World Sexual Purity Day

Your body is the temple of God. Abstain from sexual immorality. Sex is for marriage.

Good morning guys, how are you doing today? I trust that you're having a great day. Welcome to Monday, another working day.

Yesterday was a very significant day and I was supposed to write something related to what the day stood for. Yesterday was the World Sexual Purity Day. It's a day where we celebrate sexual purity. We also uphold and create awareness on what sexual purity is all about and the significance of sexual purity.

I was unable to write on that yesterday and that is what I'll be doing this morning. Back to the topic of the day, Sexual Purity. What is Sexual Purity? What is so special about Sexual Purity? Is it that significant? Why will someone just write on this kind of topic?

As we go on this journey, you'll see why and how important this subject is to a man's life.

We all know what sex is, so there's no need for definition. But there are terms and conditions as regards to sex. The creator of sex, put in within the confines of heterosexual marriage that's between a male and a female, not male and male or female and female. It's strictly between male and female. Anything beyond this, is called perversion and abomination in the sight of God.

Another emphasis is on marriage, sex outside of the marriage between a man and a female is either called fornication or adultery, which is also a sin and abomination before God. This brings us to sexual purity, this is being sexually pure which is only engaging in sexual activities only within the confines of marriage and nothing else.

Sexual Purity is a command of God to everyone. So this is not for a particular group of people. If you engage in sexual activities outside the confines of marriage, you're committing an abomination. And everything done has repercussions. In school, we were taught some of the consequences which might be contracting sexually transmitted diseases or having unwanted pregnancies. These cn be protected by using condoms but above these consequences are the spiritual repercussions which condoms can't prevent. Sex is like a covenant activity because there always transmission of substances between both parties of which blood is part of. If only you know what makes up your blood, you'll think it's only made of white and red blood cells, of which is not true. The blood is made of greater things, the blood is a means of identification that identifies you as a part of a lineage and in being part, you partake both in the blessings and curses attached to that lineage. So people that engage in sexual immorality, do not go empty handed, they go with the curses of their partner because it's done illegally and the devil doesn't bless, he only curses.

The Bible records that we're bought with a price which is the blood of Jesus and that our body is the temple of God that's to say that we were created to house God in us. But God doesn't live in defiled places, therefore, you're not allowed to defile your body. Sexual immorality is one of the ways to defile the temple of God.

Sexual Purity is very essential to your walk with God because He commands it. Sexual Purity starts with your mind. Because a man out of the good treasure of his heart give good things. You can only exhibit the products of the transaction in your heart.

There are mainly two gates to the heart which are the ears and the eyes. Everything that comes into your heart, comes in through any or both of these channels. The Bible says guard your heart with all diligence. The way to guard it is by censoring what you see, hear and read.

To any fallen soldier here that has fallen at one point, it's not too late to stand up and resume the journey of sexual purity. No matter how many times you've fallen, you have to stand up and lean on the grace of God to keep you. Also, do not tempt yourself, do not lean on your strength. Be like Joseph, he had to flee because of how deceptive the wall of man can be in resisting Sexual immorality. Do not give the devil any space at all. Also, keep praying and trust God for grace to remain on track.
