Who's that Old Man?

This is the continuation of my article "The Old Man".

We went home after my class. I was really scared since the old man always in my mind then mom noticed me while we were walking at the road.

"Cheng what's wrong?"

Mom asked me but I continued to walk. I didn't want to tell her. It was the time, I started to feel scared everytime we went school. I was out of myself why I am affected with that old man I saw earlier.

We dropped into the market since mom want to buy a fish. After, we went home immediately. When we arrived at home, I walked straight at the room and put my things there. I lay on the bed and always thinking the old man.

"Cheng where are you? Can you help me with this?"

I heard mom voice and asking help. I walk outside fastly and helped mom. I get the veggies she'd harvest. I bring it into the table and mom sit there to prepare everything. She was busy slicing the veggies until mom noticed me again that I was really quiet.

"Cheng don't lie to me. What's wrong? Is there any problem?"

I was startled when mom asked me and I felt awake and I response her fastly.

"No mom. I'm okay. Don't mind me."

"I know you Cheng. Come here! I will show you this one."

I watched mom while cooking our viands. Thankfully my mind was divert on what she's doing that's why I love her a lot. She always find a ways that make my sadness and worries to be gone. I enjoyed watching her. I felt hungry when I saw the viands was about to cook. When it was already done, I sit there on the table while mom preparing our dinner. She prepared the rice and viands in my plate then we start eating.

"Cheng how's your class today?"

"It's okay mom. I enjoy it a lot. I have a lot of friends now."

Mom smiled at me, she looks so happy. After that mom assist me to took a half bath then everything was done. We went into the room. Mom noticed me again that my face full of worries.

"Cheng is that the old man again?"

I couldn't lie mom that time so I told her the truth.

"Yes mom. I'm really scared since he always staring at me everytime I saw him."

"Cheng please calm your mind, okay? I'm always here watching you so you'll be safe always. Nothing will happen, okay? Mom is always there for you."

When I heard that words from my mom. My worries were lessen. I was glad and thankful to mom. She was always here to comfort me.

It was time to school again. We prepared everything. Same always with our routine every morning. Mom cooked our breakfast together with our lunch then we went after. When I was already at school, my mom asked a permission to me that she would excuse a few minutes because something came up. She was about to fill up with the papers.

"Cheng don't be scared. You are not alone, you have your classmates too. Just wait for me, mom will be back."

I don't have a choice but to said yes but honestly I was really nervous. What if the old man appeared again.

After 30 minutes passed, mom didn't came back yet. I walked outside in our classroom to look mom but I was startled and about to shout when the old man appeared again and he was in my front. My body were shaking because of the nervousness. My heart beating so fast.

"Hello, what is your name?"

I was shocked when I heard his voice. He has an angelic voice. I felt bit calm. Until someone calling at me.

"Cheng?"

Then the old man turn back to see mom. I couldn't explained my mom's reaction. She was really shocked.

"Jeric?!"

I couldn't believe what I've heard. Mom and the old man know each other. Mom hugged him. I was stilled while watching them. I saw mom cried. I saw mom full of emotions. It was my first time seeing mom like that. I was like a statue there and I didn't know what I'm going to do.

Mom hold my hands and introduce me to the old man.

"Cheng she's your father. Jeric."

I was really speechless. I didn't response since I couldn't believe it. I stood there and still watching him. He hugged me immediately.

"Cheng it's been so long. I always find you and your mom. I don't know what I'm going to say but I'm really happy. I did my best and efforts to find you both. I always cried everyday, every night. I miss you so much! I miss you both with your mom! Thank you God! This is the best gift ever I have in my life!"

I didn't know what I'm going to say but I hugged him too with my mom. I saw his face a lot of tears. I felt his happiness. The unmeasurable happiness that I couldn't explain.

He was my long lost father! I'm really happy. God thank you! I meet him finally!

I heard mom.

"I thought you were dead because of the news."

I was confused after hearing mom.

"What is the truth? What happened? Why mom saying those words?"
