In whatever way you can... Do you agree that we should help people in whatever way we can or is it the one that says help people the way they want to be helped? There are different ways of giving help to people and while some of us think we're helping in reality we are just making things worse, because that's the way the person wants to be helped.. As people, knowing the difference between what we want and what we need saves us a lot of trouble, and while it isn't our place to decide what others want or need, there are situations where we might as well decide for them. Such situations is when they come to us for help and then you realize that what they call trouble is actually something easy to solve, and maybe that could be the reason why they came to you in the first place for help because they trust your perspective. However, in some cases the help people seek is not what they need and only then do you have the right to truly help them, because what people need is beneficial to them especially in the long run while what they want isn't always better for them. I can give a very basic example on this : A man comes with say, serious financial problems to you for help. Sadly this person always has financial problems and always seeks financial help from people around him. Those who can help him do so but when he comes to you for financial help, you saw beyond the wants, you saw what the person needs and you saw that what he needs isn't money but a, sustainable source of income. You used your connections to get a job for this man but he says that he doesn't need the job as it is too stressful or that it is unbecoming of his status, while that is what he needs, that's not what he wants. He wants people to keep on giving him money from their own pockets and that's what he sees as **help**.. Another example is when your close friend gets into a fight with someone and comes to you who say, is in a position to **help** him fight the other person, not physically but in an authoritative way, you perhaps are a person who's in charge of an important part of their life and you could ruin it if you so wish, would you "help" your friend at the expense of someone else just to satisfy his ego or would you truly help him by talking it out with him and talking things out with him and try to dissuade him from doing something extreme? Beneficial help doesn't come with expenses, either at the cost of someone, yourself, or the person who you're helping. Some helps people offer can affect the person in the long run, the person helping may or may not know this but the truth is that whatever actions we take have consequences, especially if there's someone else involved, help or so-called help is no exception. Of course it is not our place to decide what or what not a person wants or needs. People are aware enough to know that, we can decide to help them if we talk things out with them as to why they want your help, you might learn a lot from what they have to say or it can be the other way round for every opportunity is an opportunity for learning, but when things contradict with your beliefs, it is best to decline as it can haunt you if things don't go well in the long run, which is an expense that is I think far greater than anything worth compromising. Truth: A necessary repellent. One can't help but notice that as we become a more civilized race, truth is gathering more hate than ever. It makes you wonder if we truly are civilized. Truth, is now what people see as a necessary "evil" because while it is necessary, those whom it affects adversely view it through a lense of arrogance and egotism, therefore it is evil to them. I am beginning to wonder that the resistant to truth, just like love and kindness, is embedded deep in the human nature but when we come to look at it closely, we see that the psyche is the only resistance to the truth, not the human soul. What causes resistance to truth? The number one thing I can think of is the human ego. The ego is false so it wouldn't be incorrect if we say that it repels what is real, the truth. Attitudes like selfishness, pride, arrogance, hatred all have roots in the ultimate lie many of us have chose to embrace, the ego. When this form takes deep roots in the soul of a human, it seeks to destroy all that opposes it, even if it knows very well that behind all it shows outside, it is weak and false. The truth is a big threat to it and when it discovers this, it seeks to either stop the truth from spreading and developing or it seeks destroys it altogether, despite knowing that just like energy, the truth cannot be created nor destroyed, even when it appears to be destroyed, it always rises from the ashes to prevail, because that's what the truth always does and since the ego is a big lie to the extent that it lies to itself and makes itself believe it, it thinks that it can destroy the truth. Truth is resisted when there's something to hide. The openness, "trueness" and purity of truth makes it unnecessary for it to be hidden, and it always seeks to expose that which is hidden. The phrase "the truth is bitter" is something I don't agree with in its entirety. Truth is the sweetest thing on earth. Lies that pretend to be sweet are what gets bitter when the trueness of the truth exposes it, only there and then does it reveal its true nature. Wherever there's something to hide, there's a lie somewhere. Literally when you lie to someone you're hiding the truth. To prevent the truth from coming out you add more lies to further hide it. The more depths there's to the where the truth is being buried, the more the lie, to be more accurate many lies are needed to hide one truth and still the truth hardly stays hidden forever. It always prevails over falsehood. They're no match for the truth. As pure as snow: If the lie comes alone, without putting on garments of false truths, even the dumbest of people wouldn't believe it, that's because it relies hugely on the truth to make it look more presentable...and more impure. Lies have no legs to stand on. You hear stories in the media that appear true at first because there truly are elements of truths within them to make them look more appealing to the viewers who mostly have little knowledge of the truth beforehand. Since it appeals to the prior knowledge of the truth they have they believe it sometimes without questioning. Don't you think if a lie were to come standing on its own legs it then ceases to be a lie but a truth? It's like reading a bunch of lies and in the last paragraph they make it clear to you that all you just read is a lie... isn't that truth? Thanks for reading. How to make your cat fall in love with you. Some or you may be asking " isn't this an easy thing? Just give it food and tada!!!". While this might be right for some stray cats, not all cats are that easy to win over unlike dogs who trust easily and whose trust and love are gained by giving them food. Cats are a bit different and I bet those who have both cats and dogs as pets will agree with me on this one. Their mode of life is very different although they share similar characteristics. Below are ways you can make a cat fall in love with you: Love it first: You can't possibly get a cat to love you if you don't love it first. If you are yet to know, cats are really proud creatures and can be narcissistic at times and don't fancy investing where there's no investment of the other party. Cats are very instinctive creatures and can read human intentions quite well. So the first step is to love it first, if you don't for some reason like annoyance or some other reasons, leave it alone. Feed it with good food: Cats love to eat but aren't bothered much by food hence they eat less and can be very selective with what they eat. Most cats here prefer fish, milk and cheese over everything else. My cat prefer those to even cat food itself. You can bond with your cat by feeding it when you're about to eat yourself, I am not saying you should share the same plate with your cat as its fur and even spittle can be harmful to humans. You can time when you eat with the time you feed them so you can eat like a family. You can feed it some cookies with your hands instead of giving it on a plate, this creates a feeling of closeness and warmth. Play with it : Cats a cuddly and love being played with. Normalize randomly picking up your cat from the floor and place it on your lap while stroking its fur, they love that a great deal. Pick a piece of string and take it back and forth from the cat, they move towards its direction in an attempt to catch it. That's how easy it is to play with a cat. Cats aren't really fans of chase plays like tossing an objects and bidding them to chase it. Some do like it but most of them don't. This makes them feel like they are being commanded and like I said, they don't like it. That kind of play is best reserved for dogs. Give it space: Cats love their own space and they need it. They are generally quiet creatures if you have noticed, they don't make much noise and as you get closer to your cat, you learn to understand it better including when it needs alone time. You can know this when you try to play with it and it gets all cuddly and just drop on your lap without moving, or when you've picked it from a spot it had been enjoying, it wiggles free to get back to the spot. There's this faraway look in their deep eyes that they have when they are alone, as though contemplating the mysteries of life. I have come to understand my cat better and its alone time is between 5 to 6pm. Thanks for reading and I hope you've learnt something. Peace.
