Blame Others or Seek Solution? "Parent"

I haven't posted for two days now due to some commitment outside the platform and I am glad to be back again, family and farm work kept me very busy and I just have to be there since this doesn't happen every day.

The recent hike in the killing of people in Nigeria for ritual has resulted in lots of issues with people pointing hands at different factors that have led to the barbaric situation happening in the country at the moment and the question is, do we still need to blame one another or find a solution that would put an end to this false and cruel act some youth have to embrace just to become rich in life.

The recent issue made me cry, I was watching the video in fear. How could boys of age 17, 19,20 do such a thing? The issue got me thinking if we have the smallest bit of humanity left among us at all, if the life of others has no value to us then it is over because the country is heading into its doom.

Aren't we the same youth who cried when our fellow youth were murdered during the end SARS protest? Why then do we think killing each other would bring riches?

I said earlier that blaming each other for the cause of these ugly incidents wouldn't be of any good because that is completely a misplaced priority and our concern now should be on how to end this in our society.

The first thing to be clarified is the fact that killing people for ritual doesn't make one rich, I have seen people talk about it but no one can give an explanation of how that bizarre act brings money and I see those things as a commitment and covenant with the devil which wouldn't do us any good here and the afterlife.

We must understand the fact that we must work for whatever we want to become in life.

Everyone has a role to play in correcting this trend, ending the killing to become rich thing can only be achieved if we all put our hands together. I will break down the solution according to the people who have been blamed for the increase in ritual cases happening around the country.

Parents

Lots of parents are the cause of many youths gets themselves into today, it is the responsibility of every parent to train their children properly. Training them doesn't have to be about going to the best school or buying them things they want, giving them a lot of money for pocket money and others, it involves teaching kids moral values.

Our society is gradually losing its grip on moral value and that's one of the things that we must restore to create sanity among the youth else things would move from bad to worse. As parents, it is irresponsible of you to leave your responsibilities to teachers or religious leaders, we should be prepared for that once we make up our minds to start having kids.

Another grave mistake some parents make is comparing their children with other kids, this act mounts pressure on youths today and it makes them get into terrible acts.

Guiding and encouraging your children to become great should be done instead of telling them to see what other kids are doing. Do you know where these other kids you are comparing them with getting money from? Because of the pressure, they get into illegal things.

Another thing related to this is parents putting responsibilities on their children who are barely catering for their own needs, I remember reading an article sometimes back about parents seeing their children as an investment. Every parent should make plans for themselves now and about the future, because there are times when things don't go as planned, delay happens and pressure comes in on the child when parent ask now and then, the child can seek an illegal means to riches just to satisfy his or her parents.

It is the dream of every child to take care of their parents, so it is important parents don't mount pressure on them while they are still putting the piece of their lives together.

As parents, we must ensure we mind how much freedom we give to our children. Until we are sure that our children are old enough to do things on their own, we must be part of their lives. Know their friends, and even friends' family so you can be sure of the kind of people your children are interacting with every day.

Know what they do on their phones if necessary, a lot of things going on out there are as a result of what they see, hear and watch on the internet.

Parent negligence has caused so much trouble in the life of their kids but not many would admit that their mistakes resulted in what their kids ended up in. If parents would step up their game and perfect their duties which are bigger than feeding and clothing, I believe there will be positive changes in the world.

I have seen parents who don't ask questions about where their kids get things from, instead they even celebrate the things they don't even know the source. There was this particular year a video of a young boy who bought is mother a car went viral and she was happy without even knowing the source, where would a boy below 20 years of age get his mother to buy his mother a new car? I am not saying someone of such age can't buy that with leg money but questions should be asked, make your finding and be sure that it is a blessing and not a curse. Someone like @Amazing-grace can buy a car for his mother tomorrow since he has invested in crypto, it is clear where he got his wealth from. Things like these are good news but as parents, we mustn't be overexcited or carried away.
