"My nickname makes me confused as a kid"
For more than ten months I still haven't write my introduction here. Well at this state, I think it doesn't matter anymore. I am already known as garrethgrey by the username I use.
However, I just want you to know that my real name is actually Jenny. This is just a clarification so you won't get confused.
Jenny in barbarian means the Grace of God, while in Latin it was meant as the gracious gifts of God. Sounds interesting isn't it?
I found it interesting tho. I never knew that my simple name has a very beautiful meaning and yet I have a very weird nickname. My own family, and even some of my relatives use to call me Kenneth when I was still a kid π. Well honestly, until now that I have already grown up whenever they saw me, they still call me Kenneth, or sometimes " neth" for short.
Weird isn't it?π€£ Well Kenneth isn't weird nor an ugly name, but I actually don't know why I have that nickname. I found it too far from my real name and my real name becomes meaningless.
Honestly when I wasn't yet studying, like I was at my age of 4-7 year's old I really thought that my real name is Kenneth. How do I found out that my name is Jenny?
Story time, please fasten your seat belts, and let's go!ππ
So it was month of May, way back 1995, my mom and I went to the nearest public school in our place. The school will start by the month of June, and so she wants me to enroll as a grade one student. Back then kindergarten isn't yet implemented and so once you age seven years old you'll gonna be directed to grade one.
When we arrive at the school my mom greeted the teacher and so do I. Then they talked about the enrollment, as she wants me to be admitted. While listening to them, the teacher ask my mom what was my first name, so she can add me to her list of her students.
My mom says, her name was Jenny (surname)...
I immediately got confused upon hearing the name that was my mom given to the teacher, and so I look to my mom's face with a confused facedπ€. Lol.
I don't know any Jenny in the house, and so who's Jenny she's referring to? (my thoughts)π€ π€·
As I was confused and my mom didn't mind me, I directly asked her who's Jenny? The teacher hears me, and so she got confused with my question tooπ . My mom answers me and she says it was me. Lol.
I was like, what? Me?π€π. My name is Jenny, I thought it was Kenneth ? I asked to my mom but she ignores me again.
The teacher smiled, while my mom remains quite as it isn't the right time for interrogation π.
And so from that day, I become Jenny. Lol
The end of the story.
That was funny, right? My mom just bring me to the school and my name suddenly changed π. I don't remember that my mom explain to me about my nickname, they just love teasing me as Kenneth, I guess??

Closing thoughts;
Having a nickname is really good, honestly. But sometimes it can also possibly makes the child confused. In my own experience, in seven years of my childhood day's, I really thought that my real name is Kenneth, then nickname is "Neth", which I thought from my first name Kenneth. Lol. Little did I know that my name is more feminine than the name that I used to hear π€£.
However I wouldn't say that this confusion can be applied to everyone, but the possibility is visible.
Anyway how about you, do you also have a nickname? Does it also makes you confused as a kid? Was it very near to your real name or was it also far?π€£.

Oh God you makes me laugh HAHAHAH even me, if someone asked "Whos blabpa?." While they were referring to you, I'll get confused too HAHAHAAH. I have one, my real name is Gyra and the teacher thought I was a boy π she was confused when she calls my name and it's me who showed up π
