I couldn't resist the temptation of joining the challenge after reading several articles that as to do with @OfficialGamboaLikeUs challenge about our experience with alcohol, it feels great taking a peep at your funny past.
Did I say funny? Yes, I did. Looking back at it makes it look funny but it was embarrassing when it happened then.
I didn't take alcohol while growing because my mom lived alone and she was my biggest role model, I watched her every step and judge it with every decision I wanted to take. She detests the drinking of alcohol because she believes that at a point, people get addicted and they meet their fall or end during the process.
As a teenager, I didn't have those kinds of close friends that love to go attend parties. I spend most of my time at school, home, and mom's shop and this didn't make me have such exposure to alcohol. I was been mocked by my mates at school then because they assume you are a weakling if you aren't doing what they are into and it got to a stage, they started bragging about how many bottles they took maybe the previous day or anytime before that day but it doesn't freak me because I have seen a lot of people disgracing themselves after getting drunk and I don't ever want to be a victim of such because I value my reputation a lot.
Sometimes, I ask why would they sell drinks to people below 18 when there is a law that alcoholic drinks shouldn't be sold to people below that age. The law is meaningless here and as long as you have your money, you can do whatever you like.
I ended up having moments with alcohol and I would share some of the unforgettable ones.
FIRST REAL ATTEMPT.
I was good with my decision and determination to stay away from alcohol until I became a youth and the temptation got real. I didn't believe friends can influence you until I got into a higher institution.
I was given two rooms to use during my higher institution by my ex-boss, it was a big space and I brought some of my course mates that needed accommodation to come to live with me. We made friends in the neighborhood and nights are always the best part of the day because we do get food from the people in that environment even though it is not every day.
On this fateful day, a lady gave me wine and said I would love it. I took it home because I wasn't really into alcohol, my friends got ice and started drinking. It was very creamy and had chocolate flavor that filled the air but I ignored it. One of my roommates who was enjoying the drink as well teased me to taste it, I tried it but it didn't end well for me.
It was delicious that I started drinking it fast so that I can fill the small cup we were using, after few minutes of talking and drinking, I discovered I wasn't feeling my weight and it looked like I was falling off, I quickly called myself to notice and I could hear them laughing because my sight failed already. I felt them washing my head with the iced water and I was helped inside the house, I had to hold my pillow tight because the room was spinning in my head and it gave me severe headache till the following evening.
A FAILED MISSION.
This is one memory I wouldn't forget in life. After my first attempt, I started having little quantity of wine and some sweet beer because the bitter taste of most beer turns me off.
I had this cute and nicely shaped girl that was flirting with me in school, she doesn't let any chance of hugging or kissing me pass her when we are playing - she is always quick to grab opportunities. I wasn't really into her but I was in love with the huge backside so I asked her to visit me on a Sunday and she agreed, I told my friends about it and they promised to help me get a drink that would make have very long sex with her since she was obsessed with my physic too.
The day came, I drank the alcoholic drink they gave me immediately she called me that she was leaving her home. I took care of the house and my friend decided to leave the house to avoid disturbing, she got to my place and the last thing I remembered was watching a movie. I slept off because the drink made me dizzy and I couldn't even stand on my own, I decided to lay on the bed to avoid embarrassing myself which I eventually did because I didn't know when she left and I never had the chance to feel my favorite part of her body.
She started ignoring me for a reason I pretended not to know and I felt ashamed she might tell her silly friends about me.
THE BIRTHDAY PARTY.
I rarely attended parties but this one was a must for me because my uncle on the street was celebrating his birthday and he stylishly handed the organizing of the party to me.
We were to use a small spot in an open bar, we didn't make food but we had surplus meats and drinks. It was mostly alcoholic wine and beer, yogurt, he wanted it to be lite so we didn't get soft drinks. The yogurt was bought for diluting the wine for those who aren't heavy drinkers but I was told some guests successfully took only yogurt.
When everything was in place, the venue was set. I decided to relax with a bottle of the creamy Best wine, I had company so I thought the person would sit to the end but he left before we drank half of the bottle.
The drink was addictive for me because of its chocolate flavor, I didn't stand up from the chair. I was shaking to the music from the bar and pressing my phone till I finished the bottle, it was a record for me to drink that much and I smiled when I turned the bottle and nothing dropped.
I called the celebrant that I was going home to change and some people were arriving already. His sister came and I handed the key to the things we kept in the tanks, I started feeling funny immediately I left there. I waited for the bike but couldn't get one so I trekked, I wasn't in my right senses because it will take me over 40 minutes, and with my condition, it would be a longer trip.
The road was perfect but I kept seeing potholes till I got home. On getting home, I managed to take my bath and relaxed a bit. That was all I could remember because I woke up close to midnight, I was shocked when I couldn't find my phone. I staggered as I search through the room, I locked the door behind myself and couldn't find the key as well.
I searched everywhere and got tired that I went back to sleep. When I woke up again, I was very much better and remembered that my phone was in the bathroom. I got a lot of missed calls because no one knew my whereabouts and they came home my door was locked.
I called few backs to tell them I was fine and in the morning, I became a joke and talk on the street. I felt bad at first but ended up laughing with them and since then, I stopped drinking outside my home.
If I want to drink, I have my brand at home always.
I now understand that alcohol makes me sleep so I just get something to eat along with the drink and take 2-3 cans whenever I am troubled or have something bothering me.
I also have experience when I drunk on how I transform from not so really me so now I curse it! Haha
