Steve Jobs was born in 1955, the son of a Syrian immigrant and an American of Swiss descent.
His parents gave him up for adoption to a middle-class couple (Paul and Clara Jobs) on condition that the child, upon growing up, attend college.
Steve attended school in Cupertino , living in Palo Alto California, he was close to where the technological innovations were developing, so he joined a children's club called Hewlett Packard Explorer Club, and there he discovered that he wanted to dedicate himself to technology.
There he met the president of Hewlett Packard and was so impressed with the attitude of the young man that he decided to give him a job during the summer, there he would meet another Steve, he was 5 years older but they immediately became friends, his name was Steve Wozniak .
Steve Wozniak was indeed a prodigy, but he did not have the mentality of Steve Jobs and much less his ambition, but he was a genius, Wozniak at 3 years old already read, at 7 he built his own radio, at 12 he was already a genius of electronics and created his own inventions.
One of them was “the blue box” a phone with which they could call anywhere in the world for free, however, he could not commercialize his idea because it turned out to be illegal.
Meanwhile Steve Jobs arrived at Reed University and there he realizes the great economic effort that his parents made to send him to school, also he did not like the classes, so he stopped attending the classes that were compulsory and entered the ones he wanted.
Eventually he dropped out of college and went to India, he was quite a hippie, and he was against the established order, but he didn't have a job so he kept going to some classes and sometimes he ate for free at the Hare Krishna temple, finally he found work in Atari.
There, he reached an agreement with his boss, Nolan Bushnell to create a game, Steve Jobs contacted Steve Wozniak to help him and said that they would pay them $ 1,000, 500 for each, Wozniak was happy and very grateful to his friend for get him that job.
The game they created was similar to the famous “ Pong ” except that instead of two bars bouncing a ball, it would be the ball knocking down some bricks until they were finished.
When it went on sale, the video game was a hit.
Many years later Steve Wozniak discovered that Jobs had lied to him, they were actually paid $ 5,000 and Steve Jobs only gave him $ 500. But good-natured as always, Wozniak forgave his friend.
Wozniak was working on a personal computer, instead of the huge ones that were used back then, and he showed the design to his friend Steve Jobs, he immediately told him that they had to market it but Wozniak didn't want to because they were not going to get the money back .
And then Steve Jobs convinced him to found his own company and so Apple Computer was born , Wozniak tried to sell that first computer called Apple I but those of Hewlett Packard considered the ridiculous idea, Why would someone want to have such a device for personal use?
No one wanted Steve Wozniak's invention , but Jobs did not give up and took charge of the situation, turned the company's image around and began visiting prospective clients.
With a scruffy beard, sandals and a great personality, he started going to computer shops and fairs where he showed his ideas to technology lovers, everyone was surprised, he managed to sell 100 to the Bite Shop, and they began to manufacture them in the garage Steve.
They hired their friend Dan Kottke , who, although he didn't know anything about computers, was helping them to weld the pieces and so they had the order in time .
Electronic magazines begin to review the machine as a success, managing to sell 200 more pieces at a price of $ 500 each.
The Apple I was very simple for those who knew computer, if not wise computer you install it was not easy, came with diagrams but also you needed to know electronics to connect with their adapters to any to the TV monitor.
Steve Jobs had a great idea, which sounds normal today but nobody had thought of it until then, to make a personal computer that anyone could use, so you didn't restrict your market to just computer experts .
The problem was that it was not needed .
And so the Apple II was born, an improved version, Steve Jobs turned a strange machine into a device for mass consumption, now people had to be convinced that they needed a machine in every home, and all this was 20 years before the era from Internet.
Steve Jobs managed to convince the world that they needed an Apple II in their homes, you did not need to be a computer expert to use it, although you did have a high income since they were very expensive, despite that more than 300,000 units were sold.
As the small business was taking over the world and growing, schools started using Apple IIs due to their ease of handling.
But the first problem comes, and that is that Apple, the record company of the Beatles sue them, for the use of the name.
Everything was solved when Steve Jobs managed to convince the record company that they would never sell music so they would never be direct competition. (Years later Steve broke his promise and Apple sold music)
Steve (who in himself was not modest), began to feel invincible and decided to face the largest technology company in the world, IBM, which had also been inspired by the Apple II to also sell a personal computer.
The IBM machines were not good, but they are beginning to sell and invade the Apple market with the idea that they copied, Steve Jobs was furious, he knew that people only bought the IBM by name and not because they were of quality, so He decided to face them with everything.
Steve Jobs was about to change the world, but he could not alone, his company had grown a lot, it was already listed on the stock market, it had a board of directors and it had hundreds of employees, so he decided to hire someone to run the company.
He needed someone accustomed to defeating large companies, the chosen one was John Sculley who, during his tenure at Pepsi, had destroyed Coca Cola .
Jobs told him: you want to continue selling sugar water or you want to change the world, Sculley resigned and went to head Apple.
Thus Steve Jobs was able to dedicate himself to directing the creation of products.
But he was an obsessive person, working 90 hours a week and forcing his employees to work to the limit to launch a machine that would destroy the competition, they would call it: Macintosh.
After 3 years of work, for 1984 it was ready, and the year was prophetic for Steve Jobs, and that was the title of the novel by the writer George Orwell that denounces a society controlled and watched over all the time by the "Big Brother ".
Steve Jobs convinces Ridley Scott ( Ditector to be Blade Runner and also later directed Gladiator) to shoot a commercial where they implied that IBM was the big brother, and that the small California company could defeat them.
The television ad was a success, it showed hundreds of gray people walking towards an auditorium to listen to the big brother's speech, nobody has an opinion, until a young athlete enters and throws a hammer at the screen and breaks it, Apple defeated the enemy.
But Steve Jobs does not allow the Macintosh to be presented to the public, nor to appear in the advertisement to generate expectations , he also decides to rent an audience and he stops on stage to give a speech and present his computer, his show is a success .
The Mac was incredible, you could control the actions with a small box connected by a cable, to the computer they called, he called that invention "Mouse", but Steve Jobs had stolen the idea on a visit to Xerox, although he it occurred to him to use the mouse in that way.
The Mac was revolutionary, even children could use it, for the first time a “Desktop” was used, stationery, a new operating system, everyone was surprised, especially a young man who had created a small company that made software, his name was Bill Gates .
Bill Gates worked for Apple creating software for him, his company Microsoft started copying everything, Bill Gates often visited the company to talk to the engineers until Steve Jobs discovered that Bill gates was stealing all the ideas from the Macintosh.
It was too late, Bill Gates had betrayed Steve Jobs and copying all his ideas under the name of Windows, he sold to all of the competition everything that Mac offered, even the PCs began to incorporate a mouse like the Mac.
Steve Jobs' vision was to innovate, his products were expensive, but always quality, light years from the competition and easy to handle, so he started creating a new computer but the man Steve hired to run the company was not agreement.
So after the failure of Jobs' new computer, he decided to do something unthinkable, John Sculley the man who was hired by Steve Jobs, fire him from his own company.
Everyone said that it was finished, he thought of moving away from technology but again he wanted more, he decided to found his own computer company (again) and called it " Next ", but that was not all, he bought George Lucas a small special effects company.
The graphics group , the company that Steve bought would be renamed and Steve signed a contract with Disney to create films for them, but the films would be entirely made by computer, Jobs' company would be called: "Pixar".
Again Steve was going to change the world.
His company became a hit. Computer-made movies replaced classic animation, but things didn't look good at Apple without Steve.
After 10 years, 97% of the world's computers used Windows, Apple was about to disappear, and John Sculley was fired but the brand was almost dead. The new director decides something incredible; buy the Next company owned by Steve Jobs.
And so Apple re-hires him, The prodigal son returned to an almost dead company so he had to ask a businessman for a financial injection, Steve was going to present that character in an auditorium and announce his alliance, but the character decided that it was in video call.
When Steve Jobs presented it, the public booed the guest, for them it was the devil, it was Bill Gates who came to save Apple with his money and with his alliance so that Windows for Mac could be used.
Steve Jobs presents an impressive computer, it was also cheap (compared to the previous ones) it was innovative, everything was included in the body of the screen, you only connected the keyboard and mouse and voila, you could start browsing the internet.
In 2001 he surprised the world again and presented a product that would change the way of listening to music, he named it iPod and the rest is history.
Steve Jobs looked invincible, but in 2004 he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, the prognosis was not encouraging, the end was near.
In 2005 after a transplant , he had recovered and left the disease behind, and he wanted to finish his masterpiece, a device that had everything, but everything he had invented and much more, and he also wanted to make phone calls on it, I'd call it: iPhone.
Several concepts were leaked but when the iPhone was finally presented in 2007 everyone was surprised, the phone had never seen anything like this, the product was simply innovative, it was beautiful, it was simple, it was years away from everyone as always.
There was nothing that Apple presented that was not innovative, it began to have thousands of fans, in addition its devices were related and the purchase of one led to another in 2010, Steve Jobs presented something risky, a product that already existed and that was a failure.
It was a hybrid between computer and telephone, the press assured that it would be a failure, but Steve Jobs went ahead and presented his iPad.
During the presentation he was emaciated and rumors that his illness had returned began to circulate.
The last device he presented was a new iPhone, again it was perfect, the competition had copied the design to the first iPhone so Steve redesigned it, it was elegant and with technology superior to most phones (although some already exceeded it n) .
It was iphone 4.
After that presentation he resigned to fight his disease but lost, Steve died in 2011 and the men in charge of the company promised the public that Apple would continue to innovate that they would not sell just to sell, that Steve would not be noticed to be gone. That never happened!
The world lost a man who wanted to change the world, but you who read this can also change it, just do not stop dreaming, being rebellious, creating, asking, because those who are so crazy as to believe that they can change the world, are the ones that make it.
End.
