're not even halfway from the school that time.
I told my sister *"late na tayo, wag nalang tayong pumasok"*.
During my time, our teachers are actually very strict when it comes to tardiness. We have teachers that will not allow late students to enter the classroom. They just let them stay outside of the classroom (at the door) as a form of punishment for being late.
So we decided to go to our grandfather's banana farm instead. That time, we have our neighbor (1 year younger than me) joined us. When she learned that we are not going to school, she volunteered to join us with our *"bulakbol"* plan.
Same thing as my previous cutting class story, the plan is to wait till we saw students walking on the road from the school before we go home so that our parents won't notice that we did not actually went to school.
So we played *"bahay-bahayan (play house)"* while waiting for the time. We built house using banana leaves.
We're very careful not to stain our uniforms otherwise my mother will ask the question that we are trying to avoid - The big **WHY.**
Everything seems going well until one of our neighbor passed by and got curious about the playhouse we build using the dried banana leaves. She get intrigued on what's inside and to her surprise, she saw us!.
She told us *"Bat nandyan kayo? Akala ko nanganak na yung baboy ni tiya, yun pala kayo ang nandyan"* . And then she just leave.
That time I knew that we're already messed. For sure she will tell my mother that we did not go to school and just played "*bahay bahayan"* in my grandfather's banana farm. But we still try our luck. We waited for the *"uwian"* time and just walk with other students pretending that we're from the school also.
While we're on our way home, I cannot explain my feelings that time. I felt so afraid. I know that my mother will surely spank us. Especially me cause I am the oldest one and knew that what we did is wrong.
A soon as we entered the door, my mother shouted loudly (with so much anger).
***"SAAN KAYO GALING KINGKING?"*****.**
`When my mother is mad at me, she always call me KingKing.`
I tried to lie at first so I answered *"Sa school po".*
My mother's anger has intensified because I lied. She spanked me so hard with all her force. Not once, not twice but a lot!. That I cannot even count. I can remember all the bruises I've got from that incident and I promised my mother that I won't do it again.
And from then on, I did not attempted to cut classes again. Even when I know that I am already late, I still go to school and just face all the shame for being late.
*How about you? What's your cutting class story? Did you suffered from spanks as well as a consequence of cutting classes?*
I hope you enjoyed reading my story. Till next time!
Types of Employee
After reading the articles about types of neighbor and types of classmates written by @Pachuchay , it gave me an idea to write about the Employee's different personalities. https://read.cash/@Pachuchay/i-am-the-wapakels-kind-of-neighbor-15bfae8d https://read.cash/@Pachuchay/anong-klaseng-kaklase-ka-d84d4918
In my 13 years total work experience in the I. T. industry, I've already meet different kind of people and I also bumped into different types of personalities.
Let me share you some based on my experience from my previous and current work.

The Always Late
Admit it or not, sometimes employees that lives near the office are the ones who are always late. This is based on my observation. I have one colleague before that lives in Mandaluyong. She's always 30 minutes late (consistent).
She always texted me like,
"*Ate Khing mahirap makahanap ng Angkas malilate po ako*"
or *"Ate Khing kakasakay ko lang po, late po ako".*
and sometimes "Ate Khing malilate ako kagigising ko lang kasi, hindi tumunog yung alarm ko"
I sometimes told her like "*O* *nauna nanaman ako sayo eh mas malayo ang bahay ko*". But she knows that it was just a joke and I am not really mad at her.
I also have a friend and a colleague at my current work who is always late. And whenever I ask where he is, his answer would always be:
*"On the way na 'te Khing"*
*"10 minutes 'te Khing nasa parking na"*
But the truth is, he is just about to leave his house.
*May Kilala ba kayong tulad nya?
The Most Punctual
Of course, if there's tardy employee, there's also this most punctual employee.
I have a colleague that lives in Cavite. But he normally arrives 1 hr before his shift, actually sometimes, 2 hrs before his shift.
And then as soon as he entered our work-area, he will login and start working right away even though it's not his shift yet.
That's why I always tell him :
"*Pre chill chill ka muna hindi mo pa naman shift, hayaan mo muna yung mga nakashift ang magtrabaho*",
or "*Pre tulog ka muna, hindi mo pa shift*". But I guess it's already part of his system.
He is naturally diligent and responsible.

The Most Friendly
This is the one that I like most.
I have one colleague before who knows everyone in the floor. When I say he knows everyone, he knows their names and the faces. He can easily distinguish them one by one.
The security guards, the cleaners, the saleslady in the pantry, and everyone in the floor.
During his break time, it became his habit to visit other's workstation to make small talks. And hence he gained a lot of friends.
I often tell him whenever I bumped into him while he's roaming around to different workstations:
*"Pre para ka nanamang kandidato na nangangampanya jan ah!. hehehehe".*
He is just a naturally happy person. Maybe that's why a lot of my officemates liked him.
That's why I called him as "**Mr Congeniality**".

**The "Petiks" (Relax) Now, Cram Later**
I know, some of you may have bumped into this kind of person already.
I have a colleague before where his habit is to chill at the start of his shift. He will only start working seriously during the second half of his shift and that is why he always cram specially during the last hour of his work. That's when he will suddenly remember the deadline of his task and starts rushing to make it to the deadline.
He is my opposite actually. I am a type of employee that whenever I have given a task, I'll do it right away. I'll try to complete it as early as I can so that I still have time to double check or triple check my output and complete it within the deadline. Cause my motto at work is "High Quality Delivered".
The "Reklamador" (Complainant or Complainer)
Have you ever bumped into this type of person where the amount of work he/she does equals to the amount of complaints he/she make?
They always complain about the management.
They always complain about their workload.
Always complain about the shift rotation and always complain about his or her colleague not sharing equal load with him/her.
They are actually the type of colleagues that are very difficult to please.
In my case, I never complained in my work. As I always tell to my Manager, I am always open to embrace challenges, change and new tasks. I am ready to step outside of the box if needed.

The Performer Introvert
Opposite of the friendly one, There's also an employee who do not get along with others. They just wanted to be alone.
They will just talk when you talk to them. They don't participate in the crowd.
They are good in time management. They come-in on time and leave on-time as well.
But, you know what? Most of the introvert employees are actually the team's pillars.
They might always be quiet but they are pleasant to be around. Cause when they are on shift, you'll feel more secured cause you know that they can handle urgent tasks or issues smoothly.
They are very reliable and process oriented.

***How about you?***
***Which type of Employee are you?***

Thank you so much for the unexpected sponsorship @Bloghound.
You're so generous. :)...Thank you again :)
Hard Work Bears Fruit
`This is the first time I joined on a writing prompt of` @JonicaBradley `. This is my entry for Writing Prompt # 12: Fruits of Labor.`
The Introvert ME
I am an introvert person. I grew up being shy, lack of confidence, and has very poor social skills.
I am the type of person that won't talk when you don't ask me. I do not initiate any conversation. In fact, I am avoiding any conversation (specially the long ones) cause I don't really like that.
I do not like to be the center of attraction. So during my childhood days, I do not volunteer in any school events like Linggo ng Wika, Intramurals, School Foundation day unless my teacher volunteers me. And since I don't like to talk too much, I don't want any conversations, whenever my teacher volunteers my name, I just go with the flow, memorize what I am being asked to and do what they wanted me to do on the stage.
Elementary School : always in rank 4
During my elementary days, every recognition day, I am always present. I usually get the rank 4 (since Grade 1 to Grade 6). I don't know what's with number 4 but during my elementary days, it's always been my rank.
I am not the studios type of student actually. I remember during my elementary days, my mother often told me "*Diba periodical test nyo na? Bakit hindi ka nag-aaral?*"
During my time, we don't have medium of transportation going to school but our own feet only. *My school in elementary was about 2 kilometers away from our house.*
High-School: Valedictorian
It changed a bit when I started high-school. I learned how to create "pointers for review" when I am First Year High School cause our teachers urged us to prepare a pointers and they will check on it before they sign your exams permit. That's when I learned that I can easily remember or memorize my pointers by writing them down.
It became my habit during my entire high-school days. Every time we have major exams (long exams, preliminary exams or periodical exams), I usually prepare pointers for review which I used as my reviewer. I read my pointers in between the vacant time, before the next subject starts.
And so I made it! I graduated as Valedictorian.
College: Scholar for 4 years
And that's how I get the scholarship when I enrolled to one of the university here in Cavite. Valedictorian and Salutatorians automatically gets the free tuition scholarship (for 4 yrs) as long as they are able to maintain a passing grade. It was a blessing for me and for my parents. My father is just a factory worker (with minimum rate). As a matter of fact, from first year college to third year college, I only got 1 pair of uniform. You heard it right. I experienced the wash and wear thing. Our uniform is a cream blouse paired to a Green slack. I used to wash and wear my blouse but not the pants. And since we don't have a dryer, I have to iron my blouse every morning before I wear it to make it completely dry.
I am able to maintain my 4 yrs scholarship at the university. That means I maintained passing grades for all of my subjects from First Year to Fourth Year. I survived!.
I am a Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications Engineering (BS-ECE) graduate.
Unfortunately, I am not able to take licensure exams cause months after I graduated, I started to work.
Career : I.T. Analyst
I became an Associate Software Engineer in Accenture (my first ever employer).
During my first month in the company, I used to wear office attire clothes I bought from UKAY-UKAY cause I cannot afford that time yet to buy a brand new clothes.
And then my first salary came. I remember, my colleagues are very excited to withdraw their first ever salary to buy PSP. It was an opposite of mine, cause I handed over my salary to my mother. I just took few which are enough for my 2 weeks allowance and enough to buy some new clothes.
I've been in Accenture for 5 years. I left that company as Senior Software Engineer.
My second job is in Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) located at Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, Manila. I've been part of TCS for exactly 6 long years.
I've had a very good relationship with our client. There's actually an instance where there's an open Team Lead position on the other team. So I expressed my interest to my Manager for that role. I am a very surprised on how my Line Manager reacts on that. He even make an effort to send me an email to my personal email address (non-work) and offered to have a heart to heart discussion about my desire to leave my current team and move to a different team as a Team Lead. To make the long story short, they did a re-org and appointed me as Manager. I managed three teams.
I am currently employed at a broker company (TP ICAP Philippines).
I'm here for 2 years and 4 months already. I also have a good relationship with my Manager here. He's very appreciative, very considerate and I can say he's a people person.
*You might wonder why we I.T. often jump from one company to another despite of our good status in our current work. Of course, primary reason is the "higher salary" offer. It is common in the I.T. world to pirate employees from one company to another. They tried to offer better amount as a convincing factor for an applicant to accept the role.*
Due to my stable working status (Thank GOD), me and my husband was able to establish a small business which I also featured in one of my articles: https://read.cash/@Khing14/the-level-up-story-4f815f02.
Believe me, **hard work** always **bear fruits**. So just keep on going!. Don't stop!. Step out of the box and explore your surroundings.
Me and my husband are still working hard currently for our family and for our dreams . Slowly, we are able to fulfill our dreams together. We've got a car now, (mortgaged for 4.5 yrs already) that helps our travels more convenient , a house and lot (mortgaged) and a small business though we're just renting the place.
*Our long term goal is to retire without worrying about the M O N E Y that's why we tried to establish a small business.*
