Patience is the key.

We tend to believe that if we wanted to succeed we have to be patient. We need to wait for our time to shine, as we all believe that everything is on the line and our success isn't a race. But sometimes patience isn't always the key.

Cassie is an excellent worker on her company. Many appreciated her for that. She was independent, a good leader, punctual and of course smart. She can work perfectly under pressured time and she can make every one around her proud. She's really a perfect asset of the company indeed.

But in ten years of giving all of her best, she remains to her position. No promotion at all. Sometimes she felt envy as some of her colleagues had been already promoted and she felt that she's been left behind. There were times that she felt demotivated and tired but she didn't allow negativity to swallow her. She remained being the best employee of her company, but her boss was like it was blind as if it didn't see her efforts.

One day their boss held a meeting. It made an announcement that she's going to give a promotion to their best employee and so everyone was expecting that Cassie will get the promotion. Every one was excited for her and even Cassie for herself. She's been waiting for it and she knows to her self that she deserves it as she worked hard for that promotion.

Some of her close friends in her work place already congratulate her as they are also expecting that the promotion will be given to her. She humbly thank them as she was also assume for it.

The promotion day came.

....Every one, I would like to announce and to introduce to all of you our new C.E.O Ms. Celine Hopper, congratulations.

Around of applause please...

Every was shocked including Cassie. None of them expecting it, as all they expect the promotion would be given to Cassie, and because their boss call a different name most of them remains silent. They can't say any words as the person that got the promotion was just new and so they felt disappointed and sad for Cassie..

Cassie run outside the hall as she don't want anyone to see her crying. She was disappointed and hurts. She really felt that all of her efforts and sacrifices was worthless and that no matter what she do she won't get any promotion. She felt bad for her self.

..Is ten years isn't enough to get a single promotion? She muttered.

She went home that night with a heavy heart. She was so devastated and hopeless. In her room she continue to cry.

The next day she force herself to go to work. She don't want to but she have to, as she has a lot of work to be done before the deadline run.

On her way to work she drop by to a coffee shop, she wants some coffee besides it's still early. While she was busy looking for a new flavour of coffee, she heard someone mention her name.

... Cassie???

She look around and from her right side she saw a familiar face but she isn't sure who's the person was and so she smiled and greeted the woman.

...Hi! I'm sorry, but you are?

...oh common Cassie its me, jasmine remember?

She suddenly remember jasmine, her high school best friend but because it went abroad after they graduated high school, they loss their communication and the friendship was cut.

...oh my gosh! Jasmine? How are you? It's been awhile, when did you come back?

She was so happy to see her old best friend again. And since it's still early for her to go to work, they do a little chitchat and from jasmine she decided to resign from her work and try her luck in the other company.

Cassie eventually got a new job in a new company and after working for less than one year, she got promoted and her success continue.

Closing thoughts..

Sometimes we also need to change our direction. We also need to quit to start a new beginnig and try a new opportunity to succeed. We also need to create a new path and starts a new journey as sometimes our success was in our opposite, we just need to turn around to find it.

Without draining ourselves we can eventually have the rewards that we deserve.

Sometimes patience isn't always the key.
