Bees need love too

Bees are honestly among the few insects I really like seeing, mainly because they’re really great pollinators for so many flowers and food crops that we humans consume but there’s also the fact that they are really smart and well organized groups of insects. That’s why even they have working classes like humans

There’s the queen bee we all know about, she lays 2,500 eggs a day and lives up to 5 years just doing that. And the drone bees that get busy with the queen most of the spring and summer, unfortunately they get kicked out of the hive when winter comes because they consume way too much of the hive’s honey reserves

Then worker bees who are the ones who collect nectar and makes honey. These are the bees that do the cute waggle dance. This dance points the rest of the hive towards the food source, whether it is flowers or other plants

And when the queen dies, it’s up to the workers to select the new queen from the larvae (newly hatched bees). The larvae become queen by being fed so much royal jelly, which is what makes her very fertile (Also why royal jelly is used so much in.. libido boosters)

They have 170 different smell receptors that make it possible for them to really differentiate their own smells from the others, and also this helps them identify flowers that have already been collected nectar from and other materials they should stay away from.

Unfortunately, their population is going down, either because of all the improper bee keeping method, the lack of food source or they end up becoming a food source. Having humans kill them is also one ;-; bees don’t sting unless they get disturbed so people, if you see a bee, let them bee. They’re good and don’t want to die from stinging you because they still have a hive to return to. And if they ever do go extinct, think about how they'll ever go extinct, we're definitely going down with them

So we really need to help out the bees by planting more plants.

No hate, just UwU

Look at all these baby bees. How can you possibly think of hurting

they're way too exceptional more than I thought.. and I only knew that they have a queen bee in the hive.. they must also be given attention on how to protect them coz they contribute much in the ecosystem

Truly. Plus you'd be amazed at their speed range when they travel. They're like the ants of the sky, if that's the best description for them

Yeah, there's 8 species of bees under the endangered status now. It's sad, which is also why there's fewer plants now

Yes bees are cool but beware of them too sometimes they will bite you that you didn't notice 🤪 it takes a few days to heal their bite's

Well they won't really sting unless you harm them. I think you're talking about wasps, those ar the kinds that just sting out of the blue. They're always mistaken for bees

I have never seen baby bees before. They are so alien-like cute! I have watched a documentary once, how people are converting high rise buildings to be gardens and some bee nests in the US. Bees being endangered in the US, that is quite shocking.

Hahaha I like your "alien-like cute" term. You are right. They are like aliens or worms... I dont know, but theay are so gentle and beautiful

Hehe.. they are cute alien-like with the eyes and tentacles (are those called tentacles) looking out of the hive :) They are beautiful. Just afraid to get stung by them when they fly close.

I adore bees. I own 20 bee societies. It is beautiful to work in an apiary. It is necessary for the beekeeper to be calm, and at the same time the bees, their sound and the smell of honey influence the human mind to calm down. I will note that bees have the most perfect community, where everyone does their part of the job.

How does one even own a bee society? Like in bee keeping?? That made me curious all of a sudden. Ah yes, the smell of honey is always calming, much more the taste 😂

Yes, I am a bee keeper. Maybe "own" is not the best way to say it. How would you say?

Whoah that's so cool! Tell me more about them please!

Maybe take care of them is a far better term?

Waahh bees are interesting. They're like a small community or a kingdom haha, I'm quite afraid of them tho:<

It's fine to be afraid of them but i think you mistake them for wasps. Those are the ones that always sting people, not like bees who will only sting if they're in danger
