.
I had a very busy Monday. And for me, it's a sign of another great start to a productive week! I haven't done my Morning walk-jog though. Besides, my running shoes need to be retired already. Nevertheless, I have been pretty busy today that I did not even go home for lunch.
Hello, dear readers and friends! Another week has started and I hope you had a great Monday morning! It's already 9:21 PM here and my eyes are getting heavier. But my day is not yet over! Yup, I still have to finish this article and finish uploading the resources for my class tomorrow!
Yes! I have been so busy that I entertained the thought of not writing an article today! And that's something that I want to share with your today. Why do we need to sometimes push ourselves beyond our comfort zone?
What I did Today
I worked on that computer that needs to run a DOS-Based program. I was having trouble copying their files to the virtual machine using Oracle's Virtual Box. I don't want to go technical here, so please don't run away. The problem is, I had trouble running their program on the new computer. I could not even find their program in their old hard drive.
Then I found out, the program is not even there! I realized they are just mapping a drive from another computer in their network! Again to cut the story short without getting to the technical details, I found the cause of the problem and I got it working. I was expecting I could collect my professional fee today.
But then... (don't you hate that phrase?) another problem came up! And I have to solve it by tomorrow! I spent the whole afternoon working on that problem.
The reward for the day... Squid Game Pinoy Style
When I get home, I spent some time with the kids. Note that I did not leave any gadgets with them today. It seems they had fun whatever they did the whole day anyway. It rained heavily early in the evening. And as their mom prepared our dinner. We played a game portrayed in the hit Netflix series "Squid Game". Namely the "Green Light, Red Light"... minus the killing of course. hehe
But we played it Pinoy style! In the Philippines, we used to play a similar game. We called it "Pepsi, Pepsi, Seven-up!" don't ask me why we called it that way, but I think it's much better than calling it "Coke, Coke, Sprite"!
Anyway, the object of the game is the same. The "It" will have his/her back on the players, and call "Pepsi, Pepsi..." at this point the other players would walk toward the "it"! I played the "It" all throughout the game. We played several times. And I get hugs and kisses every time they reach me.
It was a fun way to spend some quality time with the kids without the gadgets.
My Comfort Zones.
Clear;y, my obvious comfort zone is when I feel tired, I would go to sleep and set my mind to finish my work the next day. Remember my post "Never Do Today What Can Be Put Off Tomorrow"
And I borrowed that from the big, fat, cuddly, orange, and an extremely lazy cat named Garfield.
But I hope you did not take that quote seriously. It's a joke, obviously. I confess though, that was my motto for quite some time. hehe.
And if it is still my motto today, I would already be lying in bed watching another episode of The Walking Dead online until I fall asleep. Yeah, watching those zombie flicks helps me go to sleep. Weird huh? But here I am, still typing. And I am already beyond my comfort zone.
Benefits of Pushing Beyond Your Comfort Zone.
For those who have been following me here and Noise knows that I jog or walk at least twice a week. The first time I did that after I got out of the hospital, I thought I'd take it easy and go for a four-kilometer walk only. But while I walking, I decided to find out how far can I walk. I walked for about seven kilometers that day. My legs hurt that day. But after that, I have been trying to improve my pace and distance. Last Sunday, I walked more than eight kilometers.
Last week, it was the first time since I started writing, I was able to write seven articles in seven days! And for the first time also, I reached my earning goal is read.cash for the first 15 days. And I think I can earn a little more. But, I had to give more time to Noise also. Though I already have a good earning there for this month, I think I can do more.
Final Thoughts
In conclusion, if you want to achieve your goals? Push yourself beyond your comfort zone. If you will stay in your comfort zone, you will never realize how much you could achieve. But you go beyond your comfort zone the rewards will be more than worth it.
