Finally, Mask Free!
090602022
Since the start of the spread of the COVID-19 virus, we have been told to always be cautious and wear a face mask and a face shield if going out or going to a public area to avoid getting infected by the virus. When the number of cases of infected people increases, and the number of people who are infected and die as well gets higher every second. The health protocols got even stricter and requested everyone to stay at home, and then the lockdown was implemented to prevent the spread of the COVID virus that affects a lot of people all around the globe.
It was a challenge for everyone, especially those people who depend on the member of their family who is the only one employed and became unemployed because of the total lockdown implemented. Work from home was then suggested to every organization and firm in order to keep their company running and to be able to pay their employees even though they were only working from home. But, the work-from-home setup is not for everyone, especially those workers who need to work on-site and in the field. They are left with no choice but to just stay at home and do something alternative to provide for their family.
The lockdown that we thought would last a week becomes months, years, and even decades (I was just exaggerating) LOL. It was a difficult challenge for all of us as it affected people’s mental health and even raised the number of suicide cases during those times of lockdown. Staying at home for a long period of time may be good and advantageous for some, but not for others as it worsens and triggers their mental health problems, especially in the environment that they are in.
After a long period of being trapped inside and unable to leave to see the outside world, the government finally lifts the lockdown implementation in areas with few cases of COVID, and the new normal is born. It requires a little bit of adjustment until everyone gets comfortable with the new normal set up. People are now allowed to go out but still need to wear protection like masks, face shields, and alcohol and maintain a meter of social distancing. The first month of the new normal went smoothly; everyone followed the rules for everyone’s safety. But as months go by, the social distancing is no longer followed by the majority and public areas and places start to get more crowded.
After a few years of wearing masks and face shields everywhere we go, the city of Cebu is finally mask free! The city of Cebu is the first place in the Philippines to no longer use a mask. It is no longer mandatory for everyone to wear a mask in public areas and places. People no longer need to wear their masks and will no longer be afraid to get caught if they don’t have a mask because our faces are finally free. But the mask is still required in some private places and areas.
Honestly, the other part of me is happy because we will no longer be wearing a mask all the time whenever we go out, but the other side of me wants to continue wearing a mask because I feel like I have gotten used to it already and also because it helps me hide my face whenever I don’t want to show my face whenever I go out. LOL.
I can say that we’re finally getting back to normal. Everything’s getting back to the way it’s used to be and I’m so happy with it!
Thanks for dropping by, I really appreciate your presence here.
Stay hydrated and stay safe always!
