How to make your cat fall in love with you.
Some or you may be asking " isn't this an easy thing? Just give it food and tada!!!". While this might be right for some stray cats, not all cats are that easy to win over unlike dogs who trust easily and whose trust and love are gained by giving them food. Cats are a bit different and I bet those who have both cats and dogs as pets will agree with me on this one. Their mode of life is very different although they share similar characteristics.
Below are ways you can make a cat fall in love with you:
Love it first:
You can't possibly get a cat to love you if you don't love it first. If you are yet to know, cats are really proud creatures and can be narcissistic at times and don't fancy investing where there's no investment of the other party. Cats are very instinctive creatures and can read human intentions quite well. So the first step is to love it first, if you don't for some reason like annoyance or some other reasons, leave it alone.
Feed it with good food:
Cats love to eat but aren't bothered much by food hence they eat less and can be very selective with what they eat. Most cats here prefer fish, milk and cheese over everything else. My cat prefer those to even cat food itself. You can bond with your cat by feeding it when you're about to eat yourself, I am not saying you should share the same plate with your cat as its fur and even spittle can be harmful to humans. You can time when you eat with the time you feed them so you can eat like a family. You can feed it some cookies with your hands instead of giving it on a plate, this creates a feeling of closeness and warmth.
Play with it :
Cats a cuddly and love being played with. Normalize randomly picking up your cat from the floor and place it on your lap while stroking its fur, they love that a great deal. Pick a piece of string and take it back and forth from the cat, they move towards its direction in an attempt to catch it. That's how easy it is to play with a cat. Cats aren't really fans of chase plays like tossing an objects and bidding them to chase it. Some do like it but most of them don't. This makes them feel like they are being commanded and like I said, they don't like it. That kind of play is best reserved for dogs.
Give it space:
Cats love their own space and they need it. They are generally quiet creatures if you have noticed, they don't make much noise and as you get closer to your cat, you learn to understand it better including when it needs alone time. You can know this when you try to play with it and it gets all cuddly and just drop on your lap without moving, or when you've picked it from a spot it had been enjoying, it wiggles free to get back to the spot. There's this faraway look in their deep eyes that they have when they are alone, as though contemplating the mysteries of life. I have come to understand my cat better and its alone time is between 5 to 6pm.
Thanks for reading and I hope you've learnt something.
Peace.
these are great tips, I hope many people read this, especially cat lovers, unfortunately I don't have them.
