If I weren’t igbo I’d be jealous
9th march 2022
Like most of you know I am from the eastern part of Nigeria. A tribe known as the igbò tribe of Nigeria. We are well known for our diversity in culture, delicious food, industrious character and beautiful women.
States in Nigeria that are members of the igbo tribe include Enugu state, imo state, abia state, anambra state, ebonyi state and so many others.
I am from Enugu state which is one of the most beautiful state in Nigeria. We are well known for so many things like our natural resources like coal and palm oil, the university of Nigeria and of course our food.
Earlier today was listening to old songs when I came across a song that I heard when I visited the village. It was one of those songs they would play at a typical igbo traditional event like parties or even sometimes at a bar. I am going to leave a link of the song below for you all to enjoy.
It made me stop to think, if I wasn’t an igbo boy what tribe would I rather be. My friend and I who was equally igbo from ebonyi state got into it and started to share experiences that only igbo indigenes would relate to. First we talked about food..
We Igbos take pride in the fact that we prepare the most delectable meals in Nigeria. Typical African-Igbo foods include our soups ofensala, okra soup, and vegetable soup, the African salad "Abaacha," and other specialties such as chicken stew with jollof rice. So, if you're seeking for a woman who can take care of you when it comes to eating, the Igbo tribe of Nigeria is the place to go.
Industrious spirit
Igbo parents tend to instill the value of hard work in their children from a young age.
Perhaps it is due to our past, in which we have had to work twice as hard to live and rise as a tribe, or perhaps it is due to the fact that the Igbo people are in general hard workers.
We all have this belief that... "a business that can give us $10 can give us $10 million if we channel it in the right direction."
So, women, if you're seeking for a hardworking man, go no further than the Igbo tribe.
Our attire
The popular Obi-agu attire is a clothing design that can never go wrong. The design which comes in various colors from red to black, sometimes white with designs of lion-head,elephant, tiger-head or just different random shapes is an attire that can never go wrong. Don’t even get me started on the red cap.. marvelous !!! Simply wonderful!!!
A Strong, smart and happy people
As much as we work hard to make ends meet and to make sure that we can provide more than enough for our kids and our children, we still take out time to have fun, throw parties and enjoy ourselves every now and then.
The truth is the igbo tribe is an happy tribe. We pride ourselves in the fact that we enjoy each other’s company and that is why you would see a typical igbo-man taking his family to the village for regular visits 3 to 4 times a year.
The igbo people are the smartest people in Nigeria I believe. They are business smart, family oriented and academically sound.
When it comes to strength the igbo people are surely not behind. Our people have the strength required to farm, fish, hunt and trade. In fact we have been doing that as a means of survival since the beginning of time.
So in conclusion I am a Greatful to be called an igbo indigene and I would not exchange that for anything in the world. Enjoy this classic from one of the most amazing artist from the igbo land back in the day.. titled ONWA SPECIAL ..
