Is there something in the past that you can't let go of? Is there something in the past that has been a regret that you can't get over that always clings to your mind haunting you?
You know it is so easy to say this to someone but the first step to moving on is acceptance, right? But that's gonna take a long way. So when should you know it's time to quit?
I know that life is about perseverance, endurance, grit, and how you respond to certain situations but there are times in our lives when we need to give up. I believe that we also need to be open to God's surprises. At times we feel like we shouldn't give up because we are fighters but for all we know, we are supposed to move on.
If you are in an abusive relationship, it's time to move on. You don't deserve that kind of treatment. Everyone does not. If you have a job, and you are there for years and years but you can't feel growth, it's time to be open for opportunities outside. If you have a business that you've been trying and trying but still does not work out, I believe it's time to sort things out and be open to suggestions.
Here are four questions or situations that will help you out discern whether it's time to let go or still hold on:
Define a testing period.
Making a decision is something that should be pondered upon over and over again. It is highly recommended to think multiple times when deciding. Once you decide at a certain point, you gotta prepare yourself for the consequences waiting for you.
It is best to set a period so you can assess yourself if you really feel the need to quit or maybe you just want to quit because you're lazy on that day. Please think what lies ahead in the future of you make the decision.
Maybe you just need to take a break or what. Setting a time period also forces yourself to decide on that moment because you have given yourself time already to think.
Should you quit or take a break?
This question is very important and powerful. Ask yourself, do I really need to quit? Or maybe I just need to take a break? Decision-making is a life skill that everyone has not made perfectly ever. And so, when you assess your situation, is it now time to quit or just take a break?
Team buildings or vacation leaves are given to the employees to enjoy, give themselves a moment to breathe and be free from responsibilities even for a while. It is one good way of tightening the bond between the employees to improve communication.
Or it could be in a relationship. Maybe you just need to cool your heads off first to think clearly. You know it's not recommended to make a decision when you are at the peak of your emotions. Come to think of it.
Do you think you deserved to suffer?
Do you think you deserved to get punished? You are entitled to your happiness. You are responsible as to how you live your life. You deserve better things. You deserve to make your own decisions. You deserve to be happy.
May it be a job, relationship or business not booming, and you've been trying and trying to work things out until you got tired. It's okay to get tired. I believe that's one way of God or if you are not religious, the universe telling you to give up and be open to surprises.
Will your future self be grateful or be regretful?
Before making a decision, you also need to think of the future what will be its effect if I make this. If I make this one, will I be regretful or will it be a sigh of relief?
This takes a lot of time and discernment. I know, it's something you should really take seriously. It's not just about picking two pencils when there are only two available. It takes a lot of options to consider.
Decision-making is more than just picking what's best for you. It's about making the decision and cope up with the situation with grace. Even if you make the wrong decision, you managed to stand up, and make necessary adjustments to keep up with it.
Thanks for reading.
Keep safe everyone!
This is great. The part that caught me is where you said βdo you deserve to suffer β Because a lot of people suffer every because of the decisions they made and the ones they havenβt made.
