Remember the enchanting terracotta warriors that were discovered? Well, their production, as well as the production of convincing armor, weapons, horses and carriages, was ordered by Emperor Qin Shi Huang, believing that they would protect him when he moved his soul to another world.
In addition to being the only empress China has ever had, Empress Wu ascended the throne at the age of 67 and ruled for a full 13 years. While some accuse her of being a powerful hungry killer, others claim that she did the same as other rulers, but that she was resented for all that because she was a woman.
Provided we count carefully, China had a total of 21 ruling dynasties. Their reign lasted from 1600 BC to 1911.
At only 3 years old, Puyi ascended the Chinese throne, when his mother appointed him heir, and then passed away. The dynasty that ruled for the longest time was the Shang dynasty, which gave birth to as many as 30 emperors, so this era is also called the "Shang era".
The changes were certainly brought about by the Mongols, led by the famous Genghis Khan, whose successors continued to occupy powerful China after him. One of his grandsons, Kublai Khan, founded the Juan dynasty in 1271, which held the throne for almost an entire century.
Zu Yu Zhao, the 15th ruler of the famous Ming dynasty, took the throne as a teenager at just 14 and showed only disinterest in state affairs, which were handled by corrupt officials. One of the rare things that interested him and where he showed his talent and will was carpentry, so in time he became an unrivaled carpenter.
Emperor Tian Cu, a member of the Liao dynasty, was the ruler when the country was not interested, but only hunting and polo, which he practiced non-stop, and which was already a sport practiced by the upper strata of society. Instead, all of his state affairs were done by his wife's brother.
One of the most brutal emperors that China had was certainly Yang Guang, the second ruler of the Sui dynasty. He conquered the throne by force, killing his father. The first thing he did when he ascended the throne, he declared all his father's concubines his own.
And for the end we left the most prolific Song dynasty. During their rule, China became the richest country in the world, and its population grew to 100 million. Unfortunately, their rule was interrupted by the arrival of the Mongols in those parts.
