Seek ye first quality engagement and...

A lot of people including myself underestimate the power of quality engagement and it is one of the reasons why we are struggling to hit the ground running like many of the authors we admire and have always wanted to be like on different social platforms.

In my little time posting articles, I have discovered that quality engagement is the foundation of every successful author on any platform, a lot of us know this as well but we are so reluctant or lazy to have quality engagement on the platform. It is a different case for some writers, they choose one out of the three different types of quality engagement whereas they need to be doing all the tasks tied up to the quality engagement on the platform.

Practicing just one out of all the forms of quality engagement is like trying to move a tricycle when one of its tires is missing, it would eventually be a wasted effort no matter how much effort we put into it.

Let's run through what these branches of quality engagement are;

Making quality comment:

Commenting is one of the things many writers find difficult to do, many just want to drop content and expect miracles to happen while they are away. Sorry to disappoint you, but things don't work that way.

This is one of the reasons why I don't just tell people about blogging by saying that "you write to earn", it is best to say that "you will earn by engaging with others on the platform". When you tell people that there is a platform where they can write to earn, they just make the place a dumping ground for their post which is wrong.

Making quality comments on a quality post has more than one benefit which includes:

Getting attention: your comments on the platform advertises you, it tells people what kind of reader you are. Commenting can give you fame quicker than even writing articles, it draws attention to you.

An opportunity to earn: recently I made almost $1 on a comment here on the hive and I was surprised because there are many times my article doesn't get $1. Making quality comments can help you earn more, it is less stressful compared to making writing articles but the lazy attitude towards reading prevents us from taking time to make quality comments.

It is an opportunity to learn: learning is one of the benefits of commenting because you must read before commenting and that action also enriches your knowledge.

Making quality comment is a good habit and it is one of the important factors that build up quality engagement for a writer.

Making quality post:

I have seen someone mention that a post is a post, but I do not agree with that. Not all post is a quality one, you must put your all into your writing to make outstanding content.

This isn't about the number of posts you drop daily, it is about how rich your content is. It is better to make one quality content for a whole day than do numerous posts with zero quality. If you have been making quality comments and giving poor-quality posts, you will leave your admirers disappointed when they visit your blog.

Writing quality posts is also very important, it is another pillar of quality engagement.

Following people of quality.

You do be wondering why you need to have a specific set of people, quality in terms of people doesn't mean following members with high ranking or reputation, it has to do with people who dish out quality content from time to time.

Their articles and comments always speak quality, these people are the ones who can influence and help you grow.

Seeking quality engagement first matters a lot because that's what can help you become everything you have dreamt of as a writer on a platform, it helps a lot more than running after the earning first. Chasing after the money first most times does not help you achieve what you want and if does, it will take a longer time than normal.

Chasing money first makes you show some desperation but not in the right way, it would be best to channel the energy properly into quality engagement than chasing the bag. The good thing about quality engagement is that it gives you all you need, fame, money, traffic on your blog, and any other thing you can talk about.

There is a difference between writing and having a quality engagement, you need to be able to have a good relationship with other writers if you want to grow on a platform. These lessons have been something I held on to tightly, I understood the importance of quality engagement from years back but I can be very lazy sometimes but something dug out the old feeling about quality engagement in me and I saw the effects under 24 hours.

The collaboration of Dreemport and Ecency reminded me of the importance of quality engagement, I am happy I feel very much alive again like a blogger. I know life comes in to disturb a lot of things planned but we must try to use the available time to do what's right which is having quality engagement.

No wonder the book of blog chapter 19 vs 1 emphasized seeking first quality engagement as a writer and every other good thing you wish for in the world of blogging will be given unto you.
