Anyone who visited Disneyland Resort would probably want to take a look at the Disneyland Hotel located just within the premises of the resort. I was given a chance to see the hotel when we had a weekend walk with my boss one Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't good that day and we only had a limited time so my visit there wasn't worth it. Since then, I was yearning to visit the place again to get better photos and roam around the hotel.
The holiday came last Tuesday which allowed me to visit the place again. My friend and I decided to have a stroll as the weather was just so perfect for it.
Disneyland Hotel is one of the hotels of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort just a few distances from the first hotel Disney's Hollywood. It was opened in 2005 with 400 rooms, dining areas, shopping, and other facilities. There are even ballrooms inspired by Disney Princesses.
The hotel is open for public viewing and anyone could visit for free during available visiting hours.
How to get there?
Visitors can go to Disneyland resort via MTR (Mass Transit Railway) which is accessible from any point in Hong Kong as well as from HK airport. However, due to Covid restrictions, the theme park is temporarily closed until further notice and that is probably the reason why the MTR going to the resort wasn't accessible during the day of our visit. And we didn't ask for further information about the suspension of the train going to the resort.
But there are other ways to get to the resort. Visitors who traveled via MTR and stopped at Sunny Bay station can ride shuttle buses for free to the resort. If you opt to ride in a more private vehicle and don't like the crowd, you can choose taxis if you want.
From the Sunny Bay station, we rode a shuttle to the resort's bus terminus. From the resort's bus terminus, you can either ride another shuttle going directly to the hotel or just walk from the park promenade to the hotel. However, we only learned about this second option when we went back to the terminus. So, therefore, we rode another shuttle bus going directly to the hotel.
Another way to get to the resort is via ferry from Tsim Sha Tsui ferry pier bound to the resort's ferry pier located along the seaside promenade of the hotel. However, I didn't see any ferry docking at the pier, so it probably was temporarily closed as well.
Welcome to Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel!
The hotel is surrounded by different trees and a lot of palm trees along the entranceway.
As you step foot of the hotel, you will be stunned by the architectural style and feel the magical vibe even just in the lobby. You will be greeted warmly by Mickey and Minnie Mouse that stood on both sides of the lobby along with cordial hotel staff.
The lobby looks stunning and grand with a giant chandelier hanging in the middle that compliments well with the theme color of the hotel. Several well-lit lamps in a similar style make the place even brighter, warmer, classic, and grandy.
Receptionists and other hotel staff are cordial and approachable, not only to hotel guests but also to visitors.
New hotel guests in line could stay for a while in the lobby and have a chit chat with their friends.
Of course, visitors could sit down as well and feel like a hotel guest as well or inside a Princess' palace.
You would really feel like inside a Disney Princess' palace as a group of musicians are playing Disney songs for the visitors. The instrumental music is soothing to the ears and you couldn't keep yourself from humming along with your favorite Disney songs such as Beauty and the Beast soundtrack, A Whole New World from Aladdin, and even Let It Go from Frozen.
Just on the left side of the lobby is Walt's Cafe where visitors could enjoy listening to the Disney songs while sipping Chinese tea, savoring their coffee in different flavors, and other food. There are other dining places in other parts of the hotel too.
On the right side of the lobby is Kingdom Gifts where visitors could shop their favorite Disney souvenirs, t-shirts, toys, bags, and other merchandise perfect for kids and even adults.
You can create your magical coin souvenir in the magical coin press machine located along the corridor near the Kingdom Gifts shop.
From the lobby area, feel free to wander around the hotel and explore every corridor and hallway.
Feel like a princess while walking along the classic and grand corridor like in a real royal palace.
Be a royal for a day! It's just for free anyway, lol.
Continue being a princess for a day and visit Royal Princes and Princesses' rooms. Who knows? You might meet your prince charming as well. Visit Cinderella, Snow White, Prince Stefan, and others, or read Disney storybooks in the Storybook Playroom.
Walk like Cinderella on the grand staircase with stunning giant chandeliers hanging beautifully on the ceiling.
Stop, pose, and feel the princess-like moment.
Below the grand staircase is the ground floor lobby where you could relax for a moment while admiring the beauty of the giant chandeliers above you.
You wouldn't just be stunned by the royal and classic architectural style of the hotel, walls and floors designs, murals and furniture, but by lamps, chandeliers, and ceilings of different royal styles as well.
Every wall frame and the mural has a story to tell and some portray paintings of people during the monarchy era.
That is just a small tour inside the hotel, now let's step out to the park promenade!
The most popular attraction of the hotel is the Mickey Maze, the first thing you will see once you step out of the balcony. The maze's height and narrow paths are suitable for kids, but adults could walk inside as well.
You couldn't just leave the place without walking in the maze overlooking the hotel.
While looking at the exterior architectural design of the hotel, you could see that it has some Parisian or British touch, combining Disney's architectural design. The Disney iconic lamps, posts, and benches of the same green color can only be found on Disneyland Resort premises.
Both sides of the hotel seem to be identical that were connected in the middle, from the staircases, corridors, and left and right parts of the hotel.
Aside from having relaxation and recreational activities, the hotel is also perfect for prenup and wedding reception, or simply just a simple couple date with its beautiful romantic backdrop.
Moreover, given that it has ballrooms and a wide garden, it can also be used for debut reception and other events.
More spots are perfect for family gatherings and playing that kids would truly like them just like this park with a mini-golf course.
There's an outdoor pool as well but due to covid restrictions, all pools and beaches of Hong Kong are temporarily unavailable for swimming. I'm not sure though if the hotel's indoor pool is also close.
Kids playground near the outdoor pool area.
And more spaces for outdoor sports and other activities.
Other services of the hotel include Lodge and Play Package with corresponding fees of course.
Visitors don't need to bring anything as the hotel staff would provide everything, from a picnic mat, and food of basket, and do a little camping in the lounge area. Visitors can also participate in arts and crafts sessions and other recreational activities.
Before leaving the Disneyland Resort's premises, head to the ferry pier and walk along the seaside promenade.
You would see people catching fish as well along the ferry pier.
Wait until dawn, and you'll witness a beautiful sunset
That's all for today's virtual tour. If you are looking for a hotel in Hong Kong, the Disneyland Hotel is one of the best!
Thanks for dropping by.
