Mother of Fear and Mystery (the Night)

Good evening readstars. Thankful for today indeed. As we all slept last night, no one knows what happened and what would happen, but with all hope for the good, the night was perfect and good for us. We had a sound sleep and woke up healthy, healthy and strong.

As things happen in the day, likely, there's movement and other activities going on at night. Could be the ghosts time for business as believed those days in my village. So many people believe that spirits move around at night and there are people who have made us know that they have seen or come across ghosts at night. I have heard several stories of that too.

Night is designed by nature to be a resting time for mankind. Humans and animals are supposed to be sleeping at night especially after our daily struggles for survival, the only creature that can be seen at night are creatures that prey at night like the owl or any other animals. But for humans, it is supposed that we take a rest at night. It is no new thing to know that to some people, the night is their day and the day is their night. It could be people whose job is to safe guard lives and properties or could be the other whose job is to haunt fellow human and steal from them.

Night used to be peaceful and more perfect during the olden days. People tell tales of the moonlight and here in Africa, people can even sleep outside their house till day break. All without fear of being attacked both physically and spiritually. People travel safely at night successfully those days without overcoming any obstacles or challenges, people sleep with their windows and doors open through the night without even fear of the creepers. These days, no more moonlight stories, no ferry tales, no moonlight meeting by the clan and families. As early as six o'clock, everyone who has not yet retuned home is being called to know their way about. The world has just changed. Nobody sleeps with their doors open and windows open, no matter the warmth of the weather. What has happened, what are we now afraid of ? who knows.

From ages, people believe that there are more of spiritual activities that happens at night. They believe that witches and wizards operates at night and are asleep all day. These were the most feared mystery of the night those days. These days, humans looking for where to devour, steal and destroy are now roaming at night and are the most feared at night. Some people who can afford security spend a lot to keep themselves and what they have safe, but that doesn't end there. Trust and fear of being betrayed by those whose job is to guide and protect their interest.

So many news of kidnap in the city are plotted by the driver or bodyguard or even a relation. It always the person that knows you that will do you bad. It is no more about the rich fearing that they would be attacked, even the poor do not have a peace of mind. Everyone seems to be scare of the mysterious of the night.

Last week was a heavy one in my town. People had a good day and woke up to a nightmare. A whole storage in city market raided and all the bags and gallons of storage stolen. This happened at a night, just one night without a single trace of who did it. It was a surprise that left everyone speechless. The city has security, they were armed and even at that, are always at work. Who, when and how did this huge robbery happen. This is a question no one could answer till today. Store owners left in pain and the entire city in dysphoria.

Police were called and every house was searched without a trace. Some innocent men have been arrested in the early hours if the day the incident happened. The security men said they were making suspicious moves around the area and for that, they are suspects.

It amazes me that even the armed security men who were paid to keep the market safe, failed to do their job that particular day. One of the victim of the incidence has been hospitalized because of the trauma she is facing. I pray she would recover soon.

They all had a good business by the day and she left her money locked in the store, hoping that it is safe but couldn't stand what she woke up to. The mystery of the night has hit her so hard. She kept crying and saying that she took a loan for her business not long ago and why would her enemies do this to her. Other victims of the robbery are all in pain. Even the unaffected are in fear.

I just wish the real culprits are apprehended so soon and brought to justice.
