Okay before we delve into what leadership entails.
Let check the meaning Leadership and what a definition of a good Leader( there are bad leaders too).
What is Leadership?
With the help of the dictionary in my phone, Leadership is the capacity of someone to lead others or the office or status of a leader.
Who is a Leader?
A leader is a person who leads in a certain field in terms of excellence, success, etc.
Okay I want you to know that there are good leaders and bad leaders.
A good leader will always be appreciated by his followers while a bad leader will be otherwise.
The definition of a good leader is explained in this quote by Jack Welch:
"Before you are a leader, success is all about growing yourself. When you become a leader, success is all about growing others.” – Jack Welch
But a lot of persons believe Leaders are born, thereby living this office to all manner of people we have in the society today. Well the truth is that Leaders are made not born!! Yeah, you heard me right. And I'm going to be showing you how to become a great leader. It's just a manner of time, process, positivity and willingness to serve.
Here are tips to becoming a great leader:-
-Strategic Thinking Skills: A leader is a person who always brainstorm his/her way to success. As a leader you must be able to come up with ideas, innovations and thoughts, even if you're not the thinking type. You should be able to inspire your followers to think strategically. Always be ready to accommodate their opinions, ideas,e.t.c. One thing that makes a Leader stand out from different Leaders is how well he thinks. Task your brain to come up with ideas that will solve problems and bring more gains to your endeavours.
-Planning and Execution/Delivery Skills: How well are you organised as a person? Planning/organisation is a key feature of a leader. A leader always has a plan. Someone once said if you dont have plans as a leader, you will be planned out of leadership. People love to see their leaders make positive plans and execute them. It's one thing to have a plan, it's another thing to execute it. That brings me to delivery skills. You should be able to deliver at any point in time as a leader.
-People management skills: The truth is that the hardest creatures to control are the humans. This 90% proven psychologically. The truth is that you will have to work on learning how to manage people. You should understand that people are different, a lot of persons grew up from different environments thereby making it a strong influence in their life. A lot of persons will have different opinions about your plan or vision as a leader. Well try to hear them out, convince them politely why you should execute your plan and sometimes consider the opinions of your followers too. Most times they see things from a very intelligent perspective than yours. Build a Family kind of relationship with your followers as a Leader. Learn to be a motivation for them
-Communication skills: Great leaders are extremely good, they are able to listen actively and attentively. They are very polite and diplomatic about their questions.
As a leader you should know how to communicate effectively with your workers.
- Last but not the least is Persuasion skills: Another important feature is how well a leader is able to persuade is followers effectively. Well you can learn more about doing this effectively by reading books on emotional intelligence.
A good leader knows how to influence his workers positively.

One thing more. As a good leader must be able both to praise people when they are doing something good, and criticise them if they are doing something bad: always praise people in front of others, but if you have to criticise them, always do that between four eyes only, thus avoiding to shame them publicly. Then you get the better of them. If you shame them, you make an enemy.
