The Fruit of Love I have come to inform everyone of you From this **gazette** that I'll read to you It's a tale about a beast called Love And the fruit that only a few man have They say fruit is thick and fleshy And its smooth and shiny They say its so beautiful that eating it may be a waste But it is the sweetest thing you'll ever taste The tree that holds the fruit Is **garlanded** with flowers These flowers grow larger than a foot And their vines as tall as towers It's never out of season It's always there for the picking But there's a reason That only a few men come looking It is guarded by a beast So twisted and **grotesque** That even one of the best Will be put to the test Fangs as sharp as swords Claws as long as knives And a bite or a wound Is enough to snuff out your life A touch on its skin is even worse You may think it's fine but it is not It's enough to make your skin rot It's akin to a curse Its breath is a lethal poison And one that's very hard to cure And the pain is mostly the reason Why it's very hard to endure Its blood is acid It can turn metal into goo And if you're not careful It'll turn you into one too Even the flowers wither beneath its feet And the hearts it touches stops its beat Such is the creature that they call Love Guarding the treasure that only a few will have This is what it means to live by the knife To obtain something you shouldn't have So are you willing to risk your life Just to obtain the fruit of love?

Hey guys, I just want to ask, which is the best community to put my works in? It's mostly literary.
Lies Everyone lies From kids to adults Most of them lie And some do until they die Some lie for others Some lie for themselves Some lie for amusement So which one are you? Would you lie for your friends To save them from themselves Or to save them from others And sacrifice yourself? Would you lie to yourself To make you feel better So you'll stay yourself Even at the cost of others? Would you lie to amuse yourself To watch others fight among themselves Because of something you did yourself Just because you hate everyone else? One of these is probably you And I'm one of them too So again let me ask you Which one are you?
Diving Deep Every day you dive in How deep will you go Because the deeper you go The harder it is to breath in The deeper you go There's a risk of losing air The deeper you go There's a risk of losing yourself So how deep will you go? How deep in your mind will you go? To find things you never knew To discover new things inside you Will you take the risk And dive deeper than before? Or will you stay where you've been And be satisfied with what you know?
Borderline Don't you just feel the thrill That's the only thing you'll feel The thrill from the things you did From all the things that you hid The borderline of morality The borderline of humility And the borderline of humanity Is much more fragile, you see When you start to do atrocities You lose your morality Then your humility And then your humanity So when you lose them, What do you become? An empty shell who schemes Or a monster with dreams When you're on the borderline It's so much easier to see How fragile human lives can be And the only real enemy is time On the borderline, the only thing you see Is Good and Bad, Despair and Acceptance Life and Death, Giving Up and Perseverance The only thing to do is choose who you want to be Are you going to wallow in despair? Or are you gonna accept that that's all you'll be? Are you gonna be strong? Or will you be a coward like me? Being on the borderline Is just like being at the edge of a cliff It's very easy to choose If you'll jump down or back up a bit
Endless Masquerade Everyday you wake up You put on your neat clothes For all the bruises and scars That you need to cover up All the hurt inside That you always try to hide It always shows on your face All the regrets and sadness that you've faced So before you go through the door You put on your mask For the show's about to start As you open the door once more With your cheerful mask The endless masquerade will begin As you try to fool yourself And everyone else all over again
Searching for the Light - Chapter 1: Departure In a world covered in darkness, there lived a shadow. He was always sad because he was alone. There was no one to talk to and there was nothing he can see aside from the void surrounding him. He doesn't even know who he was and what he looks like. What he knows is that he could see nothing around him. Years passed, but he never tried to move in the darkness. He was too scared to move, so he was always alone. At some point, during the time he spent in the dark, he started to wonder about what he would see if he were to travel beyond that darkness. He wondered if what he would find beyond the void would douse the sadness that he's feeling. With his curiosity, he continued his journey through the dark and started to walk in the place that he was so scared of. There was nothing he could see and there was no path laid out for him. He stumbled and fell as he travelled across the unending darkness. The shadow felt something else this time other than sadness. As he continued to fall, he started to feel pain and he also felt tired with his travel. His sadness grew, as he started to think that there was nothing for him to find inside the darkness. But even so he still tried. After a while, he fell again, at that time he was ready to give up and just stay there but when he stood up, he noticed something not that far from him. There was a point where the darkness couldn't reach. Intrigued by what he was seeing, he slowly walked to where it was and found something warm from a far, but if one gets too close, it could burn. "Who are you?" asked the shadow, bewildered by what he was seeing. "I am a fire", the fire replied. "How are you able to fight the darkness?" asked the shadow. The fire answered, "Fight the darkness? No, I am not capable of fighting it. I am just able to produce light. Light is capable of fighting the darkness." "How are you able to produce light? I've never seen anything like it," the shadow continued. Then the fire said, "I don't know, as soon as I came into being, I was already able to produce light. But fires can only produce light for a certain time and when time comes that we cannot produce light anymore, we cease to exist." "I can see everything around me when I have a light. Can you accompany me to a place where there is abundance of light?" the shadow requested. Confused of what the shadow was talking about, the fire asked, "Why do you want to find out where the light is abundant?" The shadow answered with all the sincerity that he could muster, "I want to know about myself and I want to know if I will be able to replace the sadness that I am feeling." The fire agreed to aid his journey to find the light. With the fire's aide, the shadow never fell again because he could see everything around him with the light. He learned that he was stumbling on rocks, the rocks are commonly asleep and it will not even bother them if he kicked them. The shadow and the fire talked a lot about different things. The sadness started to get replaced slowly by happiness. They've travelled for a long time but as they traveled longer, the light from the fire grew fainter and fainter and the fire grew smaller and smaller. Then time came that he can only see things near to him because of how little the light is and how small the fire became. Eventually the fire said, "I guess this is it, this is where I shall rest." "No! Don't say that! We are still going to the place where there is abundant of light, aren't we? Why are you saying that?" exclaimed the shadow. "Well, there's nothing we could do about it, this is it for me. I don't think I'll be able to go on anymore. Thank you for bringing me with you on your journey. Good luck with your goal. I'm sure that you you'll be able to find what you're looking for. I guess this is it. Goodbye, my friend." answered the fire. The fire finished and disappeared. The light went away with him leaving the shadow in the midst of never ending darkness once again. The shadow cried in remorse for the first friend that he ever made. He cried until there wasn't a tear left to be shed. After mourning his friend's death, the shadow continued his journey to find the light as not to waste his friend's hope for him. The sadness in the shadow's heart grew as he travelled alone again in the void.

I guess I just want to believe That somehow it’s not true That somehow it will happen That somehow it can change In the end, I just hurt myself I just disappointed myself So I just went back To the way I was before And I hated myself even more
Under the Crimson Skies: Chapter 5 Every time I close my eyes, the scene plays over and over again. The sight of her sprinting through the stairs knowing that she wasn’t supposed to. As she fell on her knees as the feeling of relief flowed through her. And now, that I know more about her, the more I understand. The more I understand, the heavier my heart grows. I wonder how heavy her heart felt, how worried was she, how much frustration did she have. But I know it’s not my business to know. Somehow, I feel like want to know more about her but I don’t. I want to see her but I don’t. I want to be with her but I don’t. I felt guilty that she told me about her past and I didn’t share about my own. I felt bad that I wasn’t able to comfort her after she told me her story. And I feel like I need to return the favor and tell her about myself. Those thoughts raced through my head as I lie in my bed. I desperately try to look for reasons so I wouldn’t have to tell her but I can’t find a single one. I looked at my clock as I was pondering for reasons to avoid the inevitable and it turns out that it’s already 2 o’clock in the morning. So I just resigned myself to tell her and besides if I was given something, it would be rude not to give something back. And with the little time I have left, I forced myself to sleep. First thing I did as I was walking to school is to look around to see if she’s there but she isn’t. This would have been the best time to tell her so it wouldn’t bother me while in class but I guess it doesn’t always go according to plan. I just hoped to see her during break time so we can talk. During class, I was so distracted about what I should say to her that I didn’t hear my teacher call my name. Turns out, none of my classmates was able to answer the problem she wrote on the board. I would’ve been able to answer the problem but when she noticed that I wasn’t paying attention, she snapped. She was so furious that I was asked to go to the office of the faculty office when it’s break time. I went to the office hoping to get it over with as quickly as possible. When I got there, she went on and on saying that if I’m not interested in her class, I can always get out of class. By the time she finished, the break was already over so I just went to class. Then lunch break came, I decided to tell her after I eat my lunch. So I took my lunch from my bag and ate as fast as I could. As I was eating, I realized that I forgot to bring my essay which was due this afternoon. After I ate, I rushed to finish my output. I finished it but there was too little time left to talk to her so I just gave up and prepared for the afternoon class. Afternoon class was finally over. I packed my things, wore my bag and rushed to the door. I was then stopped by the class president saying that I’m on cleaning duty today. I checked the bulletin board and apparently he’s right. I apologized to him, put my bag back on my seat and started to clean. I finished cleaning but by that time, almost all of the students have already gone home. And I wouldn’t be surprised if she already went home. The sun was already set halfway on the horizon. I just laughed at myself for being so frantic about something so simple. If I’m not able to talk to her today, then it’s fine, I can do it another day. There was no need to do it instantly. Time will come when I am given my chance to talk to her but that’s not today. With a little disappointment, I took my bag, closed the doors, and walked the corridor. I notice that her classroom door was open. I glanced through the door as I was walking past it and there she was sitting on her desk looking outside the window. Then she looked at me and smiled. She took her bag and went toward the door. I stood on the doorway waiting for her and as she was close enough, she whispered in my ear. “Doesn’t it feel like we’re the only one’s here?” she then gave me the same playful smile as she locked the classroom door. “Wha…” “You okay?” she said with the same smile on her face. She then giggled and told me “Were going to the park today.” “What? Why?” I was confused because I thought she’s the type who goes home after school. “I’ll tell you later, c’mon let’s go” Then we headed to the park just as she suggested. She teased me on the way there but it’s not something I can’t handle. I still get my chance to tell her my story today after all. If I would’ve just waited then I wouldn’t have to deal with all the trouble I’ve been through. Chapter 6 https://read.cash/@Iremori/under-the-crimson-skies-chapter-6-9f9a563b
Under the Crimson Skies: Chapter 4 I hear kids laughing. I hear music in the background. I smell popcorn and the sweet scent of candy. I open my eyes, she’s in front of me, she’s holding my arm, occasionally looks at me and smiles as if to urge me to follow her. I look around, I see people, happiness evident from the smile in their faces. Bright colored lights, tents and balloons are around me. So I smile and then close my eyes, the colors, the music, the laughter, they all fade. I open my eyes, I see a familiar ceiling and sunlight creeping through the curtains. Just as I thought, something as convenient as that would never happen in reality. I laughed at myself because I actually felt happy after that. But then the happiness was then replaced by something else, the feeling of relief and disappointment because it was all just a dream. I collected myself and continued my day as usual. But then butterflies filled my stomach as I saw her on my way to school. And just like the first time, no matter where she was, it just looks so mesmerizing. She’s walking the same pace as her friends, the cheerful banter, the smile on her face, the wind carrying her hair, leaves falling slowly to the pavement. For some reason, every time I see her, it paints a picture in my head, a picture so colourful that my world pales in comparison. But it’s some place I don’t belong, a place as vibrant as that doesn’t suit me, so I just ignored her and kept walking my own pace. I couldn’t help but feel down after I thought of that. I looked down and laughed at myself because I know it’s something obvious. “Hey” I hear a familiar voice and as I raised my face, I see her in front of me. I was startled and just out of the blue, I asked her. “Why are you doing this?” And with a smile, she answered. “Because it’s fun!” A warm fluttery feeling welled up from my chest as she said those words. Then she pulled my arms and introduced me to her friends and I walked with them to school. During lunch, she saw me and forced me to eat with her friends. I was sceptical at first but it was pretty fun to have company. After school, I saw her again waiting by the gate and she forced me to walk her home. It felt pretty awkward without her friends around. The silence was starting to make me uncomfortable so I asked her the only thing that I’m curious about. “So, why were you so adamant that I keep what happened that day a secret?” “Of course you’re you’d ask that.” She smiled but it’s not her usual smile. She then continued talking. “You see, I wasn’t supposed to run anymore. My doctor forbade me from doing so after the accident. It happened last year. My father and I was in the car, were going home from the amusement park, we went on rides and before we went on our way, he bought me a keychain. I still remember how happy I was that day. Then a truck hit our car and that was the only thing I can remember. When I woke up, I was in a hospital and my legs were in a cast. The doctor told me that the crash broke my legs and my joints were damaged badly. But my concern that day was the welfare of my father. The doctor just apologized to me and said his condolences. I later learned from my mother that father died on the spot. From that day, the keychain became very important to me.” “I’m sorry.” That was the only thing I can say after she told me all of that. “It’s fine, no need to apologize. So I wanted you to keep it as a secret was so that my friend’s don’t worry too much about me. That day, I left my pencil case at school and the keychain was inside. he only thing I cared about at that time was to get it. I was very afraid that I’d lose it so I ran as fast as I could hoping it’s still there.” I couldn’t say anything afterwards. I just walked there silently listening to every word. “Well, that’s enough of the story,” she then laughed, “It’s no big deal though, it still ended well for me, I still have the keychain and I can still walk. Anyway, I'm fine here, thanks for walking with me and listening to my story. See you tomorrow” I waved and headed my way home. I guess it’s not always as bright as I imagined for everyone. What I learned from her is that every smile hides something beneath the surface. Another is that the brighter the light, the darker the shadow becomes. Under the Crimson Skies: Chapter 3 She never said another word after that. We walked around town for at least 3 minutes until we ended up in an abandoned warehouse. She let me go and she walked a few steps away from me. Silence came after. The silence made me uneasy so I started the conversation. “Um…So why did you bring me here?” She looked at me hesitantly. It seems as though it's something she’s uncomfortable to talk about. I'm not some insensitive jerk who would force someone to talk about their past. “On second thought, never mind. It’s fine, you don’t talk about it. I don’t really care to be honest. Besides, I was just a coincidence that I was there so you don’t need to explain to me.” “Are you sure? Because I want you to keep that as a secret, if it’s possible.” “Oh, that? What’s there to talk about? And I don’t even have that many friends to talk about that.” “Oh…I feel sorry for you now.” “No need, anyway, is that all? It’s getting late, I think we should go home.” “You sure you don’t want any reason to keep it as a secret?” “It’s fine, it’s not that big to need compensation for.” “Well, good then.” She giggles, “You’re kind, well, a little too kind if you ask me. Anyway, I’m Faye, nice to meet you.” “Oh, right, I’m Luke, nice to meet you too.” She then walked towards me and whispered in my ear. “You could’ve asked for anything, you know.” Anything?! You’re kidding me. Is she serious? “But it’s your loss.” She said that with a playful grin on her face, “Anyway, my house is just over there. See ya.” And with that, she left. I walked home confused and disappointed. By the time I got home, I thought about the things that could’ve been. But as I lay on my bed that night, one thing is certain. She’s a roller coaster of emotion and I’m getting carried along. Chapter 4 https://read.cash/@Iremori/under-the-crimson-skies-chapter-4-1124acf9
Under the Crimson Skies: Chapter 2 I just stood there for a while, mesmerized by the scene that was unfolding in front of me. Then she turned and looked at me. As our eyes met, I saw her hazel eyes as they were lit by sunlight. Thoughts came flooding in my brain as I start thinking about what I should do. Then I realize that I wasn’t supposed to be there. “You…” That was the only word I heard as I sprinted my way through the corridor. I basically ran my way to my house and I don’t even know why I did that. When I got home, I went straight to my room and closed my eyes. The scene kept replaying inside my head over and over again. I ate my dinner and went straight to bed afterwards. Hoping that I get to sleep early and hoping that I get it out of my head. But as it turns out, I can’t. I'm still awake and whenever I close my eyes, the scene plays again inside my head. I just tumble left and right as I try to sleep my way through that. In the end, I just gave up and let it play. Then I realized that she was going to say something as I started to run out of the campus. Realizing that, I can’t help but think that I’m such an idiot. Why the hell did I sprint out of the campus? I didn’t even listen to what the girl was trying to say. But there’s no point in regretting it now, what’s done is done. In the end, she won’t even care about me after that. The thought somehow managed to calm myself down and I was able to sleep after that. I got out of my bed, take a shower, change my clothes, eat breakfast and go to school. As I was walking to school, I realize that all the thinking that I did was just for nothing. In the end it’ll never change the way my life goes. Just the same as before, something as insignificant as that would not be enough to change my life. I got to school on time, the class was the same like every other day and then it is time to go home again. In the end, I got my hopes too high, I never believed that what happened would change my life but a part of me did. The part of me that was getting tired of the way I’ve been living my life. I walked on the corridor and as I turned to the stairs, I hoped that something would happen. Nothing, of course not, as if something like that would happen again. I walked on the school grounds just the same as I always did. But as I walked to the gate, I noticed her, standing by the gate, as if waiting for someone. Her black hair stretching up to her waist, her pale skin, thin lips, and those eyes that shine as they were hit by sunlight. As she noticed me, she fixed her eyes on me, never looking away even for a second. I chose to ignore her and continue walking but when I did that she started walking towards me. When she got close enough, I stopped walking. Then she asked. “Are you the one who saw me yesterday?” Not knowing how I should answer, I just nodded as to answer her question. “Then you’re coming with me.” She grabbed my arm and dragged me along with her to who knows where. But there is one thing I’m sure of. She’s leading me somewhere I wouldn’t normally go. And this would change how I’ve lived my life so I just tagged along. Under the Crimson Skies: Chapter 1 (Story) Most people say that the world is full of color, that there are a lot of things to experience in this world. But I can't seem to agree with that. For as long as I've lived, I've been stuck in this monotonous and monochromatic world. What I've learned is that the more you do something over and over, you lose interest in it, and in time you'll just stop caring about it. And that's the same with love, it's something that feels very strong the first time you feel it but it starts to diminish as time pass. Just like everyone that I liked. At some point I just stopped liking them. Just like every hobby that I've had. The more I get better at them, the less I enjoy doing them. Just like everything in this world, as time pass, things eventually lose their meaning. And today is just as monotonous, I woke up, ate breakfast, took a bath, brushed my teeth, went to school, and now I'm walking out of the classroom again. The corridor of the second floor is lit by an orange tint from the sun that is setting on the horizon. I look out of the window and I see the students slowly making their way to the school gate. Some of them are with their friends, some with their lovers and some walk alone. I slowly make my way to the stairs and as I turned and made the first few, the world slowed down. I see a girl running through the stairs, hair flowing wildly behind her, breathing heavily as she made each step, sweat running down her pale skin, dishevelled clothes, and a worried face. I smell a faint fragrance as she ran past me. Then the world was fine again. Curiosity ran through me like electricity. I want to know what made her make that face, why she ran from who knows where as fast as she could just to get what she forgot. I followed her upstairs and peaked through the room she went in. There, at the center of the room under a screen of crimson light, I saw her fall down to her knees, a sense of relief, and the most innocent smile that I've ever seen.
