Imbalanced Life
Hello good people of READLAND, good evening to you all and happy midweek. Today happens to be more of my friendsâ birthday celebration. I have up to five people celebrating birthdays today. I can see the true words of Patoranking; a Nigerian pop star in one of his song which says that "every day is a birthday" Every day is a birthday indeed, congratulations to them all and to all those who are celebrating today. Long live and prosperity in good health I wish.
In the early hours of today, I was still sleeping when my alarm rung. It was time to wake up for some morning exercises. I woke up and noticed I was having a slight headache and a little sweat due to the warmth if the room. There was no light all night to put the fan on. I must have had a stuffy night I said to myself. My cousin sister has been awake and dressed up for the exercise; I didnât want to bother myself and told her my situation. She felt sorry anyways and opened all the windows in the house for proper ventilation. I had to seat and watch her workout while I have something eating before taking some relief drugs.
In a little time after she was done with her workout, she recalled the last time she went to bed healthy and woke up sick. She said she had planned to be somewhere in the morning to get something for herself but couldnât make it up because the unexpected happened; she fell sick in the morning and I was like wow! What an imbalanced world. We make plans for tomorrow and tomorrow make plans for us. We took a discussion from there and we talked, I realized how imbalanced this life can be. Nobody, no nation or group has it all.
I remember what I heard my friendâs mother told her one day while she was cooking and I visited. I was in the visitorâs room waiting for her to get done and join me when I heard her asking her mother for a kitchen knife, her mother was with the kitchen knife she was looking for, but she told her to make use of another one in the cupboard. The one in her motherâs possession has handle but is so blunt. She actually took it intentionally because it cannot peel cooking vegetables, leaving the very sharp one in the cupboard that has no handle. When my friendâs mother told her why she should make use of the handless knife, she went ahead, telling my friend again that even in real life situation, sharp knifes has no handles while blunt knifes have good looking handles.
To me, that was a word of wisdom and I can relate that to so many instances in real life. It could be in academics or social life; it could be on a work place or even my surrounding. When I got home from my friendâs house, I told my mom what I learnt and she agreed with me that âsharp knifes has no handles while blunt knifes have good looking handlesâ. She further related it socially to some beautiful ladies with bad character in terms of marriage. She went ahead and told me about some good looking ladies, so attractive to men but lack good characters. She also related it to some men as well because according to her, the blunt knife with good handled could be a man or a woman.
It could also be related to things and object. I have seen a good looking laptop in my class, owned by one of my classmate. He brought it to school for some computer lab requirement. A friend of mine too came with her old looking laptop that belongs to her dad. During the lab time, we were asked to pair up with them and majority paired with the good looking matesâ laptop, while I and the few others went to be with my friend with the older laptop. The class has started and my friendâs old laptop was so fast in booting and processing, while the good looking laptop took almost ten minutes to boot. This got some of his pairs angry and we ended up having the larger pair. It was a funny moment to remember and a lesson for me in particular each time I remember that.
Another instance I could relate to imbalanced is the weather and seasons of the year. Some people see rain that other people are praying for, and complain it raining too much while others have sunlight and complain that the heat is too much. Same thing with dry season and raining in Africa, winter and summer in Europe and other parts of the world

Closing thought:
In this life, nothing is enough. We should always appreciate what we have and accept what nature gives us. We make plans for tomorrow and tomorrow have its plan for us as well. We cannot have winter and summer together at a time just to please our desire and at same time, it not possible to have raining and dry season at once. I personally believe that by understanding how nature works, we can put things together and make a forever sharp knife with a beautiful handle.
Thanks for reading and have a blessed evening.

Different life, different experience just like the weather we are experiencing right now. There are times it rains hard and a days that no drops coming.
