If you have not been considering yourself a writer before, after going through this article it will be better if you start considering yourself one. If you agree with me that you're a writer then you must be ready to protect your image more than anything.
In recent weeks we've seen the issue of plagiarism is being raised and so many articles on its impact were written. The repercussion of doing such was also cited in all these articles. It takes a single step for one to turn from a Hero to Zero. Someone people heap praises on today, can turn to someone being ridiculed the next day.
One has to take every single post/book like his first. Resting on past laurels or glory can be so dangerous because we are in a world where your last action is used in determining what you are. Though Plagiarism will always come forefront as one of the stimuli to the fall of any writer, negligence and lack of observation can also be the beginning of the End for a writer.
Every day is a new Auditioning
You must have written or done something to capture the attention of your readers and lovers. Some become "faithfuls". They defend you and support you no matter what because your write up at some point has endeared you to them. They've tattooed your name in their heart and nothing you do can ever be wrong to them. Just like some Drake's or Kanye's fans will dance to anything he drops no matter what it is. Let him go to the studio and sneeze. Make it a Four minutes long mixtape, you will see so many fanatics vibing to it and claiming it has deep meanings.
However, it's the joy and aspiration of every musician to see new people join their fan base each day. So they work on every single song as if it's their first. Likewise, a writer's desire and aspirations are to garner more readers each day. In the case of readcash- more readers and subscribers.

Take every article as an exhibition to showcase yourself, to show your reader and fan that you're deserving of the love they shower you. Moreover, if you want new subscribers in your camp or corner, you have to write what someone who hasn't read your post before will find interesting or impactful. You don't rest on past glory. To remain relevant you have to grow every day, evolve each day, give your best every day, thirst for more each day and hustle like a newbie every day.
A writer is only as good as his last post/book
We are in a world where a single mistake can destroy what one has been building for years. I once read an article from Tired_momma (I'm not 100% sure if it was on her page I read the article or someone else's). She talked about how people are quick to call one bad behaviour from someone as the person's true colour. It's the reality of the harsh world we live in.
If you are the type that does something before but maybe due to a change in status or unforeseen circumstances you stop for a day or two, you will see people talking about how this is your true colour and that the former was nothing but a facade. The same thing takes place in writing. "One bad" article can lead to great damages. "One great mistake" can lead to eternal stigma and doubts from your readers.
Just like the way most people blame the devil for any bad thing they do. We writers tend to call our misdeeds a "Ignorance". People hate having to doubt everything someone says. They feel bad for not trusting such a person. It takes a lot of work for the person to regain their trust back. Though I might not take any action. Most likely U will just ignore the person but some people won't do that. The funny thing is people who do a similar thing or has done something similar will join in throwing stones. In anger they take drastic actions and to be sincere, I don't blame them.
Conclusion...
We are in a field where a second chance is rare. An attempt at a bad joke, wrong lacing of words, promotion of generally unacceptable contents can all change the tide of events.
"Everybody deserves a second chance at redemption" is what most people say. But only 0.1% gets a chance at redemption. To avoid being among the 0.90% that are unlucky, why don't you just put more effort into whatsoever you are doing. Find your niche. Find out what endeared you to many before. Go back to hustling with passion like a newbie.
Thanks for reading!🤗🤗🤗
Writing as if it's the first time, or as if it's the last. So always be in touch with what we write, taking into consideration the possible outcomes if we don't monitor our works well.
