Triangular Pattern Art Been experimenting more with doodles in my sketchbook these last couple of days. What I´ve done is that I scoured the internet for design ideas, patterns either from a bunch of artbooks teaching the subject or youtube videos. So, I´m sharing with you guys some of the process of how I made this piece : So, first thing I did I filled an entire sketchbook page with patterns. Basically I made a small square, filled it in. I served a bit of a warmup practice and it helped brainstorm some ideas. Then I started focusing on shapes. I wanted to figure out to apply a pattern to a particular shape. For fun, I made a sketch in the form of a flower and filled it with whatever designs I liked best. After the warmup was over, I start drawing basically triangles with a pencil and used a gel pen to ink the lines. Normally it´s recommended you use a liner pen instead. But because I didn´t have one at hand I had to make do with what I had. I then slowly filled it with patterns over the course of a few days. I even had a bunch of music/youtube videos running through the background to help with the workflow. Fun fact, did you know that doodling while listening to educational content actually helps you retain information? Try it sometime. So, that is pretty much how I created this art piece. I shared something similar on a previous article, you can click here to check it out. https://read.cash/@Ghostcat/abstract-doodle-art-e0cb38f2 **Thanks for reading, if you like my content feel free to support me here or you can tip and follow me on others sites through** **Cointree** https://cointr.ee/ghostcat

Nautilus Sketch This will be a very short article. I have been trying to catch up with my drawing hobby, so I finally got around to getting a proper sketchbook. One of the first things I made was a nautilus by photo reference. I always found them to be fascinating creatures, they are the closest thing we probably have to a prehistoric animal in modern-day. They look like if a squid had a shell. Fun fact, nautilus shells are a great example of a logarithmic spiral in nature. I drew this one with a 2 HB pencil. **Thanks for reading, if you like my content feel free to support me here or you can tip and follow me on others sites through** **Cointree** https://cointr.ee/ghostcat

Watching a Seagull Nest: Part 7 This is part 7 of my Seagull Observations, where I get to share some of my cool bird photos of a nest. You can also read my previous entries below: **Part 1** https://read.cash/@Ghostcat/watching-a-new-seagull-nest-my-photos-55e45f05 **Part 2** https://read.cash/@Ghostcat/watching-a-new-seagull-nest-my-photos-55e45f05 **Part 3** https://read.cash/@Ghostcat/watching-a-seagull-nest-part-3-6ff9b5d3 **Part 4** https://read.cash/@Ghostcat/watching-a-seagull-nest-part-4-6c9ec998 **Part 5** https://read.cash/@Ghostcat/watching-a-seagull-nest-part-5-74dd96c9 Part 6 I saw something really cool. I think I might have found a couple of new nests that I haven´t noticed previously. I suspect this one was raised on the top of my own apartment because it was obvious they only started learning to fly. Or maybe this the original nest and they´ve gotten bolder. They were accompanied by an adult pair. I even got to see one of the young do a complete circular flight around the area. I like this photo below because they look so perfectly aligned. I kinda wanna frame it and put it in my room. Despite seeing them being a little clumsy, to the point almost sliding down the meta tube, once one they gets it going they quickly go from awkward to a graceful flier. Also a bit further back, there is another nest, but it is a bit harder to see how old they are because of the distance. But I saw one them flap their wings and there are three of them. As for the other previous nest, they are doing great. Saw them flying to other buildings while staying close to home. One funny thing I saw, was that one of the younger ones ended up in the neighboring nest and had to deal with the fury of an adult. But they escaped in time. I´m kind of sorry that it happened really quickly before I got my camera out. I saw another perfect seagull line. this is like the second time this week already? Wow, such perfection. So, this is it for now. I don´t what else to write, but I already had taken some photos so I might post them next week if there´s anything interesting. **Thanks for reading and if you like my content feel free to support me here or you can tip and follow me on other sites through**  ****Cointree**** https://cointr.ee/ghostcat

Watching a Seagull Nest: Part 6 So, we´re now into week 6. Some interesting things have happened last week with these seagulls. As usual, you can click on my previous entries to catch up on my bird diary: **Part 1** https://read.cash/@Ghostcat/watching-a-new-seagull-nest-my-photos-55e45f05 **Part 2** https://read.cash/@Ghostcat/watching-a-new-seagull-nest-my-photos-55e45f05 **Part 3** https://read.cash/@Ghostcat/watching-a-seagull-nest-part-3-6ff9b5d3 **Part 4** https://read.cash/@Ghostcat/watching-a-seagull-nest-part-4-6c9ec998 Part 5 https://read.cash/@Ghostcat/watching-a-seagull-nest-part-5-74dd96c9 I´ve been keeping more on an eye on them as they practice their flight, especially since it has been really windy these past couple of days. Great climate for the flying beginner. So, far I haven´t gotten some luck because a) it was usually too dark when they did it, and also my battery had to be recharged ( tip, always have a spare one), so I missed some cool moments. But my patience paid off. It actually flew at a much bigger height! I´m no talking like lifting from a small distance from the roof. I´m talking about the kind of flight that would allow it to fly to another building if it could. Although, their still a bit clumsy, they have a tendency to fly with their feet lowered unlike the more experienced adults, which kinda affects its balance. But they're getting there. Also, one of them flew down to the next roof and up again. Speaking of flying, I have lately seen different seagulls landing on this roof. It has been really chaotic, they been chasing each other. The parents don´t really like it when others land on their spot. But because it was so windy, a lot of exhausted gulls were desperate in trying to find places to land. The funniest thing was watching their feeding time. One of the parents just regurgitated an entire fish, and not just bits and pieces of food. One the gulls picked the biggest part of the fish and even almost swallow it itself if weren´t for the other sibling wanting its fair share too. The parent came and took the rest because even adults need to eat too. I know I mentioned something similar before but here you can see it in action. It quickly gobbled up the fish and flew away from their demanding offspring. The second nest has been pretty active too. One thing that did worry me though, was one of them pecking on some wires that are attached to the antenna. they didn´t do it for long, so maybe it was a one-time thing. There was actually a point where I practically saw all of them flying, it was very confusing, I couldn´t tell which was which since it was really dark. But they seem to have fun doing it, it made me happy watching them so. Anyway, that´s it for today I really do hope to get an actual flight. Stay tuned for next week! **Thanks for reading and if you like my content feel free to support me here or you can tip and follow me on other sites through**  ****Cointree**** https://cointr.ee/ghostcat

Finding Mushrooms I have been looking through some old pictures of mine, and I found this cool looking mushrooms. Photos were taken in November 2019, Vila do Conde Portugal. There were other mushrooms as well, but I have no clue if these are the same species in different growth phases are simply a different kind. Interestingly enough I found them near the dunes, which isn´t a place I think I would find them but here we are. The only exception is the one below, which was found in a forest instead. The zone in question is Naturcond. I actually wrote an article about it here. https://read.cash/@Ghostcat/forest-findings-39849cec Mushrooms aren´t always easy to find. But if you pay attention by walking to more damp grassy areas, or forest with a lot of old trunks laying around it is possible to see them. most people recommend Autum as the perfect season to hunt for mushrooms. **Thanks for reading and if you like my content you can support me here. Watching a Seagull Nest: Part 5 Let´s give it up for week 5 of my Seagull Log. I got really excited for last week´s events on my favorite bird nest. As always, if you´re new to this series here are the previous entries so far: **Part 1** https://read.cash/@Ghostcat/watching-a-new-seagull-nest-my-photos-55e45f05 **Part 2** https://read.cash/@Ghostcat/watching-a-new-seagull-nest-my-photos-55e45f05 **Part 3** https://read.cash/@Ghostcat/watching-a-seagull-nest-part-3-6ff9b5d3 Part 4 https://read.cash/@Ghostcat/watching-a-seagull-nest-part-4-6c9ec998 So, I got a surprise for you readers out there, one of the chicks managed to fly for a few seconds in the air! Granted it not a proper flight, but it was really cool watching it try. As you can see below: The seagull in question is from the twin's nest, as I mentioned earlier there a bit more developed than the triplets nest, as they were born earlier. They spend most of the afternoon making more attempts. Now the triplets nest hasn´t been all that active when it comes to flying, or maybe I just missed something. But here´s what they look like now: Meanwhile back at the twin's nest. The two little ones have seemed to become more obsessed with grooming when they´re not feeding or trying to fly. I assume this helps them get rid of some of the leftover baby feathers to make way for proper adult ones. There was also this one moment where one almost practically slide to other side of the roof. Sometimes they can be found trying to fly in pairs: I actually managed to see them interacting with their parents, this allows me to make a perfect size comparison. Look how big they are! Despite their size they still pretty much act like babies, still dependent on the adults for food. I guess you can say the same thing about any teenager, too old to be considered a child, but too young to be considered a full adult. Last but not least, here are some of the shenanigans that the chicks been up to: **Thanks for reading and if you like my content feel free to support me here or you can tip and follow me on other sites through**  ****Cointree**** https://cointr.ee/ghostcat

Tomato Town Gameplay: Ep1 Sometimes I like to wander into itch.io out of boredom to see which games I can find. So, let me introduce you to this weird but funny grocery simulator called I´ll Take You To Tomato Town. the main objective to find all the objects on the list, but as the game progress, I keep having more bizarre requests. I got lost mutiple times, used my long and stretchy arms to grab items and make a mess, and trying to get everything before the store closes. Watching a Seagull Nest: Part 4 This part 4 of my Seagull Log series. Where I show off photos and documents by observations on a seagull nest. If you´re reading this for the first time feel free to read the previous entries to be up to speed. **Part 1** https://read.cash/@Ghostcat/watching-a-new-seagull-nest-my-photos-55e45f05 **Part 2** https://read.cash/@Ghostcat/watching-a-new-seagull-nest-my-photos-55e45f05 Part 3 https://read.cash/@Ghostcat/watching-a-seagull-nest-part-3-6ff9b5d3 I wasn´t really kidding when I said early on that it takes them at least a month to be fully grown. I mean look at them: There are getting closer to the size of their parents, their flight feathers are almost grown. They are also not as clumsy, although I have seen on them tripping and getting up again, it´s really cute. I showed this to my Mom, and she jokingly started calling them the Three Stooges, well the Triplets nest at least. However, one thing that I´ve noticed is that the chicks of one nest (twins) are actually larger than the other nest. I believe that those Seagulls were born a week earlier, hence the size difference. Although it can be harder to see here because of the distance. And here´s a really fun treat. Their wingspan has grown. So, much so that I think they are really this close to start flying. They are flapping their wings, not just to help them balance but out of observation of other birds. This sort of wing movement actually helps them strengthen their wings. They also made a few small jumps, nothing big but it´s a start. We are in the flight phase now folks. I hear that we´re gonna have a windy week, which is perfect for these pilots in training. Stay tuned for next week, when you´ll get to see their flight attempts. **Thanks for reading and if you like my content feel free to support me here or you can tip and follow me on other sites through**  ****Cointree**** https://cointr.ee/ghostcat

Watching a Seagull Nest: Part 3 This is now week 3 of this series, where I share photos and document my observations on a seagull nest. If you are reading this for the first time, check out my previous entries: Part 1 https://read.cash/@Ghostcat/watching-a-new-seagull-nest-my-photos-55e45f05 Part 2 https://read.cash/@Ghostcat/watching-a-new-seagull-nest-my-photos-55e45f05 So, at the start of the week, they are still kinda small, with a lot of that baby fluff that is characteristic of seagull chicks. I also noticed there is a tendency for the chicks to hand around the windows in the roof. I don´t know it if becomes they are curious about what is on the other side of the glass or they just like the warmth. This place can get a bit windy and chilly during certain days. Another interesting event I managed to see, was the protective and territorial instincts of the parents. There was this other seagull who try to land on one of the nesting roofs. But the mating pair proceeded to cry loudly as if to say that it´s not welcome there, so the outside left quickly. Unfortunately it happened so fast, that it was gone before I got my camera out. They also seem to show similar behaviour towards humans. The seagull always start crying out whenever one of the building´s inhabitants show up. I don´t know if it´s because it sees them as a potential threat, or they know that humans always leave out food. Speaking of which, if you read my previous post I mention a feeding dish that is left out for the cats. I haven´t seen it this week, and if I did it seems that one of the owners now takes it out as soon as possible. maybe they noticed that it´s attracting seagulls. I also got to see them during feeding times. This is always the highlight of my day, watching the parents interact with their offspring. But the best part of this week? Well, it´s this: After watching one of the parents fly, the two chicks tried to imitate them. Their flight feathers haven´t completely grown in, yet they have already have a headstart on practicing their abilities. At the end of the week they already this size, and have started to lose some of that fluff and have started to grow proper feathers. That´s it for last week´s observations. Thanks for reading, and if you wish to see more of my Seagull entries, don´t forget to subscribe, upvote and comment, as I always love hearing about readers feedback. So, I´m having problems in uploading my pictures. it is often either taking longer than usual and sometimes It won´t upload at all. When I try to make an article it usually takes me an hour at maximum, half of that at minimum. Today it is taking me 2 maybe more. i have spend more time trying to add pictures than I´m writing. This is making my experience on this site frustrating, as I don´t earn that much for the amount of work I put here, and there is only so many hours in the day for me to write. I would appreciated if someone would help me fix this.

Fishing Paradiso: A mobile fishing RPG During these chaotic times, I like to turn to games in order to relax, and recently I´ve found a game that satisfies that need for escape in the form of Fishing Paradiso, a free mobile fishing game. At first glance, it looks like an average fishing game, but it´s has a decent storyline and you get to befriend some quirky characters, as well as a couple of rpg mechanics. The premise is simple, you have died and went to paradise, however you don´t remember much about your life or how you died. At the start of the game you have an encounter with the Giant God Fish Martell, he tells you that in order to be accepted in heaven you must find him. After said event, you wake up in an island, befriend a bluebird and embark on a mission to catch the Celestial Fish. The gameplay is simple, to fish simply press on a button, that activates a bar which determines the distance of your line, tap it again to cast it, and press again to reel it in. The best way to catch fish to have your line land near the shadows on the water, once an exclamation point shows up, that means it took the bait. You also have to pay attention to another bar that shows up while you are trying to get the fish, if it becomes full, the line will break off and you will have to try again. Now, some of the shadows will have a different color, this is the fish you´ll need to capture in order to complete quests. Whenever you capture a new species of fish it shows up in your journal, complete with a description. So, there is an element of completion in this game. However there are limits, at the start you are giving at least a couple of worms as bait, once you run out, you will have to wait to get more. You can also watch ads. if you don´t want to deal with this, you also have the option of buying the full version of the game, but you can pretty much complete the story with the free version. About the quests, these are given to you by any of the characters you meet. Each character has their own storyline. Completing missions and leveling up their friendship with award you coins, items and allow you to progress in the main and side stories. They usually request you to capture a certain number of a particular fish. Completing parts of the main story will unlock new fishing areas. Coins will allow you to upgrade your fishing skills, as the fish become more and more challenging with each area. And the items are mostly for cosmetic purposes, in fact at the beginning, one of the characters builds you a house that you can fill with furniture. Here´s how I decorated mine: After completing the story, you are free to fully level up your friendship, complete the fishing journal, and you get to play through a new bonus event and unlock new secret areas. I have this to be a very entertaining and relaxing game, the pixel art gives it a certain charm. It is also not a very demanding game and can be played offline. Also it is free, with the option to support the creators by getting the full version. The game is available on google play, **click here** to download it. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rpgsnack.fishingparadise&hl=en_US Thank you for reading, if you like my content feel free to subscribe. Drawing Birds Using Photo Reference. When I´m not trying to develop my photography skills, I´m practicing sketching. I´m pretty much a beginner and hope to get improve over time. Now, sometimes I like to join both types of creativity and make something out of it so here are a bunch of drawings that I made by using photo reference. All these images are owned by me: 1. Sparrow This one is one of my favorites. I caught this cute sparrow during sunset, which is the golden hour due to the quality of lighting. It might not be perfect. But still, I glad I got the pose right at least. 2. White Wagtail This a wagtail, it was given its name due to its tendency to wag its tail. A very common bird here in Europe. I took this one in Spain, but it can be also be found here in Portugal. I love them, they´re actually one of my favorites. I was really lucky to get a picture up close. https://www.audubon.org/field-guide/bird/white-wagtail I like to think I got the pattern right. 3. Eurasian Skylark I caught this photo of the Euroasian Skylark (*Alauda arvensis)* in Mindelo, Portugal. It coloring allows it to quickly blend in with its surroundings. it has a very characteristics vocalization. I love this bird because of the of the plumage at the top of its head, making it looks like it has a spiked hairstyle.. I tried my best to capture its likeness, although the beak might be a bit longer than it´s real-life counterpart. https://ebird.org/species/skylar So this is pretty much all the drawings I made far. As you can see, I still have a lot to learn about animal sketching, but I enjoyed the process in making it and learning more about these birds. If I feel more confident I might post more of my art here, if only to show off my progress. Thank you for reading, if you like my content feel free to subscribe. Watching a New Seagull Nest- Part 2 This a continuation of my previous entry here in which I follow the development of a seagull nest. https://read.cash/@Ghostcat/watching-a-new-seagull-nest-my-photos-0a708d3b First, off a new update, there is a second seagull nest. This one has three chicks. As I mentioned in a previous post, gulls can lay between 2-3 eggs. I also found why this place is a popular spot for their nests. It is for one reason and one reason only: You see under their roof there lives a cat lady. Every day she lowers down a food dish with a string to one of the cats below. There is always a surplus of cat food lying around, and seagulls won´t waste and opportunity when they see one. This is the bird equivalent of having a supermarket right next door. Which brings me to this scene in particular: You have cats staring at the scene: And one very hungry and very patient Bird: After the cat leaves, it sees there is an opening : So, yes those chicks won´t ever have to worry about starving. And I´m not worried about the cats, the roof is too high for them to even climb. And seagulls are very vigilant when it comes to their offspring. As for the other nest? They are doing just fine: Look at them, they are growing bigger by the day. That is it for my last week´s nest diary. If any readers out there want to keep up with the updates, please subscribe as I will post more entries on the development of seagulls. **LBRY:** ****lbry://@weirdgames#e**** https://lbry.tv/@weirdgames:e **PeakD** ****https://peakd.com/@ghastlygames**** **Fruitlab:**  ****https://fruitlab.com/player/ghostspider**** **Youtube:** ****Weird Ghastly Games**** https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYkyDHJDh-KclwOFBH0M_Sg **Twitter:** ****https://twitter.com/GhastlyMirror****  **Publish0X:** ****https://www.publish0x.com/@Ghostcat****

Watching a New Seagull Nest: My Photos It is the Month of June which means its Baby Seagull Season. Seagulls typically mate from March to May, laying their eggs in late May. But the chicks usually show up in the next month. The nest can lay up to 2-3 eggs. Recently I have caught a glimpse of a seagull nest across my house. I watched as one of the parents bringing food ( a fish) letting the little ones giving it a few nibbles before flying off. I managed to take couple of photos as you can see here. The babies then proceeded to climb up the roof until they reached another of their parents that stayed behind. Seagulls as it turns out, make excellent parents, caring for their offspring until they are strong enough. They are still a little bit clumsy but I expect to see them getting more and more active as they grow up. Interestingly enough there is always one of the pairs that is a lot braver when it comes to exploration than it sibling. I hope to follow their development in the following weeks. The interesting thing about them is that they are known to grow up fast. They are able to leave the nest and start living independently while still having grey feathers. They only reach sexual maturity after 3 years. I hope to post updates frequently. **Thank You For Reading And If You Like My Content, Feel Free To Follow Me On These Sites:**   **LBRY:** ****lbry://@weirdgames#e**** https://lbry.tv/@weirdgames:e **PeakD** ****https://peakd.com/@ghastlygames**** **Fruitlab:**  ****https://fruitlab.com/player/ghostspider**** **Youtube:** ****Weird Ghastly Games**** https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYkyDHJDh-KclwOFBH0M_Sg **Twitter:** ****https://twitter.com/GhastlyMirror****  **Publish0X:** ****https://www.publish0x.com/@Ghostcat****
