Songs inspired by heartbreak.
I participated in a contest earlier today that brought back a memory of heartbreak in my first relationship. I remembered a song then that I usually listen to after the breakup happened, I was too childish.
I remembered how I do hold my pillow tightly and cried, don't laugh at me because it was my first relationship and I invested everything into it. I was roaming online as usual and came across a post from the Three Tune Tuesday, the first thing that came to my mind was sharing those songs.
These songs had two effects on me which are positive and negative at the same time, they broke me down emotionally and also made me realize that I deserved more than the person I lost. I have always underrated breakups and I feel like people usually overreact but it was not a joke and that's why we see suicide cases just because of relationships.
I thought I lost my best friend but I was wrong, she was my best because I built my circle only around her but when she did her childish behavior, I discovered that I was better off without her.
Adele: Someone like you
This song was produced over a decade ago and it was on the top of my playlist during that tough time for me, the song tortured me and gave me comfort at the same time.
The song was written after Adele had a similar experience in her relationship and you can tell from the emotions in the song how pained she was and she was willing to free herself from the memories of the former relationship. Nothing beats letting go once the relationship is not worth fighting for anymore, happiness doesn't end with your lover; it's in you.
Chorus
Never mind, I'll find someone like you.
I wish nothing but the best for you, too
"Don't forget me, " I beg I remember you said"
Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead"
"Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead"
The chorus usually sends chills through my veins, it gets me teary. I still feel goosebumps whenever I hear the song today, the singer's voice always does magic with my emotions.
Adele is magical and this particular track is one of my best, I am a fan of people with a magical voice. I am sure everyone is familiar with her song title "hello", she blew emotions with the lyrics and voice.
Passenger: Let her go
The concept behind " Let her go" was different, it was the opposite of "Someone like you" by Adele.
I was the victim in the first relationship but I turned out to be the culprit in the second one, it barely lasted 6 months due to the insecurity I developed from the first relationship. I was at fault this time and regret pushing the girl to the limit she had to give me space, I was always suspicious of every movement and she felt it was best to walk away.
I first heard the song on a radio station, the DJs were fond of playing it on cold nights and I fell in love with the song. The breakup happened years after and the song made me regret my actions, it hurts and I had to face reality.
Chorus.
But you only need the light when it's burning low,
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow,
Only know you love her when you let her go,
Only know you've been high when you're feeling low
Only hate the road when you're missing home
Only know you love her when you let her go
I was hurting and healing, it took time, and remembering how I made the relationship terrible made me sad. She played the keyboard and I enjoy listening to her play when I am down but that didn't happen again, I missed her.
Idina Menzel: Let it go
Let it go is a soundtrack in the popular animation movie titled "Frozen, embracing this song has nothing to do with relationships but I find comfort in it when I am heartbroken, or when I have a burden in my heart.
Chorus
Let it go, let it go
Can't hold it back anymore
Let it go, let it go
Turn away and slam the door
I don't care what they're going to say
Let the storm rage on
The cold never bothered me anyway
It is impossible to go on in life without challenges and when you choose to hold on to the pain they left with you, it would be hard to take the next step in life. The message in the song is clear, letting go of those shackles is important because we have to keep pressing forward regardless of what our situation might be in life.
The songs are still very relevant to me and I don't hesitate to dig up whenever I feel emotional down, their effect on me is always positive in the end.
Music speaks greatly to me I listen to Adele-someone like to you almost everyday
