Hashtag Horrible Bosses
For the past few days, tales of different horrible experiences suffered in the hand of different bosses in top firms in the country has been making rounds. At the top of the trend table on Nigeria's Twitter is the hashtag horrible bosses (#horriblebosses). Reading all these stories breaks one heart and you wonder if these bosses are human at all. Videos and chats of various bosses bullying their employees surfaced and everyone condemned the act. What I noticed was the way everyone was saying the issues with horrible bosses can be solved by being one’s boss. Owning a business of your own and not being under anyone’s rule.
Though they are right to some extent but that doesn’t solve all the problems. As I love saying, “not everyone will be an entrepreneur, not everyone will own a business of their own, not everyone will start a business and become a millionaire overnight. You need to start from somewhere, maybe work with a firm before staying yours, gain some experience but know when to quit. Do not overstay your welcome. Overstaying your welcome is more common than you think. If done unintentionally it can be a sign of covert narcissism.
The way I have learned to stay out of this trap is to have a set time to spend with people and stick to it no matter what. It has worked for me so far. It isn’t only when it comes to work, but in life generally.
Being dependent on someone can be frustrating and hard. You lose your self worth and tend to try to please the person no matter how detrimental it is to you. It isn't bad to depend on someone but when it happens for long it brings disrespect and disgrace
Nothing beats working for your own money. You feel a sense of satisfaction when you spend such money. The feeling of having created something on your own. The feeling that you are your own boss. For the most part, feeling financially stable and independent is almost always better than the alternative. At a time when people are moving back home with their parents and job security is a thing of the past, being self-employed is no longer a weird choice. As a matter of fact, it is becoming the norm. With the rising cost of education and the growing list of skills required to get a job in today's market, many graduates are finding themselves having to do what they thought they would never do— work for themselves.
So, if you are Self-Employed doing something that makes you happy, do you know how not to lose your money? Here are some tips :
-. Keep your eyes on the prize. It's true, you're starting a business for freedom and to do what you want, but it's also true that you'll still have to look at the bottom line. You need to be realistic about your bottom line and factor in the income you need to live on in order to stay motivated and focused.
-. Don't be afraid to spend money on your business. Whether it's a new computer that helps get your work done or buying a nice pen that makes you feel good while writing or any other business expense, don't be afraid to spend money to improve your business. But don't go too overboard and throw money at every problem under the sun. A lot of businesses are free or very low cost with ways to bring in income.
Simply acknowledge that you'll need money to get your business up and running and then go for it. It may take a lot of hard work and dedication, but once the project is finished, you can look back and see how much it was worth. Business is all about working smart, not hard.
One thing I've learnt in the short time I’ve spent on earth is to be cautious with money. The last thing you want to happen is living with regrets like being broke or regretting the way you spend your money.

Most of these bosses are wicked, only few are kind to their workers. Most of them don't want progress for their employees maltreating them, trying to them if them to sack them if they complained . Some leave coz they can't endure why some decided to stay due to unemployment in the country.
