Have you ever wondered why the operation room is called 'Operation Theater'?
In fact, the operation rooms of the previous era were built like a theater! There was a large gallery around the room where the visitors lived!
This is a historical picture taken in 1945. When you look at the picture, you can see that there is an operation downstairs, and the students and nurses are watching from the balcony above (like watching a movie in the theater). This is why we still call the operation room the operation theater.
