She never said another word after that. We walked around town for at least 3 minutes until we ended up in an abandoned warehouse. She let me go and she walked a few steps away from me. Silence came after. The silence made me uneasy so I started the conversation.

“Um…So why did you bring me here?”

She looked at me hesitantly. It seems as though it's something she’s uncomfortable to talk about. I'm not some insensitive jerk who would force someone to talk about their past.

“On second thought, never mind. It’s fine, you don’t talk about it. I don’t really care to be honest. Besides, I was just a coincidence that I was there so you don’t need to explain to me.”

“Are you sure? Because I want you to keep that as a secret, if it’s possible.”

“Oh, that? What’s there to talk about? And I don’t even have that many friends to talk about that.”

“Oh…I feel sorry for you now.”

“No need, anyway, is that all? It’s getting late, I think we should go home.”

“You sure you don’t want any reason to keep it as a secret?”

“It’s fine, it’s not that big to need compensation for.”

“Well, good then.” She giggles, “You’re kind, well, a little too kind if you ask me. Anyway, I’m Faye, nice to meet you.”

“Oh, right, I’m Luke, nice to meet you too.”

She then walked towards me and whispered in my ear. “You could’ve asked for anything, you know.”

Anything?! You’re kidding me. Is she serious?

“But it’s your loss.” She said that with a playful grin on her face, “Anyway, my house is just over there. See ya.”

And with that, she left. I walked home confused and disappointed. By the time I got home, I thought about the things that could’ve been. But as I lay on my bed that night, one thing is certain. She’s a roller coaster of emotion and I’m getting carried along.
