This world is a perilous place and we can't avoid negative things to happen. Either in the real world or the digital world, we can always encounter negative things that can trigger our anxiety or changed our mood suddenly. One minute I am happy and productive, the next minute, unwanted feelings are burning inside and making me irritated.
The negative happenings and events also drive our minds to become negative and can provoke our anxiety or depression. The same with how our life goes up and down, we are also going through an emotional roller coaster. And sometimes, that ride is quite tough to stop and might even go down drastically, or make us fall on the ground.
I know I am not alone here, because if I suffered sudden mood swings, then you guys experience that too. After all, it is normal in a human being. However, we can regulate our mood and stay positive despite negative things happenings around us. Our friends and families, and habits, also play an important role in staying our mind positive.
Here are some tips that will help us stay positive in negative situations.
ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT STORMS ARE NOT FOREVER
All things in this world are temporary, so if today is a stormy day, then tomorrow might be a sunny day. And always remember that not all things are awful, and some things suck, but they are just temporary.
Although sometimes, it is truly hard to divert negative thoughts into positive ones, especially if those negative things have been piled up in your mind. But we should always remember that problems, challenges, uncertainties, are what made us strong and a better person.
Nothing lasts forever. If we can get through negative situations, then we will be stronger, tougher, smarter, and better on the other side.
STAY CONNECTED TO YOUR LOVED ONES AND HAVE A POSITIVE SUPPORT GROUP
If you are working abroad, or far from your family, it is important to stay connected with your loved ones and friends virtually. We already have lots of options online that can be used to communicate with our loved ones and our current situation is a perfect storm to enable that reflex.
And it is true that in times of negative situations, surround yourself with positive people because they will help you stay positive. Just like with the saying, "positive attracts positive."
Even people in the virtual world can also bring your mood down, so what we need to do is to be counterproductive to what we want to achieve by practicing a positive mindset.
I have been in that negative situation and it even triggered my depression, but because of positive people, I am feeling much better and happy in my moods.
GET MOVING, EXERCISE YOUR MIND AND BODY
Do you know that exercise is the best mood booster? The more exercise we have, the more endorphins (happy cells) we release into our body. And I guess, this is what I needed the most as I felt down and unhappy most of the time, and sometimes I'm struggling to stay motivated.
I know it's not easy but maybe we can start small with gentle exercises like yoga and meditation. There are a lot of meditative exercises that we can find online, and they are helpful to make us feel at peace and can relieve our exhausting bodies.
Yoga and meditation can clear our minds so we can stay focus and positive in all things. And if our minds are clear, we can do things smoothly, and handle every problem positively. There will be less pressure and easy moving. The more endorphins, the more positive feelings, the happier we will become.
BE GRATEFUL IN EVERY SMALL THING
Practicing gratitude can also make us positive. We should learn how to value small things and remember that, we are luckier compared to less fortunate people in the world. Be grateful for every morning and the new life you have received. Be grateful for every meal we have on our plate because millions of people around the world are starving. Be grateful for the earning opportunities we have as not all people have jobs and some don't even have a single penny in their pockets.
Acknowledging small things will help us feel more positive emotions, deal with adversity, and build a stronger mind and body. And most especially, being grateful for small things will make us happier.
ACCEPT FAILURE AND FIND SOLUTION
We human committed mistakes and failures and sometimes, those things can make us feel negative. We are not perfect and we can't achieve everything successfully. But I believe that in every failure there is a second chance, every mistake can be corrected, and every problem has a solution. Because God did not give us something that we can't endure, everything has a purpose in this world, we just need to learn how to accept failures, and find solutions to every problem.
While writing this part, I was listening to @Jeaneth piano cover "I will be here."
This song reminds me that, no matter what happens, there is always someone who can help us get through every storm. And we know that, that someone is up there. And aside from Him, we have our family and friends who can help us stand every time we fall, and solve every puzzle and problem in life.
I have made many failures in life that I almost want to give up. But I tried to remain strong for my loved ones, for my dreams, and for those who believe in me. We are not alone, because no one is an island. Don't hesitate to grab a helping hand, because that is what we need the most in times that we can't manage to stand up alone during the storm.
Practice a positive mindset to attract positive things.
Although we can't avoid negative situations to happen, there are many ways to stay positive despite uncertainties. And again, it might be stormy today, but it won't rain forever. And always remember that there is always a rainbow after the rain. See positive things in every negative situation. Believe me, it will be easier for you to divert everything into positive ones.

I do agree with you coz negativity will only lead us nowhere. It's like sitting in a rocking chair that keeps us moving but heading us nowhere. Where just stuck in the same position/place.
