Coping with Workplace Stress
April 27, 2022
Most of the time I am at the office. I am there for more than 9 hours regularly and more than that during busy days. It covers all my 12 hours in a day and 4 hours remaining at home. It becomes my regular day to day life. It is quite obvious that being stress is becoming normal as well. I always feel it during the middle of the day. However, when I know I start the day right, it changes.
At work, our company president sometimes send us, through email some of the strategy that could help us survive a day. It works but you need to consistently do it. Let me share it to you. Also, it doesn't only applies to people working in the office and other place, it could work to other people to, even if you don't have jobs. This could save your day.
Start your day right
Most of us have daytime job. We prepare going to work. Preparation not only about physical aspect but also mentally and emotionally. Some are listening to podcast while taking a shower. Some are into inspiration songs or message. Starting your day right means being positive as soon as you wake up. Even if the hassle is near you, you filter negativity and focus on what you need to accomplish. You deal with the problems on a later time and priorities the things that will give you more energy and positivity.
Stay away from Conflict
Having conflict can ruin your energy and mood. If you will engage in conflict it only delays you from doing your priorities. Even if there is a misunderstanding in the workplace, try to be calm and open-minded about the differences and difficulties. Do not allow yourself to clash with someone and create conflict with them. Try to deal with it professionally. Try to know their reason and also share your own thoughts about it in a manner that you still look respected nad well knowleagable. If the other parties are not engaging in like manner, better to stay away for now. Remember, it only consumes your energy and that is very negative.
Stay Organized
Being organised can save your day. During working hours, even if you have lots in your table, reread your plans or much better, before starting your work, write all the things you need to do for today and make a priority. Separate those who have short deadlines, to urgent to the regular task. Revision is needed when you need to squeeze something new.
Writing your task is very helpful so that you can know what are the things you need to do. Writing it will help you not miss anything. Staying oranized and planning in advance can save you in everyday challenges.
Socialize with your co-workers
During working hours, it is necessary to focus on the task in front of you, but it is more relaxing if you still have a minute to talk with your co-workers. Topic should vary. It could be funny stories, inspirational or something new that could benefit both of you. It should also be work related too. A minute or more will not hurt your schedule. It can relaxes your eyes too as you can escape from looking at your monitor for minutes.
Keep Perfectionist in Check
No one and nothing is perfect , do your best that is okay. As long as you are part of the solution in dealing with problems at work place you are doing good. If you are part of the problem solve your short comings right away. We cannot do things perfectly at work, but we can be close to it. We should do things right as always and if you are close to allowable perfection or your standard of perfection you could inspire and influence your coworkers to do the same. Keep perfectionist in check. Do it on the average so that it will be less stress to you and your workmate. Be open minded too with the differences as people varies attitudes towards work. What is easy for you, might be hard for them. You need to meet in the middle.
Final Thoughts
As you are dealing with everyday life in the office or any of your workplace, never forget to make things still enjoyable. Not everyday should be very stressful. Manage your stress, find your key people to help you in times of difficulties and make it challenging in an average manner.

Great tips - the 9 hours working and sitting in front of the computer is stressful. If everything is really messed up that day, I just log off and advised that I need for a time off for a while.
