I spent an awful amount of time reading fairy tale stories, and I would imagine myself to be the knight in shining armor saving the princess in distress from the evil queen. I would make swords out of sticks and shields out of umbrellas. I had this weird costume that came with a helmet. I had so few friends so I would often hop around the compound with my tricycle playing the role of a horse as I rode into battle. I have said this several times, I've got wild imaginations.

Then you can imagine how it was for me when my imagination started to become a reality, the day I found my princess.
It was just like any other day. It was a Friday evening, a good way to end the busy week of lectures, staying in the studio to make use of the free wifi to download animé.
By the way, is "One piece" not the best animé in the world?
Then she walked in and stole my heart. I stared in disbelief as such beauty was simply out of this world. I have finally found the princess to my little fairy tale and I was determined to make a move.
I approached her with a simple "Hi" and then she smiled in return with "Hi" and that was it, she stole my heart. Love at first sight I would call it. I saw butterflies, my heart started racing, the studio shined even brighter and I was utterly speechless.
Have I found the missing piece to my broken heart? She had come to the studio to study overnight. Angel was this girl's name, accurate in every way. She pulled me in (but not for a kiss as I'm sure you had anticipated), she whispered into my right ear "People are staring". I wondered if she didn't know how beautiful she was, that has got to be how she's admired every day. I meant to say it but I was lost in the intoxicating aroma of her hair.
She had all my weakness, beauty, and brains, the Achilles heel to my mighty heart. How can someone just have it all?
I'm not good at making conversations but here I was flowing with topics to discuss. We argued about some of the dangers of time travel, different Marvel and DC Characters, and who was more powerful than " Superman". She topped the scale when she dived into animé and said "Luffy" has to be stronger than "Superman". By the way, if you are lost at this point it's because you were not paying attention, Luffy is the main character from "One Piece", my favorite animé.
It doesn't get any better than this, we talked for hours that she didn't even read her books again. It felt as though we were already familiars yet this would be day 1.
It was already Saturday morning, and probably one of the best Friday evenings. I had found my damsel and was determined to be her knight in shining amour. The hours went by really fast that we barely noticed it, if only I had the power to keep the sun hidden for a little longer, I would. Yes, I know that would be selfish but that is what I was prepared to do to savor the moments.
It was morning and she had to leave, so did I. I requested to walk her to her hostel which she respectfully declined saying her hostel wasn't within the school premises. I escorted her to a Cab after successfully getting her number. I was determined to make this night the first of many.
Unfortunately, it would be the last time. She wasn't going to continue in the school because her Dad had gotten a job in the United State of America and they had to relocate abroad. If I was paying attention I would have noticed she had been preparing for her SAT examinations. She did call to inform me about this the following day which broke my heart.
We kept in contact for a while until days became weeks and weeks became months and then we slowly grew apart. A sad way to end a fairy tale. No happily ever afters.
The reality of life is quite different from what you read in books and see in movies. I believe I heard this from a movie, "Sherlock Holmes" perhaps?
"Happily ever after are just stories that haven't ended yet"
Don't get me wrong, I do love "Happily ever afters". I think people need to know that everything ends beautifully in the end, especially the little kids but as they grow, the experience will teach them even better.
This is just my opinion, now back to you, do you believe in Fairy Tales?
I literally grew up believing in fairytales. Reality is so different which I am very much aware of but I did not give up on believing in fairytales. Until now I'm still waiting on the plot for my fairytale 😊
