Elsa lives in a little house in the country. She lives alone, her husband passed away 10 years ago. The person whom she had lived with all his life since he was 17 years old. His first and only love. Of those loves, that from adolescence penetrate you very deeply, and you can never get it out of you. They met in their freshman year of college. They were young, and love blossomed quickly. Obviously, they went through various situations that made their relationship falter, but love always came out. Love can do everything when it is true.

After graduating, they both began to work in the same workplace. This made the rapport between the two possible. One good day, in front of all the colleagues, during work hours, Jesus proposed to her and asked her to marry him, on his knees. This naturally led to two things: A smile on Elsa's face, and a yes in response. The children were not long in coming. With a difference of about 4 years each, 3 arrived. A boy first, and two girls later. The man had the task of protecting his sisters as he should be.

Little by little the children grew up and began to be somewhat independent. They entered adolescence and fell in love anyway. The man was the first to marry and leave the house. He made his family and went to live about 100 km from his birth home. Then the oldest of the girls began to study at the university, and every day it was more difficult to return home, constantly embroiled in projects. She left the university married and, together with her husband, ended up living in another country, due to a work contract. The youngest did not want to study, rather, she liked parties. I guess every family has a similar case. She did not get married, but she went to live with the man who had gotten her pregnant as a teenager, on a crazy night. They went to another city, and the living conditions were not the best. About 2 more children arrived after the first one.

For some strange reason, what a home full of joy and hope had now turned into a gloomy place, with no one but a few old men who hardly received visitors. That's when the worst happened. One day, suddenly, Jesus did not wake up. It is one of those deaths that do not warn, you simply lie down and fall asleep in eternal sleep, without any cause. You can't say goodbye, make your loved ones smile. It was incredible, that none of the 3 children could go to his funeral. Work commitments, and childcare, made it impossible to make the farewell trip to his father. The saddest thing in the world was seeing Elsa at the funeral, with no one but a few friends. Even friends tend to disappear over time. Some forget very quickly everything they have experienced. They turn the page and never remember that at some point they were almost like brothers. Others, if they maintain the bonds of friendship, and each day they strengthen it much more.

Today is Elsa's 70th birthday. She celebrates it every year. It is a day to unite the family. Elsa has only talked to her children and grandchildren by video call for 3 years. They believe that one call will solve years of avoiding contact. He misses family reunions when from time to time they could be done and work or other issues were not an impediment to unite and enjoy as a family. The grandchildren, who are life itself. Memories of childhood, and how we began to live.

Elsa sits at the table, with small candlelight, as if it were an intimate dinner. Although she is alone, she likes to remember those moments. In the middle of the table a roast turkey in all its splendor. A good wine accompanies the dish. Just as he is about to chop the turkey with his knife, he feels a knock on the door ...
