SmartBCH: Blockng bridge
I don’t know what to term the present back and forth going on with the coinflex bridge. The fear the investors are showing is justified and this says much about the danger of using custodian wallets and the need for the SHA GATE. The bear market alone is an eyesore so the reaction to the various news circulating is expected.
For some days now I’ve been using Peer to peer aid to bridge BCH to and fro SmartBCH but the discussions on various telegram group were discouraging most of my friends, I won’t lie -I got scared too. Then came the news that blockng in collaboration with Mistswap has provided an alternative bridge I was glad but never tried it. A friend reached out to me that he tried the bridge but it didn’t work, so I decided to try it too. I also failed in my attempt to use the bridge but thanks to friends on noisecash I was referred to an article by @Idksamad7869
After going through the article I decided to try it out again and that was the beginning of my long night. Blockng and Kasumi of Mistswap are one of the valuable members of SmartBCH and this new bridge is a testament to the great work they are doing. Getting BCH to SmartBCH is still possible despite the present issue with Coinflex which affected hop.cash
First step
Using Mistswap I swapped 0.44BCH to bcBCH. Apparently, it isn’t a 1:1 so there was a slight difference in the amount of bcBCH received but it’s still the same dollar value.
Step two
I click the Bridge icon from blockng after doing the usual connection of the wallet. Since the test was to see if I can withdraw my Sbch to Bch using the bridge I have to choose from SmartBCH chain and to Binance smartchain.
I entered the amount wanted to swap and confirmed the transaction. This was where I made a mistake. I didn’t know the next step to take but decided to click on claim. I didn’t have the required gas fee so I cancelled the transaction and went back. At this stage, my bcBCH was no longer in my wallet and I got scared. I decided to reach out to the community on blockng TG group and BCHpete sent me a link to a doc that explained everything.
I realized that I should have copied the transaction hash to confirm the transaction manually but I didn’t. so the search for the transaction hash began. I opened countless tabs and checked various transaction histories but none seems to match my address. I was going back and forth. I spent hours and It was already past bedtime. After several failed attempts I decided to private message BCH Pete and he was supportive. I messaged him without prior notice yet he attended to me politely and answered every question I asked him. He even sent screenshots of how I can get to see the transaction hash from my wallet.
Step three
Please always remember to copy the transaction hash when doing the bridging. Thanks to Pete I was able to claim the bcBCH on Binance Smartchain and from there it was easy to swap through Pancakeswap and I finally have my BCH back in my Bitcoin.com wallet. Though it’s just a test, I still have some sBCH in my metamask wallet but I’m glad it went through and I can assure everyone that there’s no need to panic, SmartBCH is here to stay.
I hope the coinflex issue gets resolved soon and everyone can be calm again. Also, there are other ways of bridging BCH to SmartBCH, some are one-way bridges while some are two ways. Prompt.cash is an example. As they say in advertisement- “Every publication is an advertisement”, this present situation has led to so many people writing SmartBCH off, especially on Twitter but this is only increasing the publicity, with time all haters' mouths will be kept shut.
Thanks for Reading! 🤗 💚🤗
